Didn't do much yesterday except walk Justice along the ocean. The most popular beach in the area looked packed. Technically each group might have been far enough from every other and the group sizes were 10 or under, but I was kind of shocked. It is a beach that many people walk to. The ones with less foot traffic aren't anywhere near as busy because their parking lots are half blocked off. Regardless it looks like our beaches should definitely be avoided on weekends, which I was more or less planning to do anyway.

I did finally watch Just Mercy with DS last night. Really good movie.

Today is kind of sad since it is Father's Day. I am sure my children will be thinking about their Dad.

It is foggy this morning but should be another very warm day. In fact the extended forecast calls for full summer weather for all days shown with only the possibility of some late day showers now and then. I may visit with some friends today - nothing definite.

Stay safe and healthy!

Aargh! I lost my first attempt. Today I'm having a couple of friends come over for lunch and a gab in the backyard. I got six giant bags of mulch put down and with the power washing and the cushions out I think it looks nice. The house got a bit of a pick up and a vacuum so that was good too. I need to buy more mulch for the front yard and the bits of the backyard that I missed. My energy streak continues...

Thinking of all on this Father's Day. I know these parental recognition days can be both celebratory and bittersweet at the same time.

Made a few boards on the mill then came in to cool off. Did dishes, made popsicles for Adalyn and bathed both the dogs. Busy busy. I feel like I am channeling Shirl. If I get a second energy surge I may clip Bosco the Havenese.

Looked at a house for DS for my input on a remodel yesterday. Well built. Worth a redo. The lot would be worth more than the house because they own the building next to it and it is at the only stoplight in town. They may move the house but they were thinking it might be good to use as an office for a while.

It has been a mild start to summer. 91 yesterday. I think the almanac said it was going to be a hot one this year. If I have inside woodworking to do I like to do it in the mornings. The dust collector sucks out all of the AC so I try to work in the morning and then turn on the AC. Outside the sawmill is under a huge Ash tree. So it is shaded most of the day.

Good Morning All

Happy Fathers Day to all you Dads - those present and passed

Back after a nice weekend. Saturday I went and collected a new bedhead and side tables for our room - secondhand but I fell in love with them. Then came home and worked most of the day around the city house. Got the succulent leaves sorted - Im attempting to propagate them - fingers crossed. And some lettuce plants into pots that I grew from seed. I weeded the veggie patches and cleaned up the yard. Felt good. Then did some cooking Saturday late afternoon. Had a bit of a sore throat so went to bed by 8pm as I wasnt feeling great. Sunday - wait for it - I woke early but stayed in bed watching netflix till noon....... Then did a few things and then watched more netflix till bedtime. I felt lazy but it certainly has re-charged my batteries. Much needed.

As I have mentioned, a lot of our restrictions have been easing and while most people are being sensible - its always the few that ruin it for us all. We have had 5 consistant days of new infections in double figures. Worrying indeed. It has meant the Victoria Premier is rolling back some of the easing of restrictions. From this morning we are back to only having 5 people in our homes etc. They have also identified 5 areas in and around Melbourne that are on a do not travel to or from list if possible. Thats the areas both my stepchildren & grandbabies are in :( They have not banned it as yet but I think if we continue to see the figures we are - we will be back into lockdown within the next 2-3 weeks.

Weight - lots of snacking over the weekend so will wait till tommorrow to assess the fallout from that

Well I had best go and get started on work. Super cold this morning, have the wood fire roaring

Love to you all

S

Even you need to recharge sometimes Shirl! I hope you will still be able to see your family. We are pretty quiet with the virus here in Massachusetts but who knows what the future will bring.

Greetings Dear Ones

Little going on here. Checked the post office and gallery as my job is rent ranger. Looks like I sold some more wine stopper- slugs so will have to make more. They are very easy to make but then someone else fires them for me. The galleries are having respectable sales - not like last June but worthwhile. Studio is still waiting reopening approval.

Our favorite nephew is coming up to visit us in July some time. He just likes us. He has lost 90 lbs on keto diet and I hope it continues to work for him. He was considering WLS but his mom talked him out of it. Anyway it will be fun.

Summer here is truly awesome. Sunny yet seldom over 70 degrees in the coastal zone. Flowers are having a field day and the neighborhood is full of color.

Liz glad you got a beach walk in. I want to take my old dog to the beach and need to get those seat covers recommended by Cecily so I can put a wet sandy dog in the car.. DH is obsessing about how Chip won't eat much. Truth is that Chip is FAT and does not need to eat more. He has trouble jumping on the bed and would be better off with 2 lbs gone but no telling DH that.

Cecily your yard looks great! What a nice hang out.

It occurs to me I should to my patriotic duty by doing some on line shopping. Amazing that in my old age I have little desire to acquire stuff but there are things I need. Like I just realized the guest bedroom sheets are over 20 years old. I have bought no new clothes for at least 6 months. The vertical blinds on the sliding back door are falling apart and still have dog pee stains from when Chip was a puppy. I was trying to figure out how to fix them when I thought "just get new". Hate them anyway.

Anyway, time to get out the credit card and have at it.

Roasted vegetables tonight. DH wants a can of chili.

take care all. My little brother turns 66 tomorrow! Diane S
