Weight 121.6, WW Bluepoints 41 or so??? We had friends over: appetizers, Chinese food, desserts. It was fun, but time to get back to planned eating! I do have another dinner date on Wednesday but it is at a sushi place so shouldn't be too extreme in calories.

DSD got her Covid test yesterday morning. Hopefully she gets negative results in a few days and will travel north. My other DD may also come for a couple of days. So strange to have the kids all returning home.

Today I am having lunch with a friend by the harbor. She is working toward placing her DH in long-term care by the end of the month. He is at about the same point or a bit beyond where my DH was when we moved him. Tough decisions.

And ETA: I don't think I showed you this. It is the pendant made from my wedding ring and a single diamond necklace DH gave me when we got married:

Have a safe and healthy Monday!

The pendant is beautiful, Liz.

Today is errands, but not the hair color originally intended! I do hope her son is okay. He's young and healthy, but living with his parents in their 50s is the part where it concerns me. He was living in his own apartment with roommates, but is a personal trainer and his income evaporated with Covid, so he moved back home.

Here's my camillia in the ground, hiding low between the spiky plants toward the left. It looks so small now that it's planted! It has a lot of catching up to do.

I started a list of all the things I need help with from a landscape contractor. I think there is enough to make it worth their taking the job (update sprinklers, lighting, replacing some dry rot big pergola timbers, new trees in the front, new gate, clean up pruning...). Now to find a contractor. I think I'll aim for starting in the fall as the heat of summer isn't a great time for planting trees.

Off to clean myself up and errand. I'm on a quest for Diet Coke. It's getting hard to find...

That's because Coke Zero is soooooo much better than Diet Coke!

Blasphemy!!!

PS - I did end up with 2 12 packs of Coke Zero and 1 of Diet Dr. Pepper. But only because I'm addicted, not because I prefer them!

Liz that pendant is just perfect, and so meaningful.

Cecily, no diet coke shortages here yet. But just the thought make a me want to dash over to Costco!

I have transitioned to not sleeping well, falling asleep after 2am then sleeping late. It's my natural state, but I try to head it off by getting up by 8am. Might need to set an alarm again.

So far today I've put away things and tidied up. Right now I'm washing some throw rugs. Probably going to finish a novel I started yesterday. Feeling a little blue today, but it will pass. Sometimes I think I've adjusted too well to quarantine and I need to shake things up. I've always been someone who thrives on novelty, I like to see and do new things. Not so much of that happening these days.

Last night I dreamt my clinic called to tell me my test results were wrong, and I did not have cancer. Since I am not actually a prophet, nothing has changed. I do have a pre operative physical this week. I guess that will be something novel since I haven't been in my primary care clinic since January. I'll have to thank him for ordering the mammogram.

Good Morning All, Feeling a little more human after an early night. Reached the wall and figured I should try and top up the tank.

The Corona Virus is very bad here in Victoria - the premier has locked down suburbs that are known hotspots. There are 9 housing commission blocks of units that have been placed into 5 day lockdown - they are not allowed to leave their units. Food and essentials are being delivered. 500 police are patrolling the corridors to try and stop the community spread as many are not following the rules nor agreeing to be tested. Yesterday they announced that they will close the border between Victoria and NSW as of midnight tonight. That mean DH had to drive 10 hours yesterday to get from Queensland into NSW. He will drive to our farm today and then I will meet him at the airport tommorrow when he drops off his hire car. I think we are not far off being all locked down again. Our cases yesterday totalled 127 - which is the highest since this all started. Things are getting pretty horrible over here at the moment. Victorians are not welcome anywhere. Needless to say our holiday to QLD is being cancelled - we wouldnt be allowed to cross either of the borders. I am waiting for flight vouchers from the airline. Have managed to secure full refunds on accomodation and car hire. We have agreed - we will look at trying again in July next year. Worrying times indeed.

Today I just have work and then chores. I have tommorrow off work so that will be nice. Thursday after work we will head up to the farm for the weekend. Love it up there. My peaceful place

Liz - the necklace is just beautiful

DD- You are in my thoughts daily x

Cec - Your gardens are looking amazing

To everyone else that follows a big hello and hope you all have a wonderful evening

127 new cases would be something to celebrate here! My county of 3.2 million had 1,028 new cases today, 40 of those in my city. Some of that is likely holiday lag, but it's just spreading like wildfire. I wish the US had jumped on it as fiercely as Australia. There'd be a lot more people alive today.

Its just an awful situation and hard to see any end to this until someone can get a vaccine produced. So sad for the people that have lost their lives and their families

Difficult times indeed

I guess we are doing pretty well comparatively here in Mass. We have been getting 3-5 new cases a day in our county since early June. Hopefully the increase in tourists and broader openings won't cause it to go up. So far we have our fingers crossed. Restaurants and browsing type stores have been open for a month now with no increase, but with the summer tourists who arrived this past weekend it could change. The most popular beach was scarily crowded over the weekend. Luckily we have about 15 beaches and most don't allow tourists so they are still pretty good especially during the week (which is when I usually go).

Greetings Buddies

Its cool and overcast today. We got the grasses planted. Whew, it is getting really hard for me to get up off the ground. Getting old sure sucks.

Our July 4 evening was a noisy one. Our neighbor, a lovely lady, has her birthday on the 4th so I can't get too upset with the fireworks but it sure seemed like a lot this year. Tesla was a basket case even with drugs. Peps tell me how to dose a 13 lb dog with canabanoid oil. I have some WITH thc. (for me). But when we lived in Omaha, our circle had the mother of all fireworks displays. Neighbor used to drive to Missouri and comeback with a truckload of stuff. They have fireworks malls down there. It was an astonishing amount of fireworks and the next morning the street was literally covered with bits of paper. Poor Tesla was trying to dig a hole in the carpet. Old Chip has never cared much. He could be a gun dog.

DD still thinking of you and hope all your treatments are not too unpleasant.

Liz love the pendant. Beautiful and fitting.

Cecily we will vicariously enjoy your garden project.

Shirley I so wish our nation would crack down on covid like your nation has. California has been stricter than many states but its still not enough. Our county is pretty well because its remote.Glad I am not in Texas.

Pizza two nights in a row. Not cool.

Later all. Diane S
