Weight 119.6, WW Bluepoints 6. Yeah - my low of late hit today!

I have my 4 year WLS follow-up today. A 3 hour round trip and many vials of blood to be drawn. But it is nice today - 70 and breezy, so I don't mind.

Yesterday I got my hair cut/highlighted and my teeth cleaned, so I am making progress in getting caught up. Dinner with David last night was good. Today is the appointment, then possibly kayaking with DSD.

Have a safe and healthy day!

I'm getting ready to go kayaking. After that, not sure what's on the schedule.

The news is very sobering these days. There are some bright spots, but so much that is senseless.

Diane M., How is your NYC daughter faring these days? The reported numbers are down, but what's it like for her?

DD, thanks for asking. Her day to day life is changing.... more people on the subway... slight lessening of restrictions. Her tolerance for irresponsible behavior is quite low. After everything NYC rose above, to see other states disregarding what science and experience tells us is FACT, is disheartening.

Good Morning All

Second last day of the working week - I seriously have zero motivation. Lots of that is attributed to my boss (long story!)

We decided to drive a Ute load of boxes over to DSDs house last night in case we go into Stage 4 restrictions - no-one can tell us what that will mean so best to get them over there as they take possession of their house in 3 weeks. We didnt get stopped by any roadblocks so that was a relief. The website said you are allowed to help family move so that was a valid reason for us taking them there but I was nervous. 239 cases yesterday - they are not stabilising hence the next stage of restrictions being discussed - our state economy is going down the rabbit hole day by day - I feel for those small businesses just hanging on - this will finish them and dread to think what the new normal will be if and when this all settles. Called into Costco on the way home as we figured it would be quieter - wore masks and got all our stocking up done in 30 mins then home.

Today after work I will go and do mums groceries, scripts etc and take them around to her. We only need a couple of things too so thats good. Dinner is the chicken pies we didnt eat last night - yes there was fries on the way home then egg on toast - that was dinner

Not a lot else to report. DH had 2 skin things removed yesterday after the dr didnt like the look of them at his annual skin check. Stitches come out in a week for his ear one and 3 weeks for his leg one. Results should be back in around a week. I have booked to go for mine on Monday - crossing fingers I wont have any surprises.

Liz - well done on the low weight and good luck with your follow up with the WLS surgeon :)

Well its time for a second cup of tea and to check the fireplace - so cold this morning..... Send some summer heat please

Our kayak outing this morning was so beautiful. The water was a mirror, little wind, hundreds of dragonflies. I could hear their wings buzzing. Occasionally an unfortunate one became breakfast for the large mouth bass leaping from the water. We paddled quietly through peaceful coves, pointing out birds as we glided through the water. At one point, a painted turtle swam along so close to me I could have picked it up.

But then reality returns, and there was a message on my phone to call and set up my pre surgery covid test. I have to do it on Saturday, so I picked the very last slot available, 4:20pm. That will give me the chance to go to the beach and swim one last time. Once I have the test, I have to stay home until surgery. And from my previous experience with surgery, I don't expect to be cleared for swimming for 4-6 weeks while the incision heals.

Plans for the next week: try not to worry too much about things I have no control over anyway, and savor the good stuff.

That's the attitude DD! Savor the good stuff indeed. I think you and your family have done a good job of finding some enjoyment the last few weeks which you can definitely savor.
