06/30/2020, Tuesday. Last Day in June
Fido (aka Casco), our white Ragdoll cat, goes to the groomer today for his summer lion cut. We are slowly putting the completed ¾ of our deck back together. We're grateful that our state and region are still faring well with Covid. Don't share the air really is the central message. Thanks for introducing us to Dr. Lucy, Ceci ! Cuomo is considering shutting inside dining back down if our numbers rise. There are lots of rumors about civil unrest planned around 4th of July fireworks... hard to know what to believe. In the same vein, I've read that our recent Apple and Android smart phone updates have installed Covid tracing programming which would work in conjunction with additional apps if installed. At what point does government have the right & responsibility to supercede individuals' rights and irresponsibility ?
Liz, glad David is a nice man ! I hadn't thought about dating during Covid, but as Ceci pointed out, probably the better way to really get to know someone ! Ceci, S & A would LOVE your enchanted garden !! I'm thinking that wall is a perfect match for my environmentally friendly weed killer followed by a pressure washer ( 1 gallon white vinegar, 2 cups Epsom salts and ¼ cup liquid Dawn). Peps, that pie recipe sounds fabulous ! Can't wait to hear about the dogs' reactions to being reunited and the floors ! Shirl, sorry about the wedding cake debacle ! Good thing it wasn't chocolate !! DD, we've been getting some of those storms too! Your reading focus is something I aspire to!
Age: 64; 5' 5"; High weight: 345; Start weight: 271 (01/05/15); Surgery weight: 218 (05/27/15); Pre-Op (-53); M 1 (-18); M 2 (-1.5); M 3 (-13.5 ); M 4 (-13); M 5 (- 8); M 6 (-12) M 7 (-5, Xmas); M 8 (- 9) Under surgeon's goal and REACHED HEALTHY BMI 12/07/15!! (Six months and one week.) AT GOAL month 8. Maintaining at goal range (139- 144) ~ four (4) years !!
Weight 122.2, WW Bluepoints 8. It is a gloomy day with showers later which may supersede my wish to take Justice for a walk along the ocean, but maybe if I go early it is still possible.
My other SIL arrives today for a few days (staying with close SIL). I expect we will go out to eat at some point but with the weather forecast probably not today or tomorrow as we have been sticking with outdoor dining. This SIL is renting a small cottage for 5 weeks from mid-July to mid-August so she will be around quite a bit. Her 70th birthday is July 31 and I think DS will cook for it so her daughters can come and we don't have to try to go out.
I may start the outdoor cushion recovering today as there is probably no good excuse for putting it off.
Diane, you will have to post a picture of Fido with his cut! Shirl, I laughed at the wedding cake debacle but Diane is right that it is a good thing it wasn't chocolate which could have been dangerous for them. I don't think Justice would overeat on cake but my former beagles certainly would have stuffed as much as they could in, gotten sick and then had more.
ETA: I had been mulling over inviting David for kayaking or dinner but hadn't made a move and then he just called! We are kayaking on Saturday at my pond.
Have a safe and healthy day and don't share the air!

Good morning! Not sure what my plans will be for today. There are always things to take care of, so I will probably get at a few of them later. One thing I'd like to do is read through a few WW recipes for dinner that could become part of my rotation, go to recipes.
I'm feeling okay during the day, but I'm having a lot of stress dreams. I've substituted the forgot to go to a class or final type dream for work ones: I have an IEP meeting I forgot to prepare for... And a health one: that the breast MRI uncovered something that requires a double mastectomy. All in all, the stress is very manageable. I cannot say enough good things about the support I'm receiving, from family, friends, and my medical team.
I'm a smidge lower in weight at a number I've been at for several years. I think it is a fabled set point. I am so hungry, like real hunger for real food. It's as though my body is trying to keep me right here. I'm going to try eating a lot of free points protein today and see if this helps.
WW definitely has some really good recipes - tasty and many easy ones too.

The return of my kitchen and to more normalized eating as paid off. I'm back down in my safe zone - down to 268.0 today.
Had a session with my therapist yesterday. I guess more than anything it pointed out to me all the positives I am achieving around my weight, eating disorder, and inner dialogue.
Dogs are home, except for Ace who was whisked back off to Uncle Kevin's house yesterday. Dottie is in season and ready to be bred and Ace was miserable not being allowed to be her suitor. Lucky is much more calm (perhaps a lower libido?) and deals well with being separated from Dottie.
The new flooring has not been of significance to the dogs, but being back home after being kenneled for a week brought out a case of 2 hour zoomies for the puppies. The were utterly joyful at returning home. Their exuberance resulted in the spillage of Ron's tea, an almost knocking over of the three legged side table, and Blitz pooped in the house, which he hasn't done in weeks. Their excitement was a bit much for Ron, so he took to his bathtub. Everyone is settled back into the routine.
Today is a busy day. Optometrist appointment this morning. Then off to my dad's to cut his toe nails. At noon I have a training session. At 3:00 pm I have two Border Terriers coming for trims and then at 6:45 we have a backyard puppy playdate with two different owners of Lulu and Blitz's littermates. That's a full day!
I have to get a move on. Check in later.
The exuberance of zoomies!

BOOOOOOOOO!
Cataract surgery was the prescription for what ails my right eye. BOOOOOOOOO! and double Booooooooo! No new classes until after I have the surgery to remove the cataract.
It is not a surprise to me. I knew my vision was cloudy and blurry for a reason and I suspected that the cataract in my right eye had a growth spurt. But now I have to wait to see an ophthalmologist, then get surgery scheduled, etc... pain in the rear.
I am feeling OLD!
Sorry! What a pain!
