Its been a busy time but Im thankful to have the farm as its my downtime. I feel completely at peace there

The farm is 170 miles from our city house (which is 27 miles from the centre of Melbourne - so outskirts) Im not a busy city person

We wont need a pass but it could be touch n go as to whether they allow us through - we have a rate notice in the car so we can prove we own the property but they are checking drivers licences - and that lists our city address as its our primary address for now. There is a clause that we can go there to give care to our livestock. The girls are pregnant so Im fussy about keeping up lots of food as they work hard to grow their big bubbas. We should have 5 new calves delivered between November and December - all being well

Update: my hairdresser's son tested positive. He's feeling a lot better and will be cleared to go out after 7/12 if he's symptom free. My hairdresser got tested today. Should be a week before that comes back what with our recent slowing in test results. Even if she's negative, I think I'll wait a good bit before going back to give it all time to die off in the heat of her garage where she has her station! So self-color it is...

We got our county numbers for the day. 26 deaths and another 1292 cases. Insanity.

Scary numbers Cec :( I almost feel guilty posting our statewide numbers when I read yours

Stay safe my friend x

At least they know how to nip it in the bud where you are instead of giving up like here!

They have been pretty diligent with locking us down fast to stop the spread. Lots of ppl are complaining but really we should be thankful - especially when I see the US numbers :X

So out of control! How can those numbers stand, let alone persist day after day....Stay safe, Cecily.

I know! Granted size wise we're tiny (948 sq miles, you could fit 5 orange counties in LA county), but population wise, we're bigger than 21 other states. So it's a lot to manage and we're packed in like sardines. In the north end of the county is where the biggest outbreaks are. Lots of multigenerational and multi family living (like 20+ people to a tiny house sleeping in shifts) and many work in hourly essential worker jobs, so they can't stay home. It's a bad situation. And then there's the undocumented people who fear the government and don't have health care. Recipe for disaster.
