I don't blame you for feeling angry. I am pretty dismayed by a lot of what is going on here and around the country as far as Covid19 safety is concerned.

I do sort of feel like the US citizenry is living up to its reputation in the global community as being an undereducated, pompous, and arrogant population. I am just baffled by the stupidity of people who claim wearing a mask in public is a violation of their civil liberties.

To me it's a simple as this: Your civil liberties stop at my body. You can do whatever the hell you want with your fist, until it touches my body. At that point, you've lost all claims to your right to use your fist as you see fit, because now you've injured me. Your right to own and fire a gun without consequence ends when you fire a gun at a person. So don't tell me we live in a country in which we are allowed to do as we please. We are allowed to do as we please as long as we live within the confines of the law.

Guess what? Your breath is a possible danger to my well being. Put on a friggin' mask, idiot! I HATE wearing a mask. In fact, I hate wearing a mask so much, I stay home as much as possible because here we HAVE to wear a mask in public. It is required by the governor's declaration.

Here is a link to an article about Thomas Macias, the man Ceci referred to in her post. It is a very sad story. Don't be "an idiot like me"

You are right on with your feelings. Unfortunately I think a fair amount of the people who are being unconcerned are taking their cue from "management". In other words some of the "leaders" in our country. It gives people a false feeling that it is no big deal so they stop being careful. That is why I want DSD here instead of Florida. Don't get me going about Governor Desantis...

Weight- not posting till I drop into the 50's. Doing better with lining up my actions with consequences. Strangely, whenever I stop and consider the outcome of my behavior, I make better decisions. When I turn off the here and now and turn on the "automatic decision default" mechanism in my brain, I make poor decisions every time (simply said- old FUTAPES).

Having the kiddos over and will be making some unknown recipe Jesse picked up while in Spain. He's bringing the ingredients- I have no idea what we are making! DH has his ice cream ripening in the deep freeze-and I made a pan of brownies for desert.

Yes, the room beyond the kitchen is my pantry. 4 walls, 4 doors. It was originally a wash room for cleaning up after the chores of the day and has access to the back porch, back bedroom, kitchen and basement. We have effectively blocked the bedroom and porch doors.

LOVE that kitchen space - pantry, workspace, everything! I also love that you have a landline wall phone! Didn't everyone have one in the kitchen with a super long cord so Mom could talk while she cooked? Mem'ries!

Ours was rotary and yellow with the cord that could never be untangled!

Oh, that's too funny! Ours was a yellow rotary wall phone, too. I used to delight in trying to get the cord perfectly untangled. OCD much?

Me too! An exercise in frustration as undoing one bad kink just created another.

Last pic, side yard with 3 dwarf agapanthus and 1 new Boston ivy to cover the prison wall look... And a whole lot of mulch! (I forget how much better mulch makes a garden look. The part I remember is how much work it is)

Greetings

Happy Fourth All! Though there is a lot to be sad about in America right now I still value the founding principles and hope we can get back to them soon.

We went to friends for the first small party I have been to since this started. Careful people and close friends. Hope we are all ok. DH ate peach pie and as I predicted, he came home and spit up. He has done this more than once out he car window when we go to this same people's place. I have done this maybe twice since my surgery 10 years ago.

Yep, noice of July 4 is rough on ptsd people and pets and many of us. Good plan Diane O to use the water as a healing agent. It truly is.

Yeah Peps, that really is a picture of the nursery. Its a kind of display garden but the goods are set out in pots in attactive arrangements among gardens. Its so lovely and you can see what the plants look like when they mature. So much better than a bunch of shelves. We sort of have our new grasses figured out.

So Cecily, dit you get rid of the witch garden or is it still there? I think you should keep it.

Gooseberries! Looks great as does your kitchen. Love it. So homy.

We picked a bunch of snow peas and took them to this dinner party. They were a big hit. Good thing because we will likely have bushels of them. Also made the famous bariatric cheese crisps. One friend is losing mental function and is not eating well but she loves those crisps. Her husband is taking a trip and leaving her home alone and we are all worried sick about how she will do.

Yeah Cecily I am really annoyed with the people *****fuse to wear masks. We have a big sign that they are required at the gallery and keep some paper ones to give if needed. Most people are very good but those who won't cooperate are major jerks.

Liz have fun with this new guy. Glad DSD is coming to stay with you. Florida is not a place I would want to be. Ditto Alabama and Texas.

I got some of my mail order stuff delivered yesterday. Bras from Soma and zip sheets to go on our split king. We will see if they work.

Take care all. Diane S
