The weather couldn't be much better here ! I feel like a weight has been lifted from my soul. I know not everyone is happy with the election results but a return to civility and simple things like utilizing knowledgeable people to help lead are so reassuring ! I wish our teachers could personally show Devos the door. Eating is more on track with the increase in outdoor activity the nicer weather brings. My laundry has doubled, however, as we wear one set of clothes in the cold AM and have to change to summer clothes mid day. It's a small price to pay !! Hope to get rugs, cushions, umbrellas etc. on the back deck put away today, while they are totally dry and my hands are warm and working. Enjoy your days !

I am personally thrilled by the election results and hope there isn't any unrest brewing. Maybe the fact that Trump calmly heard it while on the golf course will help?
Weight 127.2. I met Mike's longest term friend yesterday and was subjected to an inquisition of sorts. I think it went well but lots of alcohol was consumed including a tequila shot to celebrate the presidential news. I am TOO OLD for that and fell asleep on for a couple of hours when we got back.
Today we have a tropical storm warning (on both Florida coasts). Just lots of wind right now but even the wind forecast isn't terrible: 25-35 gusting to 45. We are going out for breakfast, will do a few errands, then I am going to be knitting the Christmas stocking today. I have the name done and start Rudolph in the next row.
Have a safe, healthy, and new day!

Not happy with the results of the election, glad it's over. I hope he will work across the aisle and I hope Republicans are receptive. At least it seems to have been peaceful so far.
I had a really good time with our friends last night. The butternut squash risotto was so easy and delish in the instant pot. We played spades and hearts. I think we will visit my parents today. I'm making a ham and bean soup, possibly cornbread, maybe a pie. For right now what I'm doing with eating seems to be working so I'm trying not to overthink it. The more I overthink, the more I seem to want to eat and it ends up harming me.
Thanksgiving decorations are mostly out. Need to finish that up and put the boxes away!!
I think today calls for food, family, and a good (happy) movie.
Diane o.-I feel ya. I keep turning on and off the a/c here. I'm spoiled! But in OK it's been high 70s in the afternoon and with our Western facing windows, it's hot in the evening, but a few hours later we're in the 40s and it's back to heat. The girls have been begging to get outside (little Charlotte's "outsyyyde" is so cute) but tree limb piles are everywhere. We may have to check out and see if the park has been cleaned up yet.
I'm so impressed with you all finding the perfect balance in a covid world. STill living, but trying to mitigate. Yay!
I too hope/wish the parties will work together. I am not terribly political. I just want our political representatives to collaborate to do the best for their constituents.

I think the outcome of the election is begging for politicians to work together. Electing a democratic President, but flipping some house seats red says a lot of people split their ballots. I too hope there can be compromise. Things like fixing our infrastructure and getting PPE to our frontline workers should easily be bipartisan.
And yes, I am so ready to see the last of Betsy DeVos.
BB I've never wanted an instapot until you mentioned risotto. You can use it to make risotto without stirring?
Today is the highest weight I've been in over 8 years. This trend is alarming. I know what to do. How to flip that switch? It seems crazy, but I do better when I'm working from home. In order to eat well at work, there is so much planning, and lunch packing.

Weight down 0.2. Slowed way down this week despite more walking.
While not a Trump fan, I have a lot of serious concerns about the democrat agenda (and Biden's health). So basically, I wasn't going to be hopeful with either outcome!
The rain is heading out, but it's chilly. I'm going out to see my Dad today for dinner.
I have dipped into a funk. Between the election, my good friend moving half a world away, Arizona (my first choice for a move) just voted to increase their income taxes by a lot, and then having a wave of realizing I'm totally alone in moving and how depressing and scary that is. I don't know, the hope of change just seeped out of all of it and all that's left is fear - that I'll choose wrong, that I'll regret it, that I will struggle to make a life. But I don't have a lot of reasons to stay here other than familiarity. All the things I have felt discontent about are still here. I guess I'm just feeling very ungrounded and very alone. Blah.
I don't think my trash can will be full tomorrow. I?m down to donate-able stuff more than stuff to throw away.
Hope you all have a good day...
There should be a gorgeous tropical island for women to retire to and be waited on hand and foot !
