Yesterday was another tough day with nausea, and boob on fire pain, but today looks to be much better. I had tea and crackers, no problem. I'll be having egg and toast for lunch, and it sounds really appealing. I took a pain med last night, and slept really well. So it's all good today.
The company my son works for has an branch in Minneapolis, and on Tuesday morning he has to attend a testing run of a new design. Instead of a hotel, he'll stay with us Monday night. We haven't seen him since mid June. So excited!!!
Last night our daughter had a few friends over for dinner and a bonfire. It was so nice to hear all the laughter floating in from the backyard.
My husband is in the family room watching the Vikings play in an empty stadium. The new normal I guess. Time to brew another cup of tea and join him. He watches the game, I sit on the sofa with him and read. Back in the before Times, I would often go shopping during the game, especially if it was like today's game against Green Bay. Wide open aisles everywhere! Maybe some day I will again. I'm sure I will.

Greetings all, from the smokey north coast
Yep its still smokey here but no fire. A front is supposed to come in soon and clear out the smoke. That will be nice but it just goes to bother someone else.
Cecily, if ever there was a year to make you want to move out of CA, this is it. I could never do the bigger cities - freeways and such are no longer in my skill set. A good friend of mine is moving out of San Diego to Huntsville Alabama. He has family there and can afford a house. Its a university town with aeronautics industry so potential interesting people. But I may never see him again. I know you won't rush into any decision. I think if I could live anywhere else it would be Key West though it may be under water soon. There was a time I would have considered Oregon but not right now.
Liz the only thing cuter than those baby sweaters is if there was a baby in one. What a wonderful legacy. Your MIL was gifted. I agree the owl one is best.
Just returned from trip to the dreaded safeway. It was not too bad. No employees smashing into displays like last time. I go there to get crack - an -eggs since the snooty health food stores don't carry those. For some unknown reason the CHP officers appeared to be having a convention at the post office. And they had no coffee and this town has no donut shops.
Yeah 9-11 sure makes you think. Its my little nephew's birthday. Not sure what his parents have told him about that if anything. He is 6. In our case it was a big factor in deciding to quit our jobs and move to coastal CA. Still glad we did although the lack of healthcare here is getting desperate. If we ever leave here that will be the reason.
DD sorry you are not feeling well. Hope this phase passes. How many more treatments?
Yep, watching football in an almost empty stadium is kind of funny. I saw a game changing touchdown play that was amazing and the announcers were slow to react - I think because there was no crowd noise. Funny. And the cardboard cut outs in baseball just slay me. I think its hilarious. Peps, do you think they would ever have cardboard cut outs to replace spectators at dog shows?
The meatloaf was good - I think I got the proportions right. Can't be bothered with a recipe. Two more dinners then its dog food.
Take care all. Diane S

Have you seen the Bernie from "Weekend at Bernie's" cutout at some baseball games? He's right behind homeplate. If you never saw Weekend at Bernie's, it's where two employees discover their boss is dead and, fearing they'll be implicated in his death, parade him around the Hamptons like he's alive for a weekend.
