Weight 121.2, WW meeting this morning (down .6). I don't feel like I am eating on plan a lot of the time though I haven't snacked nearly as much as I do sometimes. Regardless, it has surprised me that my weight has been holding within range. Maybe there is something to this "new love" thing!

Mike and I watched Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone yesterday while it poured outside. He hadn't seen it. We sat like teenagers together on the couch, but with Justice across both our laps. LOL.

Today I am meeting one of Mike's lifelong friends and his wife. I get to be the one passing inspection...

Have a safe and healthy day!

We seem to be entering a bit of an Indian Summer phase here. I hope everyone heeds the social distancing and mask wearing guidelines for Labor Day weekend. At 5 PM Labor Day, we check into Keuka Lake State Park, while everyone else is heading out. We'll come home the next weekend and the week of the 13th. We've rented a cherry picker and rototiller for 09/15 and will get some dead limbs down and turn over our corn garden and areas of the back lawn we want to reseed. Never boring when you are retired. We are having a friend over for dinner tomorrow.... The first time anyone outside of my sister and BIL have been in the house since March !

Diane, your work schedule sounds reasonable AND you get out of PD....SCORE ! Hope your boob is feeling better and your spirits as well. Peps, hope your week ends well. How are things going for Ron ? Ceci, Fergs is so lucky to have you for a mom !! Liz, I'm sure you'll pass inspection ! One look at Mike's face and anyone who loves him will love you !

Ocean Diane, you and DC are certainly industrious people. No way I would be renting a cherry picker to trim my trees! I'm going to have to have my Blue and Heritage Oaks trimmed this year. I am dreading the expense because I will need to hire an expert to do these trees. They have to be done much differently than faster growing deciduous trees. Like Crepe Myrtle, a lot of the trimming on these Oaks is done by snapping branches, rather than cutting.

Liz, your delight in your new love is shining through like a beacon! LOVE IT!

Ceci, so glad Fergus got a little spring in his step yesterday. You're the best mom to honor him in the moment.

Diane C. - wishing you a cooler boob today. I have had experience with burning skin due to chemical reaction, so I can relate and sympathize. I'm guessing it feels similar - super intense, isolated sunburn to the 10th power type of feeling.

Diane S., glad Tesla and Chip are doing well and that Tesla managed her snake ingestion well. LOL! Good to know that Chip is just old and not sick. Old is okay.

Whooooo Hooooo! Brand new low weight for me since August 2019: 264.7. Go figure. I am not dieting or watching calories really at all. What I am doing is trying to pay attention to hunger and listen to what sounds like the right thing to eat. I am finding during the day (mid morning to mid afternoon) I am drawn to protein and fruit. Later afternoon there is more of a draw towards fats and carbs. Evening there is once again an appetite for protein and salad - so I'm guessing protein, fat, and a few carbs. I also like to add a starchy carb at dinner, but I think that is habit and my traditional meat and potatoes leanings when it comes to dinner.

Yesterday I was a bit riled up and feeling stressed due to an utterly worthless PD. It would have been a great PD for future teachers going through a credential program, but it was insulting to someone who has spent 29 years in classrooms. I ended up logging off the PD a few minutes early and put my energy taking care of my list of things to get done. Consequently, I did not eat anything until after noon. I think I finally ate around 12:15. I ended up eating too much of the mango I had cut up and felt a bit nauseous. Luckily, I didn't get the foamies, or have that horrible esophageal sphincter pressure - just a queasy tummy. I HATE that queasy feeling. Luckily it passed in about 90 minutes, but it was a good reminder to slow down and listen.

Anyhow, I think the late, late breakfast, followed by nothing more than a banana and paleo bar for lunch at 3:30 must have been the catalyst for being more than a pound down today from yesterday. I fully expect the scale to go up a bit tomorrow.

Had another good cardio session on the elliptical yesterday. I am feeling very good about having made the decision to invest that money in myself and my health. Tonight is training in the new garage gym, which is FANTASTIC! I am so grateful to my trainer for having "built it" for us. It is a garage gym made for lifters! And since that's what I love, YAY!

Cheers

I love your stories about your changing relationship with food. It seems that you are at peace with your choices in a way that you haven't been before. If you went back over your posts during the last few years, it would be interesting to know what a-ha moments you strung together to arrive at this place you are at now.

Hi all, doing emotionally better today. I met with radiology oncologist, and she was more than willing to write me a prescription to help me sleep. Dropped it off at the pharmacy on the way home, it will be ready this afternoon. I am running a slight temperature, 99.8, luckily not over 100, so I could still have my treatment today. I am going to try and nap now. No working this afternoon.

Diane, your camping plan sounds relaxing. Teachers get to practice retirement during the summer, and I think being able to do things on weekdays and avoid the crowds is wonderful.

Liz I agree with Diane, Mike's friends are going to welcome you because you make Mike so happy. Once they get to know you, they'll think they are lucky that Mike found you, and brought you into their lives.

The scale moved down 0.8 pounds. Whew! I walked with my friend this morning. Not much else to talk about.
