Weight 121.2, WW Bluepoints 10.
It is gray out this morning but hopefully it brightens up. Gray days don't help my mood and bother me more when my mood is already down.
DS went out to dinner with SILs last night but I stayed home. I was not in the mood. Tonight DS is having friends over which means a lot of noise so I am not looking forward to it. But of course he will be cooking which in this case means grilled swordfish and veggies for me. And it did prompt him to finish cleaning the screen porch. Speaking of which I am thinking of recovering the cushions for the furniture there. I never liked the colors much. That would be easier than wall painting.
Not much else to report. Have a safe and healthy day!

Liz, I'm sorry to hear you are having a bad time right now. There is plenty of reason. I hope the sun comes out soon both literally and metaphorically.
Not much happening here. I started reading a non fiction book by one of my favorite authors, Barbara Kingsglover, called Animal, Plant, Miracle. The book is about the food industry, and the eat local movement. Sounds rather dry, but she is such an exceptional writer, I could hardly put it down. She just about has me convinced to go buy 25 pounds of tomatoes from the farmers market in August and can them. :)
We have tickets for a concert tomorrow at an outdoor cafe. The concert is a Night in Brazil. Very much looking forward to it.
The year is half over. Hoping next year is better. I have to admit the chaos of racial agendas is weighing on me. I only know my little world. Not many non white people live around here. But it is not the type of place you would come to start a new life. It is more of a place to come to retire because you need your money to go further. Housing is relatively cheap.
Adalyn has gotten all of the handling of the tadpole that the little critter could stand. So I turned it lose today. She is so entertaining when you are not pulling your hair out with her outbursts. She is speaking more. After I give something to her or do something for her she will say Thank you PopPop. I always answer you are welcome Adalyn. There have been a couple of times out of the clear blue she will hug my leg and say I love you PopPop. It just melts me. We were worried for so long that she was non verbal. It makes me very grateful that she is able to express her feelings. Lately she wakes talking about me and tadpoles.
I am cutting some pine trees and turning them into lumber for the tiny house. Pine is easier to cut than the hardwoods. It is just as heavy. DS is trying to turn the farm back into pasture. Most of the trees are less than 30 yrs old. Maybe the logging will drop some lbs.

Good Morning All
Firstly - sending you a huge Aussie Hug Liz xxx Sorry you are feeling down
Busy start to the morning here after a restless nights sleep. I have a huge tray of osso bucco in the oven - will slow cook it for 4-5 hours and serve with cheesy mash - perfect winter food. Should be nice to take over to DSS's for dinner tonight. I made an apple & sour cream slice for dessert. DSS partner made pasta sauce yesterday and wants to send some home with me. Im super touched to be thought of. Looking forward to seeing our beautiful grandbabies. I picked them up a few little things while shopping on the weekend.
Not a lot else today - will just be work then head over to DSS
Leap - Adalyn is just gorgeous and melts my heart - you are a wonderful Pop Pop x
Cec, Ann, Bonnie x 2 & Paula - Are you doing ok? Your voices are missed
Have a wonderful day all

liz, sorry you are/were having a blue day. I know what you mean by gray days not helping an already gray mood. BTW, does anyone know why gray and grey are both acceptable spellings? Too lazy to research it, but may have to because now it is on my mind.
Pop Pop! One of the best grandfather names ever! I'm so glad you have Adalyn to brighten your days and fill them with unconditional love. Your words radiate joy when you write about her.
Missing the voices of many around here lately, but I get the allure of being off the grid at times. I was very pleased to read Diane S's post yesterday. Glad you are enjoying your young visitors. Are they family?
Weight, food, eating... The journey continues. I am reminding myself over and over yesterday and today that I am working on behavior and not looking for a miracle pill. It is difficult some days to not want to diet and use an outside program to lose weight. The SLOW downward progress does not support my instant gratification desires concerning weight loss and body image. So, I breathe deeply, do the best I can each day, and am being truly gentle with myself around food and eating. I am feeling confident that my growing awareness is leading to positive, permanent changes.
I made the down payment on the new floor today. I'm really very excited. We have decided to do some repainting of walls, too. We will be looking pretty fresh and spiffy here in a few weeks! Happy, happy, joy, joy!
Finished reading Animal, Vegetable, Miracle. I would highly recommend it! I won't be going 100% locavore, because it would mean no citrus, no peaches, no grapes, avocados, kiwi, pineapple etc except when I travel. But it did make me think about buying more than what I will eat in a week from farmer's markets. I am thinking about buying larger quantities to freeze, like tomatoes, making sauce and freezing that etc. If I use frozen corn I buy from the store, maybe buying sweet corn in season and freezing it myself would be more delicious... does anyone here still can or freeze produce?
We do as much as possible
Have just started a vegetable patch down at City House - The farm will have a huge one once we are there full time as we cant maintain it during the summer heat well enough. It will also have a big poly tunnel so I can grow vegetables during the cold winters up there.
We make all our own chutneys, sauces, passatas etc etc - also stew and bottle fruits & veg from SIL's farms. Blanch excess vegetables and freeze. And we of course grow our own beef - lamb comes from BIL's farm. Eggs are from our Chickens too. Its a wonderful way to live if you can do it - I would highly recommend.
