Weight 121.8. Too much of my face on the discussion page again!

Yesterday's hike through the dunes at the National Seashore was great but I tend to sweat a lot and I ended up soaked. Oh well, I guess Mike has to see that side of me. We went to the beach afterwards and I replaced the sweat with sal****er. All in all it was a good day. Pictures from our hike below.

Today we are going to the beach here for a couple of hours, then to a friends house for a cookout. This will be their first time meeting Mike.

Have a safe, active, social, and healthy day!

Aaaand my air conditioner died last night. Today and tomorrow it's supposed to be 108. The condenser was louder than normal yesterday so I had called to make an appointment with the hvac people and the earliest appt they had was 9/16. I figured that would be fine. But at 11 last night, I noticed I couldn't hear the condenser fan outside. Panic ensued and I was making mental plans to pack up Ferg and go to my dad's (which has its own issues - the internet and fridge are shut off while they're gone. Plus the house is so big with really high ceilings it takes forever to cool and they are expecting 117.)

Anyway, I started looking on NextDoor for other recommended hvac people I could try (but good luck in a historic heatwave on a weekend) and someone during the last heatwave described the same issue I'm having - an electrical hum, but no fan outside. Several folks chimed in and said it was the capacitor and gave some handyman names who could fix it. I texted one thinking he wouldn't see it until morning, but he texted right back and offered to come over then. Not thinking that felt wise at midnight, I said morning was fine. So he's coming by at 9:30. Keep your collective fingers crossed that's the problem and $225 makes it go away!

Food was fine yesterday. Scale went up a tad. That seems to be the pattern this time, up, up, up... down. I've vacuumed and tidied the downstairs just in case he has to walk through it, lest I embarrass myself.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Ugh!! Glad you have your dad's house as a possible refugee, although not perfect. I see why September in California is not your favorite.

DH has a weirder than normal schedule. He works today, is off Sunday, works Monday and then he has six days off. Looking forward to his days off. Whenever he has a weekday off, he drives me to my radiation. It's really close, and no problem for me to do, but he says he wants to support me whenever he can. I don't know how I got so lucky. When he's not driving me to radiation, he says he is going to finally paint the dining room. I might swoon.

Last night the drive in was amateurish, but fun. Checked in, received some gift bags. They had pylons set up and guided your car to a site. There was plenty of space. A dj was playing some country western, the later sequed to early Madonna, I guess in tribute to her role in the movie. (League of her Own). There was a BBQ food truck (awesome pulled pork), and an ice cream truck. We look our blankets down to the esplanade by the Mississippi river. We were sitting right across from my dorm at the University of Minnesota. I don't know if when I was 19 I appropriately appreciated by unobstructed view of the Mississippi river, from the 5th floor. The huge bank of Windows looked directly onto the river. But I digress. There was tons of space, people like us lounging on blankets, playing frisbee, little kids running round in their jammies, very fun and festive. As it got dark, the mosquitoes came out, time to get back in the car and start the movie. The amateur part, street lights put too much light on the screen, whatever was going on with the screen, there was a flicker, that would make the screen go dark for a second every few minutes. I've seen the movie numerous times, so it was okay for me and my family. So overall, a very nice evening.

Today I am cleaning out some junk drawers. It's an archeological dig. Tossing is easy, harder is deciding what is the best way to store some of the usable but odd ball stuff.
