I had a really nice day with Mike yesterday viewing where he grew up and meeting his sisters. Really enjoyable.

Today we are going to tour around where I grew up, then where my kids grew up (and visit the cemetery). We may see some of my former neighbors as well.

Today would have been Elise's 48th birthday. Here is a video I made from old films of Elise many years ago:

Have a safe, healthy and social day!

What a radiant laugh and smile. And clearly, such a loving big sister. Thank you for sharing a glimpse of your beautiful daughter, and also, the happy family life you created.

A very covid unusual occurrence, I am home all alone. I am enjoying it. My daughter is out at a pumpkin patch and a patio lunch with a friend, DH is at work. I am going to try and get caught up on a paperwork project, it's a one time onerous process of amending IEP s to reflect that special ed service is being provided in a hybrid model. If I can fini**** all up pretty soon, it will be a weight off my shoulders. I'm halfway through, probably about 5 or so hours of work left.

It's very chilly here, but a warm up is coming for 60s and 70s this week, maybe we'll even hit 80 again.

Looking around the house, there is so much I would like to tackle, but I just don't have all the energy I need quite yet. I don't understand how people are bored during retirement. I get to practice it every summer, and I rarely get through my lists, and many things on the lists are "chores" that bring me satisfaction when they're completed, like yard work. I do love my work, but now that I have more or less decided to retire at 62 (3 years), rather than 65, I do yearn for the day....

Scale up a bit today, but not because of me.

My house is clean! Heaven.

The clean out continues. My can is almost full for the week. It's 64 gallons if that tells you how big it is!

In a few minutes I'm heading to an outdoor (ugh, still hot here) class at a friend's house. She has a flower arranging business and teaches workshops in her yard. She was low on participants today so I said I'd sign up. It's a succulent pumpkin class.

Great show alert - if you have Apple+ (I got a year free with my phone), the show Ted Lasso is utterly charming. It stars Jason Sudekis as an American football coach who gets hired to manage a UK football (soccer) club. He is so relentlessly positive, he wins over all the very skeptical Brits.

Good Morning All

Sipping a cup of tea on a beautiful warm Sunday morning, the dishwasher and washing machine is on. Chooks have been released from their coop and puppies are play fighting in the backyard. DH is still sleeping after a dreadful night with an upset tummy. He barely slept. Hoping he feels better soon.

Had a great day pottering in the garden yesterday. I managed to get a glove to fit over my bandaged finger so it would stay clean :) We pulled out the snow pea plants and planted more, pulled up the carrots and turnips. Turned over the beds again and planted more beetroots. In the new beds we planted tomatos, cucumber and zuchinni plus cherry tomatos. I then got to work on starting the next lot of seeds. Sweet corn, dwarf beans and roma tomatos. Also potted up some succulents that had finally started to take root and a couple more indoor plants. Productive day :)

Liz - beautiful video of your gorgeous girl. Her smile lit up every room she entered I bet. Sending you love as you navigate today

DD- Wahoo to having some alone time :) I cheri**** when it happens as its rare. Be kind to yourself and listen to your body. The To Do list will wait :)

Cec - You are doing so well with the clean out. Maybe you can send some inspiration my way..... Im limited what I can do with this finger till it heals. Enjoy the succulent class - would love to see a picture of your masterpiece when finished

Well thats about all my news. Im off to call my mum and see how she slept then it might be another cup of tea while DH sleeps

Have a wonderful day all

Love it! What a great class to attend. Did your friend have all the materials as part of the class?

She did. She does normal arrangements for people/events too, but her main business right now is floral workshops. So she has everything - aprons, tools, pumpkins, succulents, moss, pins, glue guns... all outside, under tents to give some shade. She demos it and then lets people loose to do theirs, then gives pointers. It was a lot of fun. People book her for bridal showers and parties or you can sign up as an individual to one at her home.
