Managed to reply to yesterday's thread by accident! Moved it here...

Weight up (dammit). I am down 0.2 for the week and 18 overall, so it's not all bad news.

I saw my Dad and his wife yesterday and had a nice time. I was under by a lot on my calories, so I don't pretend to understand the scale thing, but oh well! The scale is a fickle beast.

As expected, I did not get a full trash load out. There just isn't trash to be had, which is an accomplishment in itself.

Today I have lunch with my two girlfriends (one of whom is moving back to the UK after Christmas). I plan to monopolize her time until she leaves.

I saw this morning Pfizer says their Covid vaccine is 90% effective. Sign me up!

It's still crisp here, but beautiful and sunny. Finally, a few days of Fall come to CA.

Enjoy your day!

PS - my bff's in laws both were diagnosed with Covid last week (they're on day 9 and feeling okay which is a blessing as they are both well in their 70s, overweight, one had diabetes and the other just finished breast cancer treatment). And now my bff and his partner have both come down with symptoms and were tested today. That would make 13 people I know who've had it (if the two today test positive). Only one thus far was hospitalized (in her 80s) and has some lingering breathing problems, but everyone else so far came through just fine.

I hope that continues for your friends!

No one in my family, or close friends has had it yet. As our community transmission explodes, I'm sure that will change. One of my son's friends had Covid, recovered fully. One of my friend's mother, who is in a memory care facility will probably pass away because of Covid tonight or tomorrow. He was allowed to see her for the first time since March, so he could say goodbye.

It's not knowing how bad yours will get that is so scary. The range of experiences is maddening. Thankfully those in my orbit have been lucky.

I'm so sorry for your friend and his mother. What a blessing they let him in to say goodbye. The number of people out there with out that closure is heartbreaking.
