I'm getting ads to join a class action lawsuit regarding Zantac or it's generic, ratidine, because they determined they cause cancer. Yes, I took this for 7 years after my surgery, and, it turns out yes I have a qualifying cancer.

Does anyone here have thoughts on what are the pros and cons of joining a class action suit? If I was going to, what should I look for in terms of who to sign up with? Any thoughts? And I do understand if I did do this, I might not get much $ and it might take forever.

I was part of the Dalkon Shield IUD class action suit. I developed an infection, an ectopic pregnancy, and resulting infertility from it. That is why my two youngest children are adopted. It seems like it took 15-20 years but I did end up with an award large enough to fund an in-ground pool and the fencing around it. I remember I got it in 2 pieces: the original amount based on the type of damage it caused, then a small amount when the remaining funds set aside were dispersed to empty the fund.

Also- initially I just had to join the suit by stating that I had a Dalkon Shield, but ultimately I had to complete a lot of paperwork and submit my doctors records, etc. My DH handled it since he was an attorney.
