Weight 122.2, WW Bluepoints 20. I had a great salmon dinner out last night and probably will have 2 more meals out of the leftovers!

And I had a really good time. David is intelligent and interesting. I will see him again. Maybe kayaking?

Today it is going to shower off and on so I may start recovering the cushions for the screen porch. And if it will dry enough later, maybe give Justice a bath.

Stay safe and healthy!

Lots of hard gardening work yesterday. I filled a garbage can with the clean-out from one bed and several dead boxwood, planted 8 of 12 plants, and dug out and sawed off an enormous 8' by 1.5" root that was coming from goodness knows what tree/plant. Digging the holes for the roses is not fun as after about 8" it's solid clay that resists attempts to be shoveled. 2 more to go. Argh!

I uncovered the need for another project in the back bed of my yard. The landscape architect squared it off and there is a lot of hidden room back there that just looks scary. And the hardscape back there is all covered in moss so it needs power washing and the dead twigs need cleaning up. I sent my friend a picture and he said it looks like a witches forest I could rent out to local covens for their meetings.

So more gardening today and therapist. Thought I'd make a broccoli quiche for dinner. I had groceries delivered this morning.

There was an article in the LA Times interviewing Dr. Lucy Jones who my whole life has been the no nonsense Earthquake Doctor. She was the official spokesperson to the media for Cal Tech when earthquakes would hit. Smart and calming. Everyone in Southern California has heard of Dr. Lucy. She's now retired and runs her own company that helps policy makers incorporate science into public policy. The article was interviewing her about the pandemic. In her usual way of boiling down a message with no panic and all common sense, she said it all comes down to "Don't Share Your Air." No tight public spaces, social distancing, be wary of closed indoor spaces, wear masks. Now if only the CDC had come out with that in the early days! I would share the article link, but I think the LA Times is all behind a paywall.

The LA Times is somewhat philanthropic. It allows non subscribers on certain platforms up to 10 article views per month. Share the link. Some of us may be able to read it.

Witches' forest indeed! It's actually very inviting and would be a great call to my Airedales. They love little areas like that - especially if they come with critters!

Give it a try!

Ferg used to love it back there too. He can't jump up on the wall anymore though! It now comes with squirrels... There was a half eaten apple up there yesterday. Very "Witch in Snow White". Super shady and dark. Maybe I need a fern garden.

Interesting! The link didn't work, but when I put Dr. Lucy into the search bar, the article popped right up! Thanks!

Trying not to share air definitely affects dating. We aren't necessarily always 6 feet apart but close to it. No handshake or any of that. Probably a good thing in more than just a virus way...

Forces you to get to know them differently!

Love that Dr. Mary quote. I will look up her article.

I'm not sure what this says about me, but I try to get moss to grow on stuff! I actually looked up a recipe to get it started on this big rock in my front yard. It involved harvesting wild moss and running it through the blender with some other stuff(milk I think) then painting it on the surface where you wanted it to grow. I didn't want to sacrifice my blender to this project, so instead of moss, the bid rock has, wait for it... vines growing on it. I guess I have a vine obsession.

I love green, pillowy moss. This just looks dirty to me. Might be mixed with mildew (the black parts aren't shadows)?

Yes, I could see where that might need a good cleaning.
