Weight 122.8. I too am ostriching and not doing what I need to to drop lower in my range. I keep hoping it will just happen, LOL.

We are waiting for the remnants of the hurricane to come by this afternoon and evening. It's not supposed to amount to much except some wind and showers.

Lunch date with tall coffee guy was good yesterday. He is super intense about everything though so he might be too exhausting to spend much time with. Another lunch date today with a guy who was a CFO at several prominent companies prior to retirement (my googling skills come in so handy!). He sounds pretty interesting to talk to and seems to have some similar interests. I will report back!

Tomorrow DS and I are leaving early for NH to visit friends on a lake for 3 days. I may not be able to post in the am, but if not will check in later from there.

In the meantime have a safe and healthy Tuesday!

Dropping off flowers at my nephew's house was fun. We chatted in the driveway for awhile and caught up on the wedding plans. Very stressful for brides and grooms to decide what to do, in an already stressful endeavour.

My family looked at me incredulously when I announced I was going kayaking this week. My daughter asked me to demonstrate the paddling motion. Ummm, ouch!!! Just mimicking it my incision ached for 2 hours. Guess I'm not going kayaking yet.

Still a bit coolish here, a preview of fall. It's supposed to return to the 80s this week.

Liz, going to a cabin sounds absolutely delicious. My parents live on a lake, and that used to function as our cabin. Staying at their house is off limits right now. I miss waking up to the lake, and drinking my tea on the dock. My Dad didn't even put the dock out this year.

One day of not ostriching under my belt. By 7:30pm, I looked down and saw I had all of 1000+ steps for the day. Yikes. Talk about sedentary. So I threw on my shoes, headed out, and got it up to 7000.

This morning I went to get my thyroid blood draw done. What an ordeal post-Covid! Though very organized. A security guard directed people entering the 3 story medical office lot from the right side of your car so as not to get close to the driver's window. They had a rat's maze taped out on the sidewalk outside. Dr. appointments to the right, labs only to the left. Everyone was screened for symptoms and potential interactions, temperatured, and given new masks if theirs were the kind with vents (surprising number of those), and stickered with a "screened" sticker. They had pop up sideless tents to keep people from having to stand in the sun. Chairs every 6 feet in the maze. It took an hour until I was let into to the lab for the draw. No more people than usual having blood taken, but it's different when no one can wait inside. Even appointment people had to wait outside.

I was happy to get out and get some coffee in me. Endocrinologist appt is next week, so at least I know their drill before I go for that.

This AM, I had a Whole Foods/Amazon delivery. It arrived an hour past my appointed window, but everything seemed not terrible temp-wise and the poor guy was running back and forth to his car. I think that's a very demanding company to work for, so I won't complain or answer the survey. The only thing I'm not sure about are fudgesicle bars (100 cal). But we'll see if those were ruined later.

Ferg is snoring loudly like a old man next to me.

Anyway, off to find something to occupy myself. Take care!

Lunch date with the former CFO was AMAZING! More details tomorrow. I need to mull it over but wow.

Back home. Feeling pretty wiped out after a day of 19 hours of traveling. That's a pretty long time, isn't it?

Spent the morning on Zoom in meetings for school. Booooo...... Have to run some errands for my dad. He is out of essentials.

I didn't realize I am considered an essential worker, but I am. Who knew?!

Was amazed to find I had put on 6 pounds in the week I was away - especially since my eating was not off the rails at all. I think it may be more the water retention from yesterday's travel, plus a mild 2 pound gain. That would make sense to me. 6 pounds of real weight does not make sense at all.

Nice to catch up and check in.

Long travel - Time to relax! I'm sure most of that weight is definitely water retention.
