PopPop, keep posting those sweet videos ! Adalyn is just too cute ! Peps, I don't like chain saws, but I wield a mean circular saw. I even have my own crowbar, lady sized ! Liz, your heart band necklace will be superb ! DD, I love your paddling stories. Our lives are much better curbing TV too. Diane, is business picking up in the gallery ? BB, keep those pictures of your sweet girls coming ! Ceci, are the virus numbers up in your area ? S & A send hugs to Fergus ! Shirl, have a great time with DSD !

Well, we finally have everything but the framing off our 15' by 30' deck. I'm painting (solid stain) plywood for new base decking and today I'll sand and paint the apron. Who paints decking and rails DARK brown ? DC has built a seat that rests between the joists, to allow him to scooch and sit while working. Hoping to paddle board this weekend ! I have to get some masks done for my salon appointment this coming Friday. I ordered hair stylist, nail technician and massage therapist fabric weeks ago, to make custom masks for my ladies ! I also have to make a few solid color masks for us, for when we dress up to go out. I've realized that most of my sundresses / dressier tops are patterned and our current masks clash.

LOL on masks matching dresses and tops! My SIL had a navy blue one on yesterday to match her navy and white top. I hadn't even thought about that prior to last night but I guess up until now the only time I was out wearing one was to the food store. Fun prints work well for that.

Weight 121, WW Bluepoints 24 or thereabouts. Dinner out was great. We were outside on a deck next to the harbor. Though there is very reduced seating and the weather was perfect for outdoor dining, it wasn't busy. I guess a lot of people are uncomfortable with dining out. We were very far from everyone else and all had masks on except when eating/drinking. I think the server is at more risk than the diners right now.

SILs are coming for a cookout tonight - Menu TBD by DS. We are going to power-wash the deck furniture first as the worst of the pollen seems to have finally subsided. We aren't breaking yellow air anymore.

Have a safe and healthy Saturday!

I had my Covid screening this morning. Much ado about nothing. I've had many, many tests that have been more unpleasant. I'd rank it similar to a streph test. By the time your mind is protesting that there is a swab somewhere where it shouldn't be, it's done. I expect that in the coming years, many of us will be swabbed, and probably more than once. I won't fret about it anymore.

My mask received compliments from 2 different staff members. I was wearing the bright, geometric print :) Diane, I'm sure your people are going to love their custom fabric masks. What sparks of happiness your sewing talents set in motion!

Yesterday was my 8th anniversary of my surgery. Even with some regain, I declare my surgery a glorious success. Before surgery, I knew what obesity was stealing from my life. The final theft was my mobility. I made every effort to be an active fat person, but I could feel it slipping away. I could see a very limited future heading my way, one that put me on the sidelines of life. It was like I was a rusty pick up with bad gas mileage, and everyone else was zipping around like shiny sports cars.

But it wasn't until after my surgery that I fully realized how many things I had stopped doing or stopped dreaming of doing because of obesity. WLS unlocked the door to my fat prison. I am still free from fat prison today. The things I do or don't do are because I choose. I choose. Not my fat, not my size, not my bulk. I choose based on what I want, not on where I fit, or where I can walk to, or where I will sit. Freedom. June 12, 2012 is my own personal Independence Day. I would endure the surgery and my somewhat bumpy recovery again, to enjoy my freedom. I love my sleeve.

Diamond D., Happy Surgiversary! Congrats on all your success.

Peaks and Valleys. Today was a peak, but I must remember it's not a big deal. Peaks and Valleys... stay the course.

Had a FaceTime meeting with the nutritionist yesterday and that went well. I was feeling very up and positive. Actually, I am feeling pretty positive about my non diet diet, method of eating, whatever you want to call it.

Covid19 is continuing to impact my daily and my dog life. Yesterday the largest Terrier Show in the US cancelled. Boooooooo.... especially since I was assigned to judge Airedale Sweepstakes (a big deal and quite an honor). They are now talking about holding the national specialty in December in Orlando, FL. That could be fun, too, if Florida is doing a good job with lessening the spread of Covid19 by summer's end. If not, not so sure I want to go there. We shall see.

Got all the estimates done for the flooring and am pleased that I will be able to get the whole house done at the very low end of my budget, if I choose to use the high end product I like. If I go for a slightly cheaper product, I will come in under budget. I will probably go for the high end flooring. I like it better. So by the end of the month I should have brand new doggy friendly floors. My BFF who knows his wood looked at the samples last night and said he would not have known the flooring was not real wood. That really pleased me, because he's a picky and visual as I am and even more so when it comes to wood.

Most relaxing morning I have had in months. Still lounging after a lovely brunch, but it is time to get a move on with what little remains of the day.

Go for what you want on the flooring. Sounds like it isn't a big difference and you might kick yourself later if you don't.

I spent a little time going back and reading some posts here from March and April, and a bit of the end of February. Knowing what we know now, it is fascinating to see the trajectory of our dawning awareness of what coronavirus was, and what it was going to mean to our lives. I for one, thought most of us would have been infected by August, making traveling potentially okay. Ha! Anyhow, a real time account from different places in the country. Our opinions and knowledge take some wild swings from the beginning of March to the end of March... And it made me miss Anne, David and Miss 150 all the more.

I do not know if I posted this or not. I tried a couple of times but the disappointment of living in nowhere is the internet sucks.

Well I cut the white oak tree and loaded 2 of the 4 logs a couple of days ago. The base is 33 inches. I have 34 inches between the posts on the sawmill. It is still partially blocking the road but no one ever goes down it. I should have it cleaned up in a couple of days. I can only get a few hours in because the humidity is 907 percent.

We also have a pet snake. I think it is a king snake. He is a pet that is until DW finds it. It found the only gap in the perimeter steel and appears to be living / hiding in the shop or a hole under the shop. If it ever comes out on this side of the wall it will die a sudden death. Good snake or not.

The wood that I am cutting up is hardwood. Oak, hickory, and a**** is very heavy. There is plenty of softwood that is big enough to cut. It is normal building material. I am planning on cutting some in the next day or two to see if it handles any better. I may never get our tiny house built. Always a project. I do better mentally Always building something.

COVID news for my state is not good. Our rate is growing fast per capita. People don't get it or don't believe it. Still not many in our county.

more later, david
