Peps
on 6/18/20 2:54 pm

It is interesting to me to see the different degrees people are beginning to open up their lives socially. I'm still hesitant to do certain things. I guess my bubble is not getting bigger very quickly. I am certainly not ready to do anything close to public dining - even if it is outdoors, but I am willing to do my one on one sessions in the empty gym, go grocery shopping, pick up take out, and visit some of my closer friends in an outdoor setting with appropriate social distancing. I'm even comfortable having one of my clients stay in my grooming room while I trim her dogs - but she is the only one. Like Ceci, she lives alone, is devoted to her dogs and has taken social distancing and the quarantine very seriously. It is taking a toll on her, but she is sticking to it. I keep the AC on and the windows open when she comes - just to be safer.

my weight seems to have leveled off and found a happy place. That means I need to switch some things up to get different results. I am trying to figure that out. Part of what I need to do is wrap my head around the fact that I can make changes without feeling deprived or like I'm in diet mode.

Looks like my gym owners are going to bail. They sold their house and are looking to relocate to Idaho. They will not be selling the gym, but closing it down and moving all the equipment to a new facility in Idaho. My initial reaction was BOOOOOOOOOOOO! I was feeling a little bummed out and lost when I got the news on Tuesday, but am settling in to it better now. I will be fine. I may perhaps even convert part of the garage to a gym. We'll see. i will start looking at new gyms in July when the gyms in the county are allowed to reopen.

Not much else here, except packing up stress. Ron is freaking out a bit, but he sits and watches tv, so I'm not buying into his stress. if he were truly stressed, you'd think he'd get up off his rump and get busy. LOL! Procrastination is his comrade, too!

Greetings Fellow Procrastinators

Many of you are exceptions. I am the absolute queen of P. Still looking at junk that has been here for months. We still have stuff packed from when we moved nearly 20 years ago. Oh well.

Not much to report. I still spend my time fooling with numbers and finance trying to make sure our art studio survives. I think it will but some of our board members are so short sighted (read: dumb) that it wears me out trying to get them to see the point. One person cannot figure out that a space leased for $1200 and subleased for $1000 results in a $200 loss. Makes me crazy. Ideas on how to increase revenue are about as good as having a show in my dad's barn. Lot of emails last night with idiotic ideas. Oh well, vent over.

I confess to eating mac and cheese from a box tonight. Just to tired to make anything else. Good news is gyms might open in a few weeks but not sure how the pool part will work. I am envisioning ways to go to the pool and then wrap myself in plastic to drive home so as to avoid locker room.

Whoo Hoo, there are now multi colors in sweet peas. And more sugar snaps than we can eat. Must share.

Peps sorry your gym is closing. Hope you find a new and better one.

Take care all. Someday I will start thinking about my excess weight but right now its kind of nice to be on vacation from it. Diane S

I do hope there will be a safe way for you to use the pool. Once you find something you actually enjoy, it's such a disappointment to lose it.

My Y is one of the few branches that will be opening first week in July, and the guidelines/restrictions are mind blowing. All classes (water & dry) must be pre-registered for in advance. Much of the equipment for strength training has been removed /shut down to allow for social distancing. Two people per lane in the pool, no sauna or steam room.

At least during the summer, could you just wrap up in a big towel (or terry cloth something) for the ride home from the pool?

If the pool opens, look for "car seat covers for after gym" on Google. They are waterproof and stay put by hanging onto the headrest. I have them for after hiking as my friends who use more sunscreen than I do (and more than I think any human needs), get white stuff and sweat all over my dark chocolate colored leather seats which is really hard to get off. You just throw them in the wash. I have these: https://www.dri-seats.com/collections/waterproof-seat-covers ?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIr__ygJ-O6gIVYh-tBh1H5wEcEAAYASAAEgKY8PD_B wE

Oh thank you Cecily for the seat cover info. I had no idea there was such a thing. I was considering tying a trash bag around the car seat like I did with myself and the heart monitor. This is a much better idea. D
