Weight 121.6. My day is NOT off to a good start. I dropped my iPad and killed it. I am so not happy with myself.
Lunch with SIL, SIL's cousin and boyfriend, plus Mike and me went well yesterday. Lots of reminiscing by SIL, cousin and I but we all got along. SIL said Mike seemed great.
Today I leave for Newburyport for two days (with no iPad, arghhhh). I am meeting a friend for dinner tonight but spending the day with Paul and my memories tomorrow. Somewhat feeling sad already. But first I have to pack and get my annual physical.
Have a safe and healthy day!

These electronic tools, fragile, but we can't live without them. I hope your time alone gives you time to laugh, cry, celebrate, mourn, and helps you move towards this new chapter in your life.
DH has today and tomorrow off. We were going to go kayaking after my radiation, but hard to tell right now if it's going to rain. We plan to go to one of the lakes in Minneapolis. We'll have to be done before 8pm (which of course we will), because there is civil unrest again, and there is a curfew. I'm hoping all the pain manifested on the streets throughout our country birth a new more just social agreement.
Tomorrow is our 33rd wedding anniversary. We're going out to breakfast with our daughter, and then in the evening, we're meeting up with some friends for an outdoor concert. We've attended events there before, and they are attentive to social distancing. We haven't been in their tent though, that's new, I'm hoping there is good air flow. It's next to a lake and is usually super windy, so there should be. It's just a tent ceiling, not tent sides. I trust this venue, so it should be okay. I hope. I'll let you know Sunday morning if I risked my very life for live music.
Enjoy the concert! I have so missed the outdoor concerts which are usually on Cape Cod during the summer. And we apparently share our anniversary date. We would have been 39 years.

I learned a lesson yesterday... NEVER recommend your doctor to anyone. There's a woman in my knitting group who also has a house in Martha's Vineyard. She and her husband wanted to get Covid tested after their flight home from their summer there so they didn't feel the need to quarantine here for 2 weeks. Their doctors wouldn't do it as they were doing it as a precaution and not because of symptoms. She had heard my doctor was doing tests for people and that my friend (who had Covid) had been really pleased with the speed of their testing.
So when this woman asked, I sent her a link to their website and pointed out that it said testing is taking much longer due to backlogs at all the labs that process tests. She clearly chose not to read or to listen to me. They had their tests done and 10 days on when I saw her on Zoom yesterday, she did not have her tests back. She apparently was so mad, she left a one star review for my doctor on Yelp and was ripping him on the zoom call saying how upset she was to not have her tests back. My doctor has no control over how long the tests take!
Here's the kicker - their tests were put on hold to process tests for AN ENTIRE NURSING HOME WITH AN OUTBREAK because This woman and her husband had no symptoms. And she was angry!! I was flabbergasted. And after the Yelp review, my doctor returned their telehealth appoint fees and she still won't change her review. My knitting group is a church group. Sometimes I think churchgoing people feel like going to church absolves them from being a decent person the other 6 days of the week. She clearly leaves any messages in her pew on the way out.
I messaged my doctor apologizing for sending her there and telling him I was mortified. I now have this woman's "number" and will never interact with her again if I can help it. Unbelievable.
Aside from burning calories with my white hot anger, I didn't do much yesterday aside from therapy and zoom knitting. But I did have a good food day. Fergie is asking for a walk, so I have to go. Have good days all and don't recommend your doctors to anyone!
Unbelievable! Sounds like she feels entitled, something which should not exist in a situation like this! Just a learning experience for you - don't stew on it.
