DH and I have been taking our canoe out, so I can keep my leg dry. I ordered and received an open water swimming floatation tube which belts to your waist to make swimmers visible in open water and to offer some buoyancy, if needed. There are several people who swim a mile across the lake every day, some both ways ! I hope to do that before long ! Leg is improving?slowly? but in the right direction.
Liz, you have your head on straight about dating ! You are too special a person to settle. Hope the knee is better and eager to hear about coffee with the tall guy. DD, positive thoughts for continued recovery, with more flowers and treats showered upon you. Eager to hear what oncologist says about results, treatment and implications for teaching. Peps, good for you on the donations of suits ! Those men will have additional confidence going forward in job searches. Loved pictures of the pack in the yard with their bones?reminded me of lions on the savanna !!! The release of food/eating angst is fabulous !! BB, I was doing Omeprazole 40 mg. 2X per day, and my Dr. switched me to Esomeprazole once a day. It is working for me, and I concur with avoiding revision to RNY !! Shirl, I can totally relate to the hard shut down leading to despair and anger. That was March for me !! Fortunately, those drastic restrictions continue to yield good results here, four months later. Hang in there ! Diane, sorry to hear DH is experiencing lock down stress. Hopefully he?ll continue to find gadgets and interests like the plant application that don?t drive you too crazy ! Congrats on your cardiac report ! CC, enjoy your roots !! Good on you for using your emotions list. Glad your dad is improving !!

Good morning Diane! I'm glad you can get out on the water in the canoe (and it is apparently not too hot to do so). It is so DRY and HOT here. We barely get any rain from the showers that come over the mainland.
Weight 122.4 (up .2 even though I ate completely on plan yesterday - annoying). I am determined to stay on plan at least until Thursday when I may go out to eat with family and then of course there is my SIL's Birthday party on Friday.
Tall guy was nice. A bit older (71), but very tall and lean. Some similar background, but he is super intense. Possibly too much so? He bikes 20+ miles a day and has had several injuries as a result - 1 dislocated shoulder and he is currently healing from a broken clavicle which they had to put together with a plate and screws. He might be better suited to my friend Robyn who bikes at least that much or more and goes on bike trips all the time (too bad she is married - her DH doesn't bike). He mentioned that his former wife would go mountain biking with him though that was a bit out of her comfort zone... Hmmm... not sure I want to go out of my comfort zone. But he is super family oriented and seems to do fairly well. He has a summer home on Martha's Vineyard and a small cottage on the mainland near his granddaughters (children of his deceased son).
I am meeting another tall guy (not as much older) for coffee or lunch on Thursday. He has been sending me lots of notes which I ignored at first because he lives further away then many, but I decided what the heck.
In the meantime, today is beach all day! The housekeeper comes in 15 minutes so I am going to clear out then. I am going to get iced coffee and bring it and one of my WW muffins to the beach. My SILs will meet me a little later in the morning.
Have a safe and healthy day!

Quick pop in to say "Hey" before I take off for the week. I am feeling comfortable about the trip, except for the plane part.
BB, I, too have reflux since WLS. However, I have been on Protonix (pantoprazole) for several years now. I have absolutely no reflux when I take one dose each morning. It works so well that I can miss a dose with no ill effects.
Whatever I am doing with my food intake is working. I will swear on a stack of bibles that I am not dieting. Yet, my weight is creeping down. 265.4 today. So, eating for health and satisfaction seem to be doing the trick. No complaints here.
Will do my best to check in when I can.
It sounds like you need to just keep focusing on healthy, satisfying eating!

Back from meeting with the oncologist. Tumor is staged at 1A, so besides them saying, sorry, this was all a misunderstanding and you don't have cancer, it's the best outcome. I don't have to do chemo, which is very good news. I will start radiation in a few weeks, and only have to do 4 weeks, not 6. What to do about school? The doctor and I agree that I can return to work with no issues if it is distance learning, and take sick days as needed. She wasn't overly concerned about radiation making me more vulnerable to covid 19 in the event school is in person. I said I was super anxious about it, and would want to take a few weeks of medical leave to make sure I was 100%, and she said she would get me what I needed. Our Department of Education is releasing it's recommendations July 30. Our district will then take those recommendations and formulate their final plan and release it on August 4/5. So much uncertainty. Trying very hard to just roll with it and let go of what I can't control ...
Oh, yay on the visit w/oncologist! "A" means the cancer was totally contained, right? What a relief - just a clean up and good to go- so be it.
Our school district is back in session on the 17th with all (only a few exceptions) in attendance. the thought of all those kiddos passing in the halls..... So glad to not have to deal... Hoping your DOE has a might more sense about them.
I am so glad to hear this news. You make sure that you put your health as #1 priority - That's what all your family and friends want.

My dad's results came back as expected, cancer in two areas in the bladder. All the random biopsies and the prostate biopsy were normal. The options this time were different, more aggressive. The first is to remove his bladder. This was not a good option the first time around as he was stage IV, but I guess is on the table now? It's a really traumatic surgery with up to a year recovery, but he's willing to talk to others who've done it. A friend of the neighbors has had it done and would be a good one to discuss with. Option 2 and 3 are BCG (tuberculosis) bladder infusions with either added Interferon or added chemotherapy drugs (but not intravenous like before, so not as debilitating). He has a month to heal before they can do anything so he has plans to talk to a lot of doctors and people he trusts to make his decision.
Today is lunch with a friend at an outdoor restaurant. Another bit of normalcy in the week.
My next door neighbors have a fig tree and just gave me a bunch of figs. Do you just slice them up and eat them skin and all? Or is there a better way you've found?
That's all I've got!
