Weight still 125. I am okay with that today as I had some pizza yesterday. This pizza place south of Boston just has phenomenal bar pizza. Good thing I don't live near there.
3 days to departure! Today I am doing a bit more packing and going with Mike to get a few articles of clothing (for him). So funny to be doing that. Our meeting time is dependent on whether I am getting together with a support group friend for lunch or not. Her husband had the exact diagnosis as my DH (a little different than typical Alzheimer's). He just went into care a few months ago and is at end of life now. Almost the identical progression as DH. We are all just praying that he doesn't have to linger too long. It is the lack of sustenance that ultimately causes their death when they are in this state.
On a more positive note, I voted this morning! My mail-in ballot came yesterday. I was thinking that DS would have to send it to me but it arrived just in time.
I am thinking about broaching the idea of asking DS if Mike can come to SIL's birthday party tomorrow. He has met almost everyone and I am leaving on Monday to spend a significant amount of time with the guy. I was hoping DS would make the suggestion. Do you think I should ask DS is he is ok with it (or just leave it alone)?
Have a safe, healthy, and social day!

Scale up today. Bounce, bounce, bounce.
I was out of the house early for a hike this morning with my friend in a part of Bommer Canyon that is normally closed to the public. It's been years since I did this trail, but all I remembered was how steep the hill was. Holy mother of pearl, my memory didn't do it justice! I thought my heart was going to explode. This picture doesn't capture how daunting it was, but the worst part is 1/4 mile, 300 feet straight up to the top of the hill. My highest heart rate was 176. I am out of shape! It's good incentive to get back in shape and at least now I have a place I can measure my progress.
You know I've been cleaning stuff out and that I have a problem with sending breakables to the local charity shops because I've seen how careless they are with boxes of stuff. So yesterday I decided to test the waters selling some dessert plates and bowls on NextDoor. I have a set of 8 each. They were my moms and I haven't used them in 15 years. I looked them up online and saw someone had a set of just 4 plates on EBay for $30. But Ebay seems like a lot of work and again, I would have to pack them well enough not break, which I don't have the patience for. So I listed them all for $40 and within 2 hours someone in my neighborhood bought them! They pick the up this afternoon. So easy and $40 more than I would have gotten giving them away. So I think I'll try again with another couple of items.
I think that's all for me today. I hope you all have good days!
I would ask DS, if you are prepared for him to say no, and being okay with it.
Cecily you are channeling Shel and going for it! Hmm, I like your idea, selling stuff, having someone else actually come and pick it up and take it away, plus leave money. I sometimes leave things on the curb with a free sign, I don't know if that's customary in most neighborhoods, but it is here. I got my son lots of nice stuff for his college apartments in this method, and I'm sure my neighbors were happy to see me throw it my car. I know I love it when I see my stuff go bye bye.
I agree. I like releasing things, so many lovely things I've enjoyed were gifts, so I like the idea if them ending up in the hands of someone who will also feel enjoy them.
One of the most satisfying things I did was give all my plus sized clothes to a friend whose church helped women put together interview outfits. I did have a lot of pretty work clothes, and I loved hearing her stories about how much the women enjoyed going through the racks and finding nice plus sized clothes.
I had a productive day at work, but I was so tired at the end of the day. I stopped at Costco to get some snacks for tonight, and brunch for tomorrow. My son and his girlfriend are arriving tonight for the family wedding tomorrow. I was so tired, I could hardly carry them in. I collapsed on my bed, and then got a second wind. DH, DD and I all tidied up and the house looks kind of nice. I picked what surely must be the last zinnias and cosmos from my garden, and put a few little vases around in the bathrooms and the guest room. And as always, once things are picked up, we will enjoy it too.
I bet it all looks beautiful and calming.
