Today we drive to Vero Beach. No stopping as we are tired. I slept about an hour last night.

Yesterday we stopped at Tybee Island (first picture), then St. Simons Island (second picture) on the way to DSD's apartment in Jacksonville. We like St. Simons better but probably won't return there. We had a nice dinner at a restaurant recommended by DSD.

The challenge today is to wake up enough to clean up, put the sheets and towels in the wash, and find the items DSD wants sent. Hopefully the coffee I am currently ingesting will help me accomplish that.

Have a safe, healthy and somewhat social day!

It's been a lot of fun traveling with you through your pictures and posts. Is Vero Beach on the Atlantic side?

This #!@$ weather. My China hutch is out in the garage. It has nice lines and is sturdy, but it's the brown wood from the 80s. It's construction grade wood with a laminate. The laminate is chipped in some places, and I'm tired of color of the stain. I was supposed to be painting it this week, but since its 30 degrees, that's impossible. I don't know if I should call it a day, and haul it back into the house, or leave it out there with the hope normal temps might return. So far, there are none in the extended forecast. Sigh. I've threatened to go buy a new one (black), but this one was expensive in it's day, it's still functional, and I still like it, except for the color.

Today is get our food life in order day. I'm planning to clean the fridge, go to Costco and the regular grocery store, and do some batch cooking of things we like that freeze well. Might be a whole weekend project, because I'm just not the worker bee our Shirl is.

Decent scale drop today, but I suspect some is not enough liquids.

Ugh, TMI, but I lost my second IUD, so it's back to monthly unpleasantness for me. I'm so tired and crampy and ravenously hungry! I need to go to the gynecologist, but I don't know how many options I have that I like the sound of. Where is menopause when you need it??

That's all that's going on here. Hope you all are having a good weekend!

When I was 42, I had an orange sized cyst on my right ovary, possibly cancer. When I woke up in the recovery room, a very kind nurse leaned over and said, there's no cancer, but you had to have a complete hysterectomy. My first thought was not why?, but rather Yesssssssss!!! Turned out I had stage 4 endometriosis, and it was everywhere. The surgeon told my husband he would have been sure I was infertile after looking at my insides, so I left that surgery feeling very, very lucky... two kids, no cancer and no more horrible, on my knees, throwing up periods. I don't recommend a huge cyst to help jump start menopause, but I gotta say, I've never once missed my uterus.

Oh go****hankfully the cramps just make me feel bleh, so not your level of pain! But with the anti-coagulants, I am tied to home for days on end, needing to beg off plans, having to set alarms to wake up during the night... It saps the life out of me. It just sucks to lose part of every month to this. So yeah, menopause would be welcome!
