Liz, I am hoping that your SIL's Dr. visit was positive. Though I am sure it was hard, she is lucky to have you ! It is so hard to take in lots of detailed information alone. Tonight is the big date ! Have fun !! DD, gardening, reading, bonfires, showered with flowers...hoping peace and serenity continue to envelop you ! Ceci, loved your roses and fountains update ! I agree with Peps and DD...sounds like you are working toward a breakthrough and 2x per week may give you the momentum you need. The intimacy (into me see) you have established here is an example of your capacity to be vulnerable. The healthy boundary setting and maintaining is something I work on, in my life. Shirl...is the ten foot pool for you, grandkids, and or animals ? Have fun this weekend. Peps, your floors and roses are outstanding ! I am certain you are eager to have your pack back together ! Continue to purge as you unpack. I respect your thought process regarding the transcription materials. Perhaps save one sample ?

We were at the lake with the dogs on leash yesterday and with minimal notice, Atlas lunged into the lake (DC let go of his leash when he started to go in too) and caught a bird. He paddled around a bit, not responding to recall, until it was too challenging to swim and hold a bird in his mouth. He swam in to shore and dropped the bird, which had died. There were no apparent injuries so either Atlas scared it to death or it drowned. We felt really bad for the bird, but Atlas gently retrieved it as opposed to attacking it. Raining today, so inside work. We were eight composite boards short of completing the decking, and are awaiting a reorder. Hiring a contractor would have been the wiser choice all of the way around, but DC is so enthusiastic and invested .. bonus !

Weight 123.8, WW Bluepoints 9. WTH! I haven't been over my range since late April. I know I was high on eating a couple of days this week but really?

Diane, I am glad DC is pleased with the work on the deck. It will be worth all the work!

SIL's appointment was mixed. She does have a small increase in the size of one of the affected lymph nodes, but the oncologist suggested that they keep watching it closely for now. The treatments all have significant side-effects including pneumonosis which would not be good especially in our time of Covid. So instead of every 3 months she will go back to seeing him every 6-9 weeks. Of more concern is a small mass in her bladder which could be a different cancer. She is being referred to a urologist on that, so may be undergoing a biopsy etc. on it this summer.

The date is tomorrow night. Today SIL, 2 friends and I are kayaking on our pond. We are bringing a picnic lunch. Right now the weather is gorgeous so hopefully it will be the same when we go out at 10.

DS is still in a snit which started over his paranoia around outside doors being opened when the cat is around. So he is keeping her in the lower level with the door closed which I prefer anyway. But I don't like having DS slinking around here in a mood all day.

Have a healthy Saturday!

Diane, I think the bumps in your project are probably worth the engagement of DC. He knew how he wanted it completed.

Liz, sorry to hear your son is still having a hard time. Doesn't sound like fun for him or you. Love your kayaking plans.

Who knows what possesses our scales. It took me all week to drop the water weight from one weekend, and I don't think I went that crazy. Today I am a tiny smidge lower than I was last Friday. Hopefully tomorrow brings a new loss.

Some of the beaches in Minneapolis are now open again. DH has to work, but DD and I are on our way in a few minutes. Supposed to be 90 today, so there will be swimming. Well I hope anyhow. The way things keep changing, we could get to Minneapolis and find out the beach is closed. But anyway, off we go. :)

The marine layer is just starting to clear, but will be around the next few days. This close to the coast we get May Gray, June Gloom, and if we're lucky, No Sky July. There are enough months of unrelenting heat that most of us celebrate these days of cool, cloudy mornings and comfortable temps with afternoon sun.

Upon closer inspection of my plants, 1 of the 3 Mexican Sage plants is a different variety, so I'll need to take that back to exchange it today. I lost the receipt between there and home, but hopefully that won't be an issue.

Thank you all for your positive spins on therapy. It helped!

Happy Saturday (and Sunday, Shirl)!

Today I have a grooming scheduled and a quick ear setting for a pup. Will have to go get GOAT and bring it back home so it is here and waiting for the floor guys on Monday. I am really loving the new floors.

As I purge I need to think about reorganization. In my teens and earlier adulthood, until about 35 or 40, I was pretty organized. Now not so much. Not sure what happened, but it is getting worse the past 2 years. Hmmmm..... I wonder if it is a symptom of being overly scheduled and tired? Perhaps now that I am not so taxed is the reason why there is a pull to reorganize my external life? Or maybe it is because I feel out of control with my weight and I'm learning a new way to deal with my weight and weight loss that I feel even more disorganized and lacking control, so I want to exert control over my external life??????

Against my eating disorder's wishes, I did meet with the NUT yesterday. LOL! It was a decent session. She pointed out that although I had some expectations that were not met and frustrated me, I did not react with all or nothing behavior or thinking. Score.... I was down 1.7 pounds this morning. Hopefully, I will keep peeing out this water weight. I may try not weighing every day this week. Not weighing yesterday seemed to help me relax about the NUMBER.

Kayaking and beach going.... sounds like normal summer fun. I am longing for some normal fun, too! Yet, I am hesitant to do such things here. CA's numbers are still on the rise. Though in my county it's not too terribly bad. I'm feeling like I want to play it safe. No restaurants, no gatherings are in my immediate future.

Happy Saturday....

Peps, today did feel normal! Went to one of favorite Minneapolis beaches. The parking lot was closed, and the parkway that goes around the lake was reduced to a one way, one lane road (the other lane was locked off for roller balding and bikes), so it was a little challenging to get there, but otherwise blessedly normal. In general, unless we're forced to by limited space, Minnesotans are naturals at social distancing. I feel comfortable outside or dining on a patio. But I'm not going into stores that don't require masks, and nothing could compel me to eat indoors.

Good Morning All

Another quick pop in as I leave the farm in a littw over an hour to go have lunch with DSS & his family.

Had a lovely day yesterday- picked up the pool. Its great. Cant wait to see it set up. Then met a girlfriend we had morning tea then went plant shopping. Way too many came home with me . Came home via SIL and changed all the waters for her chooks & ducks, topped up feeds & watered her pot plants under covered area. Then home to mow. Stopped just on dark and had gotten my pjs on & way just sitting down to a cup of tea when I heard neighbour calling me. They had gotten bogged badly in their block. I changed and got our recovery gear and hopped on the tractor. It took 2.5 hours in near freezing temps but I was able to tow them out backwards. Their little girls sat so well in the car as we all worked to get them out. Felt good to be able to help & step outside my comfort zone. We can achieve anything we set our mind too!

Well I had best run- the tractor is covered in clumps of mud & I need to clean it before I put it back in the shed. We have a massive frost this morning so that will keep me moving....

Will check in again later. Love to you all my second family

Go, Shirl, go!!!!! Good for you. In the US pot plants are POT Plants, weed, maryjane, etc... so I got a chuckle out of watering your SIL's pot plants. I'm sure you were referring to her potted plants on her covered patio area.... But, I like to think of your cool Aussie SIL growing weed for her recreational pleasure.

Which makes me think of the film The Dressmaker. Have you seen it? One of my favorite "art" films.
