VSG Maintenance Group
Sunday, Flag Day 2020
Weight 120.2, WW Bluepoints 27 or thereabouts. Our get together last night was quite enjoyable though it got very chilly on the deck with a NE wind. I ate a brownie which I shouldn't have so I am guessing my weight will bounce back up tomorrow. Strange how extra eating usually takes an extra day to show. I am back to maintenance now so am having what I want within reason. I am generally still eating the same things I have for the last 6 months but having a bit more. For instance, I have been adding sweetened yogurt and strawberries on my morning pancake (made with an egg and a banana) after I saw Devon's version.
Today I may go to the beach for a while. With the wind from the NE the beach should be fairly pleasant (our ocean beaches all face south or west).
Not much else to report. DS plans to clean the screen porch today as he is having friends over tomorrow night. That will be the last of the major outdoor cleanup.
I am thinking about what my next project should be. I have two rooms I would like to paint a soft grey, but I am not sure my shoulders could handle it. But maybe if I took my time I would be okay.
Have a safe, healthy and enjoyable Sunday!

Good morning. Sunny and windy here! I think my paper will blow away if I try to read on the porch! Liz, your deck looks very inviting, too bad the wind didn't cooperate.
I am still liking this new WW program. Over the past week I've enjoyed lots of fresh, whole foods, but I've also had wine, cake, and pizza, and I am still seeing the scale inch down.
I have dreams of repainted rooms also Liz. I hesitate to do them myself because I am a very clumsy painter and inadvertently drip or spill paint. Once when I wanted to repaint the kitchen I used a mini roller. It took longer, but it did give me more control. :)
We watched a movie on Amazon last night called, Blow the Man Down. It's a murder mystery set in a quirky little town in Maine. Sinister, but not very gory. I recommend it.
Time for the Sunday paper and chai latte!
My daughter wanted to get some sun, and since I'm not allowed to leave the house due to procedure on Tuesday, we had to find some in our yard. Not an easy task, we ended up in our beach chairs on the driveway. Since I can't put an above ground pool on the driveway, I must let my dreams of a pool float away. It was comfortable today, 76 and windy. But when we came in, I thought about Liz and her mister, so I ordered one from Amazon. Won't be here this week during the 90s spell, but it should arrive eventually.
LOL! We do what we can to stay cool!

Good Morning All
Back from a wonderful and relaxing weekend with my DSD. It was so nice to spend one on one time with her. Memories being made - my heart is very happy :)
We did lots of exploring. I treated her to breakfast at DH and I's favourite cafe then walked around Yackandandah, then onto Beechworth for a look. Picked up some bargins at the community Thrift store then back to farm. My Nephew called over after work - fed him and we all chatted and laughed the afternoon away. I got a beef slow cooker on. BIL called past with a whole lamb for our freezer so he had a quick cuppa too. DSD and I watched Netflix Saturday night. Sunday was a sleep in and leisurely breakfast then a visit to BIL (dropped off a huge lot of the beef stew)- she met the orphaned calf. I will post pictures on TT. Then onto Woolshed Falls as she hadnt seen it in years - it was flowing beautifully after good rain on Saturday night. Called into a friends house and collected merino wool headbands she had made for the girls. Gave DSD hers and she put it right on. Late Lunch at Glenrowan then we drove to a Gemstone place that was up the road from the previous farm. I found a piece from Madagascar which just spoke to me. It was expensive but it had to come home with me. Sparkles blues, teals, purples depending on the light. Its just so beautiful. Lovely way to end a special weekend. I got DSD a lovely stone trinket box to put away for her Christmas - she fell in love with it.
I am feeling very blessed and content
This week is reasonably busy early on. Collecting matching cushions for my Grandsons Christmas Quilt Set - Toy Story - tonight. Tommorrow night is the normal Tuesday night over at DSS. I havent seen much of my DS so might suggest we either go out for dinner or get takeaway tonight - he goes back to his Dads on Wednesday. The rest of the week Im just going to potter. Waiting to see if DSD needs me to tow horse float this weekend or next and help move her ponies so kinda up in the air with that.
Weight is 174.2 - up but I think a lot of that is late dinner once I finally made it home - oh and maybe too many biscuits with a cuppa :X
I had best go start my day. Will pop back soon to catch up
S
It sounds like a fantastic weekend. Wonderful that you are forming that bond with DSD!

Greetings Friends
Not much going on here. Covid restrictions are still pretty evident Though there are some restaurants opening up. Our young visitors are happy with outdoor stuff which is a good thing because thats what there is. We did this scenic overlook yesterday and then the beach. Too cold for swimming but the little kids were happy to spend the day trying to fill in the pacific ocean with sand. Timing was poor (missed low tide) so no starfish to be seen but plenty of shells and rocks to collect. Today I sent them off on several possible redwood drives/hikes. And to the town with all the junky chain saw art. What a lovely young family. They have the kid's nanny with them who is from France and appreciating the wild west. I made sure they had some actual paper maps as there are places out here with little cell service and google maps has not found it yet. Siri can't help you if you are lost in the redwoods.
They found the body of the young man who went missing sea kayaking. All you paddlers out there be careful.
Shirley your slice of life sounds just delightful. What a fun crew you have. Glad you can get out and about. Ditto Liz.
Methinks I spy little buds on the sweet peas.
We watched a quirky French film last night called "Aimilee". Story of an odd girl who does mysterious good deeds.
I really need to get more active. Yesterdays beach hike made me sore. Going up and down dry sandy dunes is like using a stair climber. I want my swimming pool back!!!
Good luck with painting all. Seems like the hardest part is getting stuff out of the way in order to paint. I now have a good friend who is an exceptional house painter so I may never paint again.
Off to the health food store for milk and hamburger.
Cheers all. Diane S
It is probably good that California is still pretty quiet. Luckily you have a lot of natural beauty to enjoy.
