Peps, I agree, there is little worse than sitting through a public meeting when the topic up for discussion is already a week old deal. Liz, as a child, we visited southern Myrtle Beach annually for Spring Break. Things got WAY too congested, and we migrated south to condos the Surfside Beach/ Garden City/ Murrells Inlet area where my parents retired and purchased a home. When my mother moved back eight years ago, THAT area has become too busy and we shifted further south to Pawley's Island. How do your and Mike's areas in Florida compare ? It will be interesting to hear what each thinks of the other's winter oasis ! DD, sooo sorry to see the snow ! Those October snows with leaves still on the trees can cause so much damage ! Ceci, good on you for all of the hiking and decluttering !! I love San Clemente ! When does your Dad return from MI ? BB, keep those Halloween pix coming ! My girls LOVED playing dress up in their costumes for the following year !! I agree with your position on presents for children to open !! You seem to be the kind of mom who provides ongoing experiences as the norm ! Shirl, so happy you and mum could rebeautify ! Fingers crossed for getting to the farm !
It will get into the 70s for the next two days, so one last mow, and some leaf taming are on the agenda here. Tuesday, DC and Atlas both went after the same frisbee with GUSTO, and DC was unintentionally bit on the back of the hand. There are two punctures, and one is on the deep side. Atlas let go immediately, and was extremely concerned. We cleaned it well with antibacterial soap, and I pressure bandaged it over night. Against my better judgement, we went with liquid skin yesterday, to watch for signs of infection while keeping the bleeding stopped. Back to dressing changes 2X a day, and a wrapped hand, a*****ture wounds do better with a dressing.

We went through Murrells Inlet on our way to Charleston yesterday because we have friends thinking of moving there. It was definitely better than Myrtle Beach. My area in Port Charlotte is UGLY outside of my park. All boulevards, strip malls, and chain stores. I am guessing that Vero Beach is more attractive. Murrells Inlet has a level of charm that Port Charlotte does not.
Today we drive to Hilton Head. We are meeting up with friends for an island tour and dinner. We might stay two days but it depends on the weather as it looks unsettled for the next few days. Our last 2 stops will be Savannah and Jacksonville/St. Augustine. We will likely be in Vero by Sunday.
Have a safe, healthy and social day!

Back down on the scale. I was last this weight on both June 4 and April 20 with bouncing up and down in between. My weight loss and gain charts are like the craggy Alps...
I'm supposed to talk to my mom's cousin today. I have nothing to talk about! I don't like scheduling time to talk. I feel a lot of pressure. It'll be fine, but I need to think of a nice way to say, let's let the next phone call happen organically. Or just put me on your Christmas card list.
Nothing else happening today, except finding a place to sign the recall Newsom petition. Nothing will happen with that, but I'm disappointed enough in him I feel the need to voice my displeasure. I hope you all have nice days! Diane, my dad comes back Nov 4.
Good Morning All
Last day of the working week for me. We are heading to the farm to check on the cows tonight. Finally received the application for Fire Prevention from the council at 10pm last night - its been filled in and emailed back at 7am. Hard to know if they will be able to process it in time but I will call around lunchtime to enquire. I really feel for them knowing how much work it would have been to pull this together with no prior notice. Frustrating for all concerned.
DH is scheduled to move up to the farm with the dogs and the chooks on 6th November and will likely stay at least 6 weeks till all the cows have calved. I will stay at the city house and travel up and down on weekends. Need to stay in Melbourne to be on hand to care for my mum etc
Not a lot else to report. We went to Costco last night - they issued a $15 voucher as we hadn't been able to shop there during extended lockdown - it helped. Im thankful. Also picked up more Christmas gifts for mum - I've finished my shopping and now helping her get hers done online.
Well I had better get moving. Lots to achieve today before we leave - fingers crossed we get these permits done in time
Have a wonderful evening all

Greetings All
Gallery duty today and it was reasonably busy. Not too much time for the newspaper. I did get one serious nut-job visitor. I guy came in and announced he could buy some earrings. I told him he needed a mask which we offer free. Then he shows me this brown paper bag with writing on it that he says is a very powerful and valuable mathematical theorem and he couldn't tell anyone about it or they would steal it but he wanted to tell me. I told him I had a couple of ladies that needed my help (thank god they were in the store). He finally wandered away. The plaza is a mecca for crazy people.
Ouch Diane M sorry DC was bitten. Something similar happened to me years ago. It healed fine but I am sure you know to watch for absess.
Yeah Peps, don't know why people ask for input when they have already decided. Teaching calls for combat pay right now. People around here are wearing masks in all businesses and we are down to low level alert for now.
DH went to costco and brought home loads of candy. Hope I can stay out of it.
Not much else new. Just hanging in there on covid rules.

OceanDiane, That bite sounds pretty awful for all concerned. Good thoughts for good healing.
The snow cover is still here! It was supposed to be warmer today, and get started on the melting, but 9 inches of snow kept the air too cool. And then rain was predicted for tomorrow, and rain is excellent for snow melting, but now the forecast says it might be freezing rain, or gasp, more snow!
Working from home is a nice break midweek. I had 3 meetings, all of them productive. I got a lot of other things accomplished too.
Trying to get myself back to more controlled eating. Little by little. Today when I wanted to snack, I ate WW free foods like fruit, and Greek yogurt. Might still have eaten a lot of calories, but at least it's higher quality fuel for my body.
