VSG Maintenance Group
Monday June 29, 2020
It started raining last night, big booming thunderstorm. It's been raining off and on since. So I'm using today as an administrative type day, scheduling appointments, returning calls, filling out paperwork. The minutia of life. Next up, some laundry.
Not much else. I will probably start a new novel. I've read 5 so far this week. What a treat!
I've had a week of maintenance between getting rid of the previous weekend's water weight and yesterday's fun. I'll take it. I've lost the quarantine weight and a smidge more. That was my first goal. Downward we go.
Good Morning All, Sorry I didnt make it here yesterday. Wasnt a good day. 3 Years since I lost my best friend and I miss him so very much. It was below freezing overnight so when I went to have my annual bloodwork done, I left the puppies in DS room. Well that act of kindness went horribly wrong - came home to find he must have left his cupboard open a little crack and the dogs had found our wedding cake. The Mess - they are still walking around with bulging bellies. I had to wash all their beds, the floor and what was left of our cake went in the bin - sigh..... Went to take my mum to the hairdresser after work and on the way to collect her I was nearly sideswiped by a huge truck and that was on top of growing issues that my boss seems to be in retirement mode and I never know when hes actually going to turn up and be present. UGGGGG. I was thankful to go to bed and put yesterday behind me
Today I am going to take it a bit slower work wise. Might try and pot up some of the plants I bought over the weekend as that is good therapy for me. Its Tuesday here so I will head over to DSS after work. I made a chicken and Veg casserole last night - will serve with pasta. Plus will finish off a rhubarb and apple crumble today at some stage for dessert. Im going to the farm after work tommorrow for the rest of the week with puppies and chooks. Looking forward to it. Its my happy place.
Liz - Glad your date went well and you enjoyed Davids company
Cec - Wowsers you are on a mission :) Your outdoor areas are so beautiful. Cant wait to see pictures of them finished with new plants - oh and a BIG Birdbath overflowing with succulents he he he
Peps - Your floors look amazing - you must be so pleased. How did they go with Goats new ones - Im sure it looks equally fabulous. Hope its also nice to have your puppies all home. Bet they gave the floor a once over when they got back
BB - You are looking fabulous - well done :)
DD- Its so lovely to read of your summer break adventures - donuts and all :)
Diane O - Love your re-purposing to include adult swings. How gorgeous. Your place is looking fabulous. Lots of hard work has paid off. I wore your mask out yesterday for my bloodwork. The blood nurse commented on how cute it was :) I proudly told her were I had gotten it. Thank you again
Leap - So sorry to read that you had a snake visit :( Not high on my list of favourite animals. Over here some ppl put bird netting around the bottom edge of their pens - the snakes get tangled in them when they try and go into the pens. Im not sure I would like to be dealing with a very annoyed tangled snake but they say it works. We always did a double mesh layer on our grower pens so it was harder for them to get in. That being said - I have dealt with one HUGE snake at the previous farm right before it killed my DSS prize rooster.
Diane S - Hope things are going well with you. How is the gallery going - getting many ppl in?
Miss150 - Hope you had a fabulous birthday yesterday and got totally spoilt. Sending you a virtual birthday cake :)
Well I guess I had better go and get myself in the right frame of mind for work. Feeling very unmotivated today........
Hope you all have a wonderful evening

You had a day yesterday, I'm sorry!! I'm just imagining frosting footprints all over your nice new floors. Anniversaries of losing people we loved are very difficult as well. One year, I forgot the anniversary of my mom's death when a friend called to say he remembered. That has it's own guilt!
I hope the rest of your week goes better.
