VSG Maintenance Group
11/12/2020 Thursday
DD, I hear your frustration with people/policies incongruent with safety and health. Our governor has limited Thanksgiving gatherings to ten people. In the middle of a global pandemic with record high Covid cases, why is that even being questioned ? Putting up resounding holiday decorations is a thing in our area, too ! Liz, I can't remember which home you are at this week, but I hope the unexpected encore of Eta didn't do any damage to your home. Ceci, I'm eager to hear how your lunch went with your new knitting friend. It is always nice to discover an unanticipated meeting of the minds. Shirl, we are eager for baby news and pictures ! Will you be going to the farm this weekend ? Peps, I like the unfat concept. Your strength and muscle certainly defy a fat label ! We do such numbers on ourselves with labels !
My weight is now ten pounds into overweight (159), a place I promised myself I would NEVER return to. I am feeling ashamed and out of control. The creep was so slow, and then I was THERE. I read back over some of my idealistic posts early in maintenance, and the plan to focus on VSG protein forward, low carb eating and logging on MFP if I went above my range resonated. I can reverse this, and I will.

Diane O.-I am so glad to wake up this morning and "see" you. I noticed last night it had been few days since I've seen you post and thought about reaching out on facebook. So this is a relief.
I think Liz mentioned yesterday maybe a vaccine by April. Gosh I hope so. Though I admit I'm uneasy being the first to take it. So geez I don't know.
Today is my husband's bday! Of course I thought I'd have time to buy him a present while the girls were in school. And I also thought we'd be in Florida this weekend. So I'm going to try to do curbside pick up for a weight bench and have them put directly into my trunk. We need it to go with our new weights, anyway! He won't be able to see his adult kids tonight so that's sad. Perhaps this weekend.
Dinner is chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, and angel food cake.
I too need to get back on the wagon. But I've noticed that the key with this, maybe with everything, is consistency. If I keep doing good things every day, they add up.
I am so glad to see you too Diane. And my weight is 129 this morning. Eek! 6 pounds over my range. We definitely can reverse this.
I am on the East coast, so we just have had some winds and some rain from Eta, along with very muggy air. They say it will remain for today then be really nice for an extended stretch starting tomorrow. My place on the West coast was one of the most severely affected in Southwest FL with winds gusting to 70. But all is fine there, as I checked in with my neighbor this morning. Mike and I are going there Sunday for 8 days encompassing the arrival of DD for Thanksgiving week.
We booked our Christmas trip yesterday and stupid me I had myself coming back too soon. I need to stay to be with my children on the anniversary of DH's death. I kind of would like to fast-forward through my memories of those days, but I need to be there for the kids. So I need to change my return flight.
Today may include some beach time if it is dry enough - definitely tomorrow.
Have a safe and healthy day!
ETA: Flight changed - I feel better about it.

Weight up a bit. Grr. Restaurant food. Even when you try to pick well, it bites you in the tush!
Diane, I had a great lunch with my new friend! We talked for 3 hours and it went by in a flash. I got her country wrong, I'm sorry to say. She's from Sri Lanka originally. It took her 19 years to get her citizenship. She's a year older than me, has a bachelors and 2 masters, thinks just like I do (Peps and I worked it out yesterday, I think. Socially moderate, fiscally conservative might sum me up best), and she and her husband have also just started figuring out where to move to get out of nutty CA. Loads of fun, super interesting, and we're planning to do it again soon.
Today I need to focus on my normal foods after 2 restaurants this week. My cleaning folks are coming, so I have to go run around and pick up now...
Interesting thing I learned about the AZ income tax hike - it was paid for and introduced by a group out of Portland, Oregon. They've tried similar measures in other states. "Beware of strangers bearing gifts" as they say.
Excellent that you met someone you can relate to!
