Weight 120.6 (in desired range). Ate on plan yesterday.
The weekend is almost here! I don't know why I care, but it does have a different cadence because of my friends who work and the fact that we have to avoid restaurants and beaches because of the Cape Cod tourists. This is true every summer but the avoidance is pretty emphatic this year for obvious reasons. Since David is a realtor his weekends aren't necessarily free though he does seem to take care of the "paperwork" side of things during the week and has more flexibility than most working folks around his appointments. Tonight he is cooking for me - something vegetarian so it should be healthy.
Not much else planned for this gloomy, cool, changeover day. Yesterday was cooler but we had gorgeous sunshine so I went to the beach for 3 hours and took Justice for a really long walk on the harbor. The weekend is supposed to be sunny and HOT!
Have a safe and healthy day!

Beautiful day here. We're having a truly beautiful summer, which is such a blessing, since outdoor activities are so important right now.
One of our nieces is visiting from California. She has been at her parents house for a bit over two weeks, so she asked if it was safe for her to stop by. Yesssss! We'll have a visit in the backyard or on the deck. Looking forward to seeing her, very much.
Yesterday I got a little nervous, I had a headache and sore throat. This morning sore throat is gone, but I'm congested. What is it with the allergies this year??? Is it because I'm hyper aware? Is my immune system in overdrive because of the cancer? Spending more time outside?
Off to my big plans, tea and newspaper on the porch.

My adult side threw out some yummies that were hanging around. Felt like a win to not devour them all.
Knitting (where no knitting took place by anyone) was nice, but Zoom is so unlike meeting in person. It feels like a meeting where only one person can speak at a time, which is not how friends act (but I suppose it works for work meetings which was the intended purpose). So any supportive sounds or laughter or someone chiming in cuts off the speaker. I find it really frustrating and miss so much of what's said.
Today needs to include cleaning at least something. Anything else today is a bonus!
Would your group ever be able to meet outside social distance style, or is that not an option in California? Right now, our directives say we can gather in groups of 10, but I could see this changing as our numbers are going up again. 10 seems like too many anyhow, but 5 or so has felt comfortable to me. You can sit 6 feet apart and still hear and see each other.

We aren't supposed to gather with anyone outside our household. People do, I have in what I hope is a safe manner, but there are up to 15 of us and all but two are over 60, several over 70. So I think Zoom is safest now. We had approximately 7000 new cases last week in our county. It's a petri dish at the moment!
Are you in Riverside Co or Orange Co?
OC has daily infection rates 4 times ours and Riverside has an infection rate about 5 times ours. We are still experiencing about 140+ new cases per day. That is still significant in a smallish county, but overall we have only had about .5% of our county positively identified as infected since the outbreak in February. Of course, experts assume that this number is not very accurate since only a very small percentage of our population has been tested.
That is just insane !!! We had our highest in the State of 427 yesterday and another 3 deaths..
They are threatening Stage 4 restrictions if it doesnt start going down. Im praying it starts downward shift as Stage 4 will have a very damaging effect on any businesses that are hanging on by a thread and thereby rolls into peoples mental health and wellbeing. Its a hugely difficult time for everyone at the moment.
Stay safe everyone
