Weight 121, well deserved slight up. Eating out twice yesterday! It is getting to be a habit, but at least Mike and I took a really long walk along the beach and marsh.

For now, the heat wave has broken in Massachusetts. It was low 70's and rainy yesterday and is supposed to be the same today and tomorrow.

Today I am doing fun stuff like laundry, errands, make the bed, and pack for tomorrow's overnight. One night but what should I bring for dinner out and meeting the other daughter on Tuesday? Such dilemmas...

Have a safe and healthy day!

It's 94 degrees with 50% humidity. So NOT the kind of weather we are used to here. I posted some nice lightning video on my FB feed my friend Kathryn took this morning. Expected high today is 103, so down a bit from yesterday.

Eating still on point. I had a nice chat with Ron at dinner last night about my eating and the changes in behavior. It was nice that he acknowledged the lack of bingeing and mindfulness around my eating. Our conversation also helped me solidify that I'm not doing the "same thing" this time. I'm not dieting with the expectation that I will arrive at a number and there I will be for the remainder of my life. I am really approaching weight loss in a whole new way. It's not about losing weight, but instead addressing recovery from my eating disorder. The process is slooooowwwww. I have lost 7 pounds in 7weeks. But, I've lost a total of 9 pounds since March 13. I'm kind of proud of myself for not gaining, but losing during the Covid19 restrictions and stress.

I have to focus this week on how going back to work, using a new teaching format, dealing with new stresses, etc... triggers my old eating habits and coping mechanisms. That also means I need to be prepared for those triggers, whatever they may be, with some options for healthy foods for emotional coping. I can also try to use my awareness of what I'm feeling, actually deal with the emotion and not eat at all to cope. Well, at least I know that's an option. Wouldn't I be evolved if I could manage that? LOL!

I am feeling a little anxious about tomorrow, so I'm going to run to school and just troople doople check that I am ready to go.

I think you have been doing fantastic in evolving to a different relationship with food, but those old triggers can be tough to deal with. Keep doing what you have been doing and you will be fine.

The weather is beautiful here on my porch, where I have spent the afternoon reading all tbd newspapers that piled up while we were away.

Yesterday we took a ferry to an island in Lake Michigan, and you can see we did make the visit to the lavender farm. Truly lovely to open the car door, and get a whiff of lavender scented breeze. The rows of lavender were filled with bees going about their work. We went back to the mainland, and stayed to watch the sun set over Lake Michigan, and then started the long drive home. We arrived about 1:30 am. At about 11:30 we started the soundtrack to Hamilton. Get us awake. :)

Slept late, read, and sent back to my eating plan. Tomorrow, back to lots of "chores", but today, still relaxing.

Peps I'm happy to see you gain so much peace around the issue of food. Weight loss, though it is slow, is a happy consequence, but I think finding ways to deal with the eating compulsions is the real success.

Liz, it is kind of a big deal to be going away with your beau, isn't it? I hope meeting his daughter goes well, it's a lovely getaway.

Yes it is kind of a big deal. We will see how it goes. Just one night but still...

Good Morning All

Back after a busy weekend at the farm. All the cows are doing well - very wet up there but once the fog/mist cleared it was a lovely sunny day for the most part. Think we will have a very good spring.

Got lots done and left Sunday around 10am to head back to city house. We will try and get back up in a fortnight again.

Not a lot on today - DH is waiting on click and collect notification from Hardware store - so he has the materials to finish the back path. I need to try and sort out a failed hardware delivery - of course they came 19 mins after we left on Friday. The bummer is they have taken it 16kms to their depot and Im only allowed to travel 5kms with current restrictions. Not sure how thats going to work but will call them shortly to try and sort out

Liz - Hope the overnight stay goes well as does meeting his other daughter :)

Peps - Loving seeing all the love you put into making the re-start of school year super special. They are very lucky to have you indeed

DD - Welcome home - have loved seeing your trip pictures. It looked wonderful.

Hello to all who follow - I need to get back to it. Its hard to stay motivated at present .......

One would think the daughters would be tougher than his son, but his son is an FBI agent!
