This morning began quite early. Baby Blitz has been having gut issues and loose poop. He's fine in all other regards, but needs to be let out once or twice each night to relieve himself. Last night started at just before 3 am. Then he had another bout around 3:45. Then I let everyone out at 6:45. Around 7:00 I went back to bed until 8:30.
Miguel, the carpet guy, is here finishing up the work on GOAT. I will take pics and share once the work is complete. So far it looks fantastic!
Computerized charts and graphs are outside of my familiarity and I realize I don't wish to spend the time learning how to create a graph type of chart by myself. I want someone to SHOW ME. I learn best that way. So, instead I have created my own weight log for each day. Just keeping track of numbers. I had been doing it somewhat mentally prior to the floors getting done, discussing it here citing Liz's graph.
These are the numbers from the height of my "The floors are being redone and I have no kitchen" eating. You'll notice that I refused to get on the scale the day following my high. I needed the break.
6/25/20 272.8
6/26/20 -----
6/27/20 271.1
6/28/20 270.7
6/29/20 269.5
6/30/20 268.1
7/01/20 269.1
7/02/20 268.0
7/03/20 267.4
What is interesting to me is that I have not "dieted" at all over the past week. All I have done is return to a non processed food based eating plan. I am not weighing or measuring, but am trying to be conscious of what I am eating and how I feel during and after eating. I am now curious to see what type of thinking and choices I will need to make to continue to see a downward trend in my scale numbers.
I don't believe I have shared that I signed up for an online yoga challenge. The program was very inexpensive ($9 for six weeks) and is geared to men over 40. The website is called manflowyoga.com. I believe his wife does the female programs, but I'm not 100% sure about that. Anyway, yoga has been on my "bucket list" for sometime. I'm excited to have signed up and will get started next Monday. There are 6 yoga sessions for 30 minutes per week. I am hoping that I love it. Yoga could be such a complement to my strength training and eating behavior work. Fingers crossed.
COVID19.... I am fascinated by what I see happening around the country. I realize that my world is not terribly compromised by the pandemic. Sure, there are no dog shows, but I can live with that. My day to day life seems pretty normal. I tend to be a home body during the summers. I have mentioned there is no pull to go out to eat, or do something of a social nature. I'm pretty okay with being home, grocery shopping, grooming the occasional dog and seeing the people in my inner bubble. I have done lots of reading on the spread of the virus and came across a very good article in the Wall Street Journal last night: How You Catch the Virus I think it's worth the read. I am still very hesitant about my planned trip to Ohio at the end of the month. I will do all that I can to protect myself and others while traveling.
Like Ceci, my grandfather also committed suicide. It was April of 1945, my grandmother, my mother and her sisters had fled to the west, but my grandfather stayed behind to "protect" their property and land. Why he chose to stay behind, I don't know. Maybe it was the responsible thing to do? As the eastern front fell, rather than face the Russian troops invading eastern Germany and the horrors they presented, he took his own life. I can't imagine the terror he felt to manage such a thing. Prior to killing himself he took the life of two women from the village at their request and then took his own. The horrors of war.
I unpacked 8 boxes yesterday, reorganizing and purging as I went. It felt good. In fact I was so inspired, I spent time in the garage doing a few things to keep the mess from piling up. LOL!
I should put an end to my leisurely morning and get a move on with the day. Cheers!
Looking good! Wi****hought I could think of yoga with joy, but- nope.

Bonnie, we are the same weather wise here. Wheweee! Today we're expecting a mandate from the governor to "wear masks out in public", but with municipalities able to disregard. How does that make sense.
It is sad to think of how each of us seems to have experience with suicide. My youngest brother, Mike, took his life when he was 32. I hang tight to the belief that in the brief space between making that mistake and his end on earth, there was an encounter of God's grace and all is well with his soul. the sadness left to those behind is no trifling matter.
Today is gooseberry conserve making day. Finished picking the bush yesterday (tipping and tailing the berries is a labor intensive and tedious pain) but the enD results are so worth it.

Conserves done. Six cups of gooseberries-six cups of goodies. This is one thing I can stay out of- along with blackberries and any jams with seeds-

- I love that Swan and the cat cohabitate in harmony!
- That tail is not natural length. No way in hell! I bet the breeder was worried that maybe your son might be anti docking. Easy way to check: Feel the end of Swann's tail. If it is rounded, it was docked. If it ends in a natural taper and pencil point, then it's a natural tail. Here i a picture of a Welsh Terrier with a natural, undocked tail.
Hey, Peps! Thanks for the input. So, I checked Swann's tail and while it defiantly tapers, I cannot say that there is a "pencil tip" at the end.....Soooo, I messaged the breeder and asked- no judgment- just curious. Hope to hear back. good looking Welshie!

I am, too. I will be absolutely amazed if that truly is a natural length tail. I have been around terriers for almost 40 years and never seen one that naturally short in an otherwise normal dog. The only one I have seen that short was an Airedale puppy with a midline defect. She ended up being small and had other issues due to the midline defect. Swann looks so completely healthy and normal, so he clearly doesn't have that type of a defect.
