Last morning in NH! It has been so beautiful and serene here (good word, serene). Eating has been pretty good, but wine was consumed both nights and I enjoyed it! We are leaving by mid-day and hopefully won't hit too much traffic on the way back to Cape Cod. I kind of forgot we would be returning on a Friday. We only have two bridges from the mainland and Friday afternoons can be quite painful getting over there.

Mike and I have been texting/talking a lot. Kind of nice. He definitely has a lot of the same interests.

Here is my walking route from yesterday (from red circle to green one and back) - 4.25 miles. We are staying at where the red circle is:

And here is the lake as the sun rose this morning:

Have a safe and healthy Friday!

Liz, ohh, Friday traffic is a &$$#. Hope there is a lull as you try to get back on the Cape. Maybe it's not as bad during Covid, because people who can work remotely might not wait until Friday to travel.

Today is going to be a lay around day. I may be pushing it a little too hard. My incision is troubling me more (healing?). My boob is super swollen. Icing frequently. Last night I got up at 1:30am and got on the internet to order some sports bras. I have a "sleeping bra" that I thought would be gentle on my incision, but it isn't supportive enough. I'm been wearing my heavy duty wacoal underwires 24/7. If it wasn't Covid, I'd go to the store today. Oh well. They arrive Sunday.

So in honor of taking it easy, I think I'll start a new novel. Books have always been a joy and a refuge, even more so in the season of Covid.

Hope your drive home is uneventful and free of Friday rush hour escapee traffic, Liz!

I have now experienced a Covid test. Not super unpleasant, but somewhat uncomfortable. I was not expecting the continued stirring in the upper nasal cavity, so that did catch me by surprise. Best way I can describe it is that it felt like the RN was trying to stir in the syrup for chocolate milk when she took the nasal samples. The nice thing is that I will get my results on Sunday or Monday because my procedure is on Tuesday. Beats the heck out of my brother and dad's tests! My brother's results didn't come for over 2 weeks. My dad's came back in 10 days.

Weight is continuing to decrease. Down another pound and a half today. I have now dropped 4+ of the 6 pounds. I'm sure the next two will be a little more slow in coming off. I'm good with that.

Made Liz's banana pancakes this morning and have two ripe bananas waiting to make Ceci's muffins!

While in Ohio I observed a lot of "normal" looking men. Sort of your Every Man, Average Joe types. No one extraordinary, but many nice looking average weighted men. No underwear models. No beefcake types. Just normal men. Some had little bellies. Some had big guts. Some had no gut at all and were absolutely flat. What I realized is that none of these men were perfection, nor were they repulsive. They just WERE. So I got to thinking that I would like to be average, too. I don't need to hold myself to an impossible standard. I'd like to wear a polo shirt tucked into a pair of khakis and feel good about how I look and move. I can visualize being at a casual summer show and wearing that outfit and feeling great. There is no number attached to this either. It's a vision of myself being where I am comfortable. I kind of like the feeling I get thinking about this goal. It seems so doable and real.

Day 4 of not ostriching behind me and well into day 5. It feels good. Less like I'm bursting at the seams. Which with the plastics-tightened stomach muscles is a real and really uncomfortable feeling.

My birdbath came for the succulent arrangement! It's on a pallet on the side of my driveway. I need to unwrap it and figure out how to get rid of the pallet. Then pull the pathetic azalea that is currently in its ultimate spot. And then wrestle it's 125 pounds into the backyard. The fun part will be shopping for the plants.

Anyway, that's it for now.

Greetings All

What a cool lake Liz. Glad you got to go there. Mother Nature truly is the best nurse.

Cecily, a 125 pound bird bath!!! Sounds like you will need some help with that. If it were mine it would sit where delivered for about 2 years. Glad you got some socializing in and some good tears. Everyone needs that.

So little is going on here. Went out to the pharmacy and to pick up half and half that DH forgot in his Target and costco run today. He had lunch with his buddies at the marina cafe which is a lovely outdoor place. DH brought home most of his lunch which will be dinner tonight. Paid bills and washed the dog blankets from the sofa. Yesterday was a gallery day and while there were quite a few visitors, not much sales. I found myself wishing people would go away so I could take my mask off. Not a very useful attitude.

Fortunately, befor I went out I figured out that my t shirt was on inside out. But around here no one would notice or care.

So my cholesterol is high (always has been) and I can't take statin drugs. So my doctor lectured me about not eating cheese. I said ok, but fat chance. I will take red rice yeast which I did years back and I think it works.

DD sorry you are having pain. I saw a sort of combination bra/camisol on spanks that looked like it might be comfortable boob support. Hope you find something that works. I gave up the underwire armor years ago and only wear stretchy stuff in which I look like a sack of melons but who cares. Hope you feel better.

Peps looking like the average guy is a totally good concept. Good on ditching the travel ###. Why does travel cause us to blow up? For me its pretty much anything.

Time to start trying to convince the dogs to eat something. Cheers.
