Fall is on the way here !! Woke up to temperatures in the low 40s !! Love sleeping with the window open and snuggling under the comforter ! Leg is almost completely healed, and I swear by medihoney ! It comes over the counter and by Rx and truly speeds up healing. The CA fires look horrendous ! Stay safe out there !! DD, loved your post about the new recommendations from NP !! How sweet of you to consider your husband ! Smitten Kitten indeed ! Shirl, you always have a project or two in progress ! We're looking at a wine barrel gas fire pit next. I can hear the ache for your grandchildren ! Liz.. my FL will be so new and exciting this year !! How will SIL factor in ? Are they supportive of your relationship with Mike ? DS will come around when he sees how happy you are ! BB, always enjoy your posts and the way your mind works. Some alone time with DH sounds great ! Ceci, so sorry for your heat and the energy restrictions. Trying to sleep when it is hot is such a challenge !

Isn't it amazing how quickly fall starts to sneak in? It was cool here last night too - so good for sleeping. I'm glad you are almost healed. That honey does sound like a great option for wound healing.

Yesterday ended up being a fantastic day for catching up with friends. We had a fun zoom with our Florida friends (only one of whom is currently in Florida). Then DS made a phenomenal dinner for his Dad's childhood friends who have also been mine for more than 40 years. DS thought of it as being the continuation of the annual dinners we did with them for 25 years followed by 12 years of the same but more sporadically. He commented that only 2 were missing: one friend was on a bike ride in NY state and the other was looking down on us (DH):

Today I am going to Mike's for the day to bike ride with his granddaughter and son-in-law, beach and out to dinner. On the question of family/friend support everyone is good with it except DS (but he isn't opposed either- just uncomfortable). If I go to Florida with Mike in the fall SIL wouldn't be going anyway because she has a new grandson arriving in early November. We will play it by ear for the spring if I am still seeing Mike.

That's it for Thursday except I am 120.6 this morning so still staying in the low end of my weight range which makes me happy. Oh and all 3 of my living children are under my roof this morning!

Have a safe and healthy day!

Liz, having all 3 living children under your roof is indeed a great blessing. I feel such peace and contentment when both kids are home, and as I drift off to sleep, I hear the murmur of their voices drifting in from the family room.

Diane, I am very intrigued by the healing/health properties of honey. When my daughter did a semester abroad in Italy, she said many of their Italian professors encouraged them to have a spoonful of honey everyday for good health. We visited a little flower farm in Door County, and they also sold eggs and honey from their own hives. I bought some because it just seemed like it was all too idyllic :) Maybe I'll add a teaspoon to my eating day from time to time.

Weigh****chers has a 2 ingredient dough (yogurt and self rising flour, in our case 3 ingredients since we added baking powder to regular flour). I was VERY skeptical, but it's pretty good! Depending how you divide the dough, it's 2 or 3 points. My daughter made "bagels" and topped them with Trader Joe's Everything Bagel seasoning. They were yummy! And can be toasted the next day. Used one to make an egg sandwich. Last night I made flatbread Margarita pizza. I had a lot of cherry tomatoes that needed to be used up. I roasted them in the oven with fresh basil, garlic and kosher salt till they were soft. Cooked the "flatbread" made from the dough, spread tomatoes, sprinkled on shredded mozzarella. My pizza was 5 points, and I couldn't fini**** This dough is a game changer for us.

Today's doctor appointment is bone density scan. Easy peasy. I need to go grocery shopping too.

Rumors that the level of positive Covid numbers in our county may require a pivot to distance learning. Nothing to do but carry on and flex when asked.

Good Morning All

Another cool morning here - havent put the puppies outside yet. Got a lot of rain overnight so chook pen is like a swamp.

Not a lot to report here - we are at the city house this weekend. Its forecast for cold and lots of rain so dont know that we will get much more done outside. Maybe in between the rain?

TGIF - Im feeling very unmotivated this week - hoping next week is better. We are halfway through our Stage 4 lockdown on Sunday. I wont lie Im finding it much harder than the first one but just need to keep plodding along

Love to all

Must apologize for being in absentia - especially since I asked those I've been missing to post!

It was so nice to read the words of familiar faces the past few days.

How funny, we too had a cool morning. It was 65 degrees this morning when I got up at 6:30. However, the smoke was too thick to open the windows and let the cool morning air cool off the house. Booooooooo! Only got up to the mid 90s today so it felt much more bearable. The smoke made being outside unpleasant, so it was an indoor day.

I am EFFING exhausted from my first week of online teaching. I am spending about 3 hours per day right now teaching LIVE. That may not sound like much, but when you consider that it takes about 2 hours of prep for each hour of live online teaching, that's a long day. I dare any sane, rational adult to take 23 third graders and teach them how to manipulate two screens, log into a brand new page with never before seen software and page set up, answer the raised hands, the melt downs, and frustrations all from a remote location with a Zoom grid screen as the only form of communication and still be smiling by the end of the session. Dare you! HA! Because that was me today. I am friggin' Superman!

My eating has been a little carb heavy the past two or three days. I think it is because I am more tired than normal. I am chocking the fatigue up to the change in schedule and sleeping hours, meal times, and an exertion of mental energy that I have not had to expend in some months. Weight bounced up to 268 and is holding steady in the mid to high 267s.

My gym is now closed forever. So sad. Good news is that my trainer has set up her own home gym and will be teaching from her garage. That is better than no gym at all! I also have made arrangements to purchase an elliptical trainer for home use. I am getting a Matix E5X model, which is a pro model sold only to gyms. It sells for close to $4k new. The one I'm getting was in a small privately owned gym for 6-8 months. It looks brand new. I'm paying about 30 cents on the dollar. Will pick it up on Saturday. Ron is concerned about its placement. Garage - guest room - office - I don't care as long as I can work out. I don't foresee gyms opening here before next spring. Gyms are in the last of the reopen categories in CA.

At 10:47, this is about all I got!
