Great insight - eating to fill the voids. Boy does that resonate!

Good Morning All
Thursday is finally here and we will leave for the farm at 2.30pm. DH will work on the way up so I will drive the first leg. We packed the trailer last night - there is actually room in one side of the garage now. More to go but its a welcome start
Dinner last night was delicious - Spinach and Three Cheese Ravioli - I made a creamy sauce with homegrown spinach & snow peas, onion, roasted capsicum and some seasonings. DH enjoyed it - even after I reminded him that he was eating a vegetarian meal ha ha ha. Small amount of leftovers for lunch today.
Our numbers are continuing down. Lots are finding it very hard - myself included but I can contest its been a positive move in bringing us through our second wave. There is an enquiry at present at it started with hotel quarantine - lots of tension re employees not being correctly trained on how to deal with infectious diseases and a raft of other claims. I hope they get some answers for the poor families that have lost their elderly loved ones - Aged care has been hit very hard and the numbers of deaths are still climbing in that area. Makes me so sad
Diane O - our calves are due in November/December. I am hopeful that we will be at a restriction stage whereby I can move up there while they calve. Our 3 elder girls should be ok but we have 2 first timers so I want to watch them closely and bring in help if needed. Fingers crossed we end up with 5 healthy calves on the ground by Christmas. I cant wait. You will have to let me know what you ended up cooking for dinner from the Bison place. DH and I shared a bison burger whilst in Indiana Wells last year - it was yum
Liz - Im with Diane - I love seeing you so happy. You deserve it 1000 times over
DD- Glad the first treatment went ok and you have so much wonderful support. Your DD sounds like a total gem
Cec - I could never tire of your posts - in fact you often voice what I feel in a far better way that I could. We are like a second family so vent away - there will always be an ear xxx
Ive just made a second cup of tea after going up to let the chooks out of their overnight coop - 2 of our new hens have laid from the perch overnight - their first eggs and somewhat of a surprise for them as they dropped from a decent height - needless to say the puppies had a shared 2 broken eggs brekkie this morning. Heres hoping tommorrow they lay in the nesting box. Im happy as it signals that Spring is nearly here and better weather. Sunshine has a way of lifting your spirits - well it does for me
Love to you all
S
Oh I will have to remember that
So many different names for things
I remember I used to confuse Ann with all the aussie slang sayings - like chook for chicken etc
Big hugs to you my friend
Oh and watermelon is a match made in heaven with fetta, red onion and mint - reminds me of summer ( I can dream )
It was good! But, I have a mango that I'm going to add to it tomorrow. I think that will make it a little bit more tropical and "fun". The cilantro added a twist that I really enjoyed. We were thinking that a little balsamic vinegar tossed in with a couple teaspoons of sugar might add a nice richness to the flavor. Might give that a try, too.
