OMG, that is food porn.
I know it is a tough time now for some more than others. Things have to get better. I tend to be an optimist and can ostrich around negativity but sometimes it is easier to be that way.
I do remember 30 seeming old, but time really does fly and seems to pass quicker as one gets older. Maybe because a year becomes a smaller and smaller percentage of time?

Sounds like we are all finding ways to mark events during these "uncertain times".
Cecily, if everyone behaved like your hairdresser and her son, we would get out of this mess faster.
Liz, hope your DSD is with you soon! Learning to deal with an empty nest is not on your to do list!
Peps, I envy the puppy entertainment, but it has to tug at the heart to see your mature dogs distressed.
Bonnie, I hope there are some unexpected moments of joy or hope to help you carry the heavy burdens you are given right now.
We had a nice 4th, and also did not piggy it up (I love that phrase so much!). Private fireworks did not start up in earnest until around 10pm when it gets dark. Way more than normal, and very intense for about an hour. It actually made it difficult to carry on a conversation from 6 feet away. But then it settled down. Fireworks are illegal here, but like in other places, people travel to a neighboring state to buy them. Minnesotans go to Wisconsin. I think the home shows were so much bigger because all the municipal ones were cancelled. Last year we were in a park in Minneapolis for the big show.
DH had the holiday off, but is at work today. Daughter and I are on the porch, playing with our rectangles and also reading actual books. Nothing more is planned. We are apparently good at quarantine.
Good Morning All, Back after a nice extended weekend at the farm. Was cold and mostly wet but its still beautiful. No rescue missions this weekend which was nice. Had a nice cuppa with my BIL Friday afternoon when he called in to collect their dinner. I had just put pumpkin scones in the oven - so he had a couple fresh from the oven with his cup of tea. I then sent a basket load home with him. Saved a bunch for our neighbours too. Was using Pumpkin up and they turned out nice. Left farm by 8am yesterday and came home to do chores. Chook is still sick - there isnt much else I can do for her. Will wait for DH to come home and we will make a decision from there. Popped her in the farm chook pen in the sun - but she isnt weight bearing so just sat there huddled up. Poor girl. Shes still eating though - I was popping worms and treats in her food dish which she demolished.
Today is a busy one. I have a windscreen chip repair on DH ute before it cracks. Blood work results via phone with my Dr. Need to make a chicken and Veg pie for dinner tommorrow night and pack to go to stay at DSS - DH will be home Wed afternoon and come there so we can move the contents of his car into the ute and return his hire car. Will be nice to have him home. for a few weeks. My Mum is also coming over to collect the fruit and vegetables I bought up near the farm. It will get her out of the house and I know we are safe. Shes super high risk so Im very careful
DS just came with me to collect a parcel from the Post Office - it was marked heavy and assistance needed. It was 37.4 lbs - I lift heavier bags of chook food. But was thankful he came over to help me. I made him fried egg rolls for brekkie before he headed back to his Dads. He will be back here Tuesday after dinner.
Well thats about my news. I loved reading back on how you are all doing :)
I had best get some work done.... Motivation for work is sadly AWOL today - best I go find it

This is LA, but I imagine we looked the same. This is what "fireworks are illegal" looks like!
Weight- still waiting for it...I saw today on the Fitbit that I have actually made it a full week with out food insanity claiming my soul. Yay, me. Down 7.2 #s. On the one hand, I so wish that the rest of this re-re-gain would fall off as quickly, but then -why does it matter how long it takes - do I want to reach a goal quickly Just so that I can "stop dieting" and indulge-- translates Yo Yo dieting. Not a good idea.
Cecily, I was congratulating my self on having a dog that is seemingly immune to Fireworks noise, but now I realize that what we were hearing last night was the pop and thunder from places 3 and 4 miles or more away. Easy breezy compared to what you, Devon, and others had to contend with. **** that kind of cacophonous shenanigans would send Me howling and hiding under a bed. The poor dogs!
Not much going here- just a peaceful Sunday coming to an end. Be well, folks, and hugs to all.
