Good boy, Stiefel! I know that scream. We had an 80 acre play-farm/ranch in the middle of numerous other very large landholders (most beautiful piece of God's earth ever!) Bobcats under the cherry trees-deer in the creekbottom-turkey in the wheat.....etc. One night, there was Armageddon in the front yard - the most nightmarish sounds- our small lab/shepherd mix and some beastie from hell having at it. Then quiet. Like you, we knew one or the other... Next morning we found a dead raccoon the size of a Volkswagen under a tree- no dog in sight. Later that day Zero came limping in- a bit worse for wear, but victorious.
Scary/"funny later" raccoon story! I was off the food wagon last week too. Trying to recoup this week. And the damn teeth - must be age! I am scheduled for a crown, but a piece broke off the tooth next to it a couple of days ago. Arghhh...

Greetings Covid Confined
Yeah this virus is getting old and we don't have it bad here. I would like to go to a nice restaurant without sitting in an isolation booth. Guess we could do some of the ones that have outdoor dining but I really prefer to be inside for a dinner.
Hope to get to the pool today. Old dog Chip is eating better now that we walk him more. Plus got a roasted chicken from safeway for his dining pleasure and ours.
We are in season 3 of Bosch. Don't know what we will do when thats done. We watched a movie called "Midsommer" the other night. It was both creepy and terrible. Don'****ch it. I might have mentioned we watched The Inviible Man - the newer one. It was quite good - spooky but good spooky.
Lordy I have been sleeping a lot. Sleep late and go to bed early. Watch a little tv in the middle of the night. A recipe for gaining weight.
Liz you party animal! Glad SIL party was good and you are doing some fun things. I need to have my studio buddy over for an outdoor glass of wine. Trouble is, I buy some of the good stuff for this purpose then drink it myself.
What Cecily, you are trashing the calla lillies!!! I so love those. If I were here I would come get the ones you don't want. How are the witchy woods doing.
Saw a post from Ann on facebook. Hope thats a good sign.
Time for laundry. Maybe a trip to the hardware store. Big adventure.

I like callas too, Diane, but they look good for about a month here. Once it gets hot, they wilt and die back leaving the bed half empty. But despite looking dead most of the year, they are apparently affronted to have their siblings ripped out and are staging a come back. Crazy! You would be most welcome to them! The witchy woods have not been touched as it got hot and I lost interest in being outdoors. I need a cold snap...
Bosch is so good isn't it???
I actually love eating outside and I will be sad when it is too cool here to do that. Do invite that friend over.
I will look for Ann's post. I miss her!

Good Morning All, Didnt make it here yesterday but had a productive day around the house. Still waiting on test results so housebound. Got washing done, cleaned bbq cover n scrubbed dog bowls while DH pressure washed the chook house. Helped put it all back together then trimmed the front garden. DH continued working on retaining wall. I added soil & rocks to area in front of front deck. Will plant succulents I think. My succulent bowl inside is going great guns.
Today is hand washing moving blankets we brought down from the farm. DSD needs them in a little over a week & the mice have been in them YUCK! Then will help DH finish the wall.
Weary and waiting for our next announcement. There is strong talk we are about to go into next stage lockdown- who knows what that will be but speculation is it will be hard like NZ did.
Love to you all. Here are some pictures of yesterdays work
