Well, the results don't appear to be resounding. We will just have to wait and see. Everyone had the opportunity to be heard. It is times like this that totally drained me as a leader. During challenging times, I tried to inspire calm in chaos and confidence during uncertainty, balancing the need for people to express themselves with moving forward focusing on the greater common good, tamping down my own inner turmoil, to lead by example. Although my personal definition of my higher power/ God is quite broad, may this full version of the Serenity Prayer inspire me today:

Age: 64; 5' 5"; High weight: 345; Start weight: 271 (01/05/15); Surgery weight: 218 (05/27/15); Pre-Op (-53); M 1 (-18); M 2 (-1.5); M 3 (-13.5 ); M 4 (-13); M 5 (- 8); M 6 (-12) M 7 (-5, Xmas); M 8 (- 9) Under surgeon's goal and REACHED HEALTHY BMI 12/07/15!! Good morning Diane O.

No weight. Up too late, too much wine. Start today haha

I just don't know what to make of this. The vote count keeps swinging. Things looked better for the President before I went to bed.

One thing is clear now: it's gonna be a lot closer than many people thought. Okay maybe another thing is clear: polling doesn't hold up in this age or with this kind of voter?

Well it's all over and I am grateful for that. I really felt the anxiety and negativity of this. I think we all paid more attention to this election since we have been so much more engaged on social media, etc. than usual.

Weight 127.2. Up 1 pound, 4.2 over desired range. Tacos, wine and crackers...

The Associated Press map doesn't look promising, though right now it is still too close to call. No resounding victories obviously.

We are driving down to Sanibel and Captiva today. Mike usually spends Thanksgiving there with his kids for a week so he knows the islands well. Yesterday we finalized this year's Thanksgiving and we are all happy about it: Sunday DD flies in and we stay at my place; Monday drive to Mike's place to stay until Wednesday; Tuesday airboat ride and taco Tuesday at Gloria Estafan's hotel on the beach; Wednesday drive to Fort Lauderdale to stay Wednesday and Thursday night at a really nice hotel on the beach in a 2 bedroom suite (Justice too); Thanksgiving, etc. with Mike's DS; drive back to my place Friday; DD flies home on Saturday.

Have a safe, healthy and somewhat optimistic day?!

Happy Wednesday to all!

I'm so happy the campaigning is done. It was a very negative campaign season in so many respects.

We amused ourselves on Netflix last night. We are currently working our way through season 2 of The Crown. My age and poor hearing are taking their toll on my enjoyment of the program. The Brits mumble a bit so I don't always catch what is being said. I find that irritating, but I'm the one who knows I need hearing assistance and I keep putting it off, so no one to blame but myself.

Food was pretty decent yesterday, too. Of course, no booze for me, but I did not find myself needing to soothe with food at any time during the day or evening. Weight was steady this morning. I'm a pound + under my PANIC weight.

What happens now politically is well beyond my control, so I have let go. I voted and my voice was counted. I will deal with the outcome, because I have no choice but to deal with it. I plan to make the most of it on a personal level no matter the outcome. As the Jerome Kern song says, "Look for the silver lining..."

Well, off I go to feed dogs and then on to weekly prep and meetings. Wednesdays are my student's favorite day of the school week, but not mine! LOL!

Wishing everyone rainbow and Skittle pooping Unicorns today!

That is a very good perspective to have.

Of course I have a difference opinion from many of you and it's looking like my candidate will lose. Losing isn't fun, whether that's personally, football, or election candidates. I am worried about policy shifts. But I'm trying to take faith in the process. It will likely be divided government so it's unlikely that either party will be able to make too many changes, and if they do...they'll hear about it in 2 years and 4 years.

I think neither party should feel like they have a mandate.

I'm most worried about the oil industry, however I remind myself about the boon that the Obama administration brought to oil and gas. Sometimes these things don't work out how we think.

And...I'm healthy, alive, and snuggling a beautiful baby.

I haven't looked at the electoral map in the past couple of hours, but I think it is a neck and neck race right now. All that has to happen for the President to take the electoral college is for Nevada, Wisconsin, or Michigan to go his way. Then it's a done deal, IMO. There is no way Biden will get GA, NC, or PA.

As for me, I don't think that either party is offering a platform or person I can wholeheartedly get behind and cheer. However, for me personally, the dems currently are offering closer to what I would like to see in an overall platform of inclusivity and more balanced approach to social, economic and foreign policy issues. Truthfully, there was only one candidate I really found exciting and truly worthy of my support. That candidate became the first and only candidate to whom I have ever made a direct monetary contribution. I had hoped Biden would choose him as his running mate. Ms. Harris actually made Biden's ticket less appealing for me.

Well, I guess we will just wait and see what happens.

Happy too, for the respite from political ads, at least until the House of Representatives cycle starts again.

Weight down a bit.

PT was good yesterday. DD, I listened to what you said and didn't cancel Thursdays appointment.

My dad returns to CA today. I'll see them on Saturday I think for USC's football opener.

Have a good day!
