155.4

My children loved their chili dogs and rootbeer. Made me think of my granddaddy. What fond memories.

I did walk over 10k steps yesterday so I felt a bit better about my indulgence.

Inlaws are headed here tomorrow and I think my MIL is freaking out about being on a plane and at a "funeral." Especially since funeral is ranked one of the more dangerous events.

I don't know what to think. When will this be over??!!! Thing quite possibly could be worse in the wintertime. It's already been over 3 months since we lost my SIL. It's already been unfortunate that the family couldn't be together and couldn't mourn properly. And then there is just the reality that life marches on and we hope to have probate settled by end of summer and house sold by early fall. So it's kinda like come now or never. But that doesn't mean I don't worry.

I saw Peps letter on education. I really feel for everyone involved. I know it'll be SO CHALLENGING to teach, especially younger ones, and try to enforce mask-wearing, etc. I know that our school districts here are requiring mask wearing for all above primary school. Bus riders must wear masks. No parents walk in. I think it would be safer probably for kids to not be in brick and mortar class. But then I also feel for the working moms and dads who just cannot be two places at once. Or whose kids need that socialization and structure....or even safe space. All the "Karen" moms around here who are SAHM are just pulling their kids out and doing online school. Great, happy you can do that. Glad you bought your 7 year old a Mac. But I also really feel for the families where that's not possible and I worry about an increasing gap in education, which may translate in earning potential etc. forever. It's all a mess. My naïve little thought it "I wish this virus would just disappear"

Thankfully, transmission amongst children of my kids' ages seems to be really low. I sure hope they will have mother's day out. I might lose my mind otherwise. Seriously. Day by day.

Grilling up some swordfish tonight. I've really acquired a taste for fish! Very very hot out here.

Is that weight a new low for these days BB? I also love fish since WLS even though I wasn't overly fond of it previously.

Weight 119.6, WW Bluepoints 25. Not a new low but equal to my lowest since losing the regain. Which makes me happy for the day since my WW Zoom meeting and weigh-in is today. It always pleases me when my low for the week is on the same day.

It will be up again tomorrow since I did eat well yesterday at dinner with David. The place we went to is indoor eating only so we were a bit nervous but we had a whole room to ourselves! At least during the week people are still nervous about eating out so even places like this which are usually super busy aren't on weekdays. I probably will not eat out on weekends during the summer (or go to the public beaches except perhaps on Sunday mornings which are usually quiet).

I am with you - I sure wish this virus would disappear. Barring that I think we have to pray for a vaccine ASAP. I suspect it will take a long time for everyone to get vaccinated though even once they have one (and then there will be the idiots who say they aren't doing it. Sigh).

Hot here too, so I will probably meet SIL at the beach. She saw a urologist yesterday for possible bladder cancer and said she would update me today. I still can't go with her to in-person appointments or I would have.

Have a safe and healthy day!

I hit 154.6 recently but this is pretty good! I think of around 156 as my new "low" but I reeeealllly like it so it bums me out to go higher.

I am 100% a vaccinating proponent, however I tend to worry about a virus vaccine that might've been pushed through ultra fast. A local physician described it like this "wait for the "S" version after they've worked out all the kinks"

So you live with SIL in Florida but not Mass?

She basically rents from me in Florida (sharing my Condo). SIL has her own home here on Cape Cod about 3 miles from me.

Re opening school is so complicated. As is much of what we are trying to navigate. I do my best to keep up with the science, and base my behavior on that. I accept that science based directives will change as they learn more and I adjust. I will vote in November for leaders who I believe will provide leadership to effectively address this crisis. It's the only control I have right now.

Costco was out of Diet Coke!!!! Apparently there is a shortage of aluminum cans. There was diet coke at our local grocery store so we now have a stash.

We were going to go kayaking, but it looks like storms. There are plenty of indoor projects to keep us occupied.

Raining some- mot enough to make a lot of difference, but too heavy to get outside so nothing going except some yogurt incubating. Swann is experiencing some sloppy poos the last few days- was better, but now relapsed- any suggestions from the astute dog-folks out there. He seems perfectly healthy otherwise. Just a pain to watch after. Luckily, he is using the tile floor in the pantry if there is to be an accident.

BB- good on your scale weight!!! For the life of me, I cannot seem to drop back into the 50's. The ol' up a pound, down a pound bounce and stay the same merry go round. The crackers want to commiserate, but I am (barely) declining. Hope to hold out.

If the rain holds out, I'll have a walk in the park while DH is at Lion's meeting this evening. And, that seems to be it.

Best poop firmer is Metronidazole for gut protozoa, if that is what is making Swann sick. If he is a drinker of puddle water or water from creeks or streams, Giardiasis and other protozoa could be the culprit. However, the best trick in the book without a vet visit and meds is feeding boiled chicken breast with cooked white rice for several days in a row. You can add a soup spoon full of cooked pumpkin to the chicken and rice, which will help absorb the liquid in his gut. If after 3-4 days of the chicken and rice diet, Swann still has runny poop, probably best to get a stool sample to the vet.

Chicken, rice and a bit of pumpkin. Yummy. Thanks!

Not for you!

But seriously, no seasoning - more than a little salt, if that.
