Yes, if nothing is going on, please keep posting anyhow!!! Just a hello, I'm fine but bored with this quarantine life is even enough. Because we all can relate.

Coke Zero is pretty much the dregs of desperation soda. I'd rather drink Diet Root Beer. Which I had to yesterday, because we were out of Diet Coke at home for a couple of hours. No one suffers as much as me.

OMG! I am feeling so all alone in my love for Coke Zero! I would rather drink Diet Pepsi than a Diet Coke! It wasn't until Coke Zero that I went back to Coca Cola. I love a real Coke, but I don't drink it but maybe once every year or two. If there were only Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi, I wouldn't even keep soda in the house. That's how much they don't call to me. Coke Zero, on the other hand, is like drinking a real coke to me. Isn't funny how our tastes can differ so wildly over something as mundane as diet soda pop?

Maybe it's because I really hate regular soda. The bitey astringent quality of Diet Coke is what appeals to me. Diet Pepsi is too sweet and so is Coke Zero. Maybe it comes down to whether you're trying to mimic the full-sugar version with your diet drink of choice or like it for its own merits and not its relation to the original?

edit - fixed my "its" errors. I was embarrassing myself in front of all the teachers!

I think you're right! I hadn't thought of that before. I started drinking TAB as a preteen, and I don't find regular soda refreshing at all. It's like syrup. But if you're trying to recreate regular coke, coke zero is probably a similar flavor profile. My personal favorite I'd diet coke with lime, but I don't see that for sale anymore. No problem, I just add a fresh lime slice myself.

Diet Pepsi, Peps? Just...say....no !

Totally agree with you, Peps.

First of all, I swear allegiance to "coke" to the extent that all "soda" is named "coke."

I am not a fan of diet coke. It takes like it's been sitting with diluting ice in a not-so-appealing glass that's been sweating for hours. Luckily I can typically get Diet Dr. Pepper if the need be. And they usually sell that at pepsi locations. I will NOT drink pepsi products and when a waitress asks "is Pepsi okay?" I give her a look like she offered me poison instead.

But Coke...real coke...is my A number 1. Rich won't drink diet anything (but is much better abou****er consumption) so I've started a nasty habit of sharing his drink, especially at the movies. But ohmygosh bliss is a blasting cold movie theater, hot buttered popcorn, and a real coke.

But in the absence of real coke (90% of the time) I love me some Coke zero. I thought it was going to be a fad like Tab or something but it has a ?nutmeg? taste that keeps me coming back.

I also love rootbeer. Anyone else?

In fact, tonight my neighborhood is hosting a food truck of a former restaurant/tree farm. They are known for hotdogs and rootbeer. It's not the healthiest (by far) but I have endless good memories of my granddad taking me there. They serve their rootbeer in iced mugs.

Ron lives for Dr. Pepper and has grown to love diet Dr. P. I have adjusted to the taste. But it?s not my first choice. But it at least had more flavor than Diet Coke. I agree with you that tastes watered down.

BTW, you are probably too young by about 15 years to know that Fresca and TAB were way more than Fads. They were the Heavenly answers to the dieting mothers of my generation. I can still see the bikini clad model walking wet from the ocean on the beach drinking her TAB on that 70s TV commercial!
