Weight 121.6 - all I can say about eating yesterday is PIZZA. But my weight is fine and it has been a long time since I had any so I am not beating myself up. One night will not lead to more...

I am meeting my women friends from the Alzheimer's Support group for lunch at the harbor today as we did a couple of weeks ago. They are fun and wise and we have all dealt with so much.

And tomorrow I am meeting a guy for coffee whose wife died 2 days after DH. Kind of weird timing. But should be somewhat interesting...

Other than that if I get inspired I should work on stripping the bathroom floor some more but I am not sure I am that motivated right now with the humidity. Not hot enough for me to turn the AC on yet, but scrubbing the floor is going to get me sweating like crazy. Good excuse to defer it anyway..

Have a safe and healthy day!

Quick drive by....

Yesterday was spent driving 600+ miles to Lompoc and back. Dropped off most of the dogs at the show kennel.

Flooring guys are supposed to arrive 9ish. Still have to pack up the 'office'

Father's Day can bring up a lot of feels. Some of us are fortunate to have our fathers, and want to celebrate the good men that they are. Some, like my husband, lost their Dads and miss them. A few people I know are estranged from their fathers, and this day just reminds them again of the pain they suffered at the hands of someone who was supposed to be their protector and ally. It gets complicated.

Our son was in very good spirits, and seems really happy in the life he is building in Madison. He starts a new job today, and is excited about the new opportunity, and exudes confidence. It's a pleasure to see. He is the kid who I always worried about, with good reason. I'm telling myself I can stand down.

Back home, and the cat is letting us know that he wasn't in favor of our absence. Our last trip was the first weekend of February. If not for COVID, we would have been to NYC, Boston and Miami since then. I don't think he has much to be so indignant about.

Today is DHs last vacation day, but he has another week scheduled in July. That was going to be another trip to Boston for a wedding. Rescheduled for July 2021. I'm not sure what we'll do today, overcast, but not sure if it is actually going to rain.

Welcome home - glad you had such a wonderful trip. The pics looked amazing.

As a parent we never stop worrying but it must be great to see your DS so happy. Means you can focus on the path ahead of you xxx

Lunch and a gab went on for 3 hours and the weather perfect while we were all able to sit in the shade of the umbrella. It was really nice to get together. This was the first get together one of them has had with anyone since all of this started. I think she enjoyed being out.

I'm dreaming about refreshing some of my planters. But what to pick! I think it's easier in MI because I don't really need to worry about what it looks like outside of spring and summer. Gardening in CA gets a bit exhausting because it's never over and put to bed for a spell or buried under snow. I've never really gotten the hang of sequencing beds so there is always something interesting going on and making sure everything in the same bed has the same water needs.

And I'm itching to start unloading all of my kitchen cupboards and drawers and starting over... I so rarely get these bursts of productivity I want to pack in what I can!

So glad it went well - It would have been so nice to sit out in that wonderful entertaining area and relax with friends. No doubt Ferg loved all the attention too :)

Good Morning All

Sitting here working while in quarantine - My mum came down with cold like symptoms and she has only seen my eldest son and I - so after having mild symptoms over the weekend, I decided to go get tested. My nose most definately protested but I was happy to go rather than Mum. She is too high risk. The results should be 2-3 days maybe 4 - so we wait. If mine is clear then I can safely assume she is too. Crossing everything at this point. Have cancelled DS coming home tommorrow night - till I know the results. So there will be no weekly trip over to DSS and grandbaby hugs. They are thinking of going into self isolation for a period until the worst of this current cluster has settled and I think its a good idea. I will miss them all terribly but health and safety are the most important.

So not a lot on today. Just work and I will cook up the lamb chops I took out to make for DSS and family. I will be eating them all week no doubt..... Thinking of doing them in garlic, oregano n lemon for a change. Roast up some vegetables and maybe make a silverbeet bake - see what I feel like.

Have been binging on Netflix - currently watching Marcella - finished Season 2 in the wee hours of this morning. Will start on Season 3 after the news tonight.

Well I had best go and get started on the emails etc etc

Hope you all have a wonderful evening

I hope for all of you but especially your Mum that the results are negative. Thanks for mentioning Marcella. I need more series to watch!
