We are in Hilton Head. Nice hotel/view again and the sun is out right now but it is supposed to deteriorate later. So we plan to go to Savannah today instead of staying two nights. Kind of disappointing as I like this area a lot. We went to a friends place and had dinner with them last night which was very enjoyable.
Diane M, I hope DC's bite is healing without issue. Diane S, keep away from the crazies. Shirl, I am glad you are getting a bit more open again. Such a tough time to be living through. Cecily, such a great job with your weight loss. I am so fearful of what the scale is going to say when I get on it next week.
Have a safe, healthy and social day!

Good Morning all
Quick post as we are on the clock. Up at 6am and about to start mowing before the rain. Need to rush to get gutters cleaned & tidy around sheds as part of Fire Prep. 72 hours was the maximum allocation we could get. Happy to be back here.
Cows are all happy. Fat as mud but content. Crossing fingers for calves to start arriving within the next 2-3 weeks.
I best run. The mower awaits! Hope you all have a lovely evening. Will check in later

Scale was down a little. I went for coffee with my friend this morning. Nice to spend time together. It's funny, I'm not used to so much talking as I've had this week. I'm pooped! Between lunch and a beach walk, talking to my mom's cousin (who sadly never takes a breath, exhausting!), coffee with my friend, 2 therapy sessions, and talking another friend through a project, I'm overwhelmed. And I have lunch tomorrow with a bunch of people (outdoors). Argh. I just want a day where no talking is required. Like the Goldilocks of social interaction, too much, not enough, hard to hit just right...
I'm off to not talk for the rest of the day!
It is strange how talking with some people (or too much in a day) can be exhausting.

Just a pretty ordinary day, except for the apocalyptic snow covering the ground. I did a quick webex meeting with a student to help her finish an assignment, and met in person with another as we developed an action plan for how she can get more academic support on the days she is distance learning, in addition to teaching classes. I find these type of interventions very professionally satisfying, it's rewarding to watch a student shift from not sure how to attack the problem, to feeling confident they have a plan.
Still in the 30s and predicted for the foreseeable future. Average high, high 50s. Today my daughter says she feels terrible that she "stopped" us from going to Florida for our 4 day weekend last week. To me the more salient reason to not go to Florida was we had just been to that wedding. What if we got sick, and couldn't get home. So she doesn't need to feel guilty. In fact, she's calling us to dinner that she cooked, so ...
We have found ourselves wearing our masks and distancing more as we have gotten further south. Though most everyone complied in Hilton Head it is VERY sporadic here in Savannah. I expect Florida will be the same outside of the more elderly communities which we live in.
