Weight 121.2, WW Bluepoints 10.
Yesterday SIL and I shopped at one of our favorite stores just reopening. I got a new umbrella, chaise lounge cushions and new door mats to freshen things up a bit around here. It felt normal other than the masks and standing far apart from everyone.
Today my other SIL is coming for a visit - I don't think I have seen her since DH's funeral in early January. The 3 SILs and my DS are going to eat outside at a restaurant here for the first time.
I also went to a jeweler yesterday and my finger is feeling very weird. I am having my diamond resized to wear on my right hand and my wedding band made into a pendant. It will look similar to the picture below but with a diamond dangling in the center from another necklace that DH gave me. It felt like the right thing to do but feels sad.
Have a safe and healthy Friday!

I really slept in today, until almost 10 am. I've been puttering around, drinking tea, enjoying the feeling of nothing pressing to do. Once I get out of my jammies, I will probably do some weeding, finish planting a few bedding plants(and maybe buy some more), make some soup recipes I've been meaning to get to, but not in any hurry.
The weather is sensational, and predictions are for a very nice weekend. I'll have to enjoy it from the comfort of my home, as I'm not supposed to go anywhere once I have the COVID test tomorrow morning. It's all good. I've got comfy chairs on the front porch, a nice deck for dining, a hot tub for relaxing and a stack of new novels to entertain myself. And a pie plate of Liz's yogurt pie when I need a treat.
Greetings All
What a great idea for your wedding ring Liz. Looking forward to it. So nice you have all the SIL's around and can do stuff. Mine are scattered. SIL's I mean. Glad you did some shopping
My very best friend died a few years ago but her daughter and family are out here on a road trip now. I will see them later today. Two little boys who will be fun to take to the beach and tide pools. They are into tacky tourist attractions and such things abound here. "Trees of Mystery" will be a good one. I am sending them to lunch at the cafe on the island marina in the bay. Fishing boats and seals and birds will be fun for these Colorado kids. Its kind of drizzly which is unfortunate. Not much indoor stuff here.
I continue to ostrich about my weight though I think it is causing me to feel old and stiff. Not cool. Really missing the swimming pool.
DD glad you got some paddle time in. Fun.
I am with you Peps on the Tulsa rally. Not cool. Not sure if its our age or the times but DH and I are both obsessed with politics and current events. Maybe its being cooped up with the tv all day. Yesterdays activities were: trimming some deviant rose bushes, laundry and gluing little slugs on to wine stoppers for the gallery. Also some sci fi movie. Not exactly action packed.
Cheers to all . Diane S
The tv news does get us pulled in, doesn't it? Even our 27 year old daughter who had absolutely no use for cable news, and preferred to get her news from real newspapers has been put under CNN s spell. We're trying to not have the tv on in the background anymore. My father only watches PBS Newshour and reads the paper. I keep meaning to turn to PBS, their delivery is factual without any hysteria. I also find watching our local broadcast, plus the half hour of CBS or NBC nightly broadcast whips me up less than cable news. Don't get me wrong, I think there is PLENTY to be whipped up about right now, but I need to have a break now and then.
Wow, Liz! That's a big step. Can't wait to see how your jewelry turns out.
Yesterday's workout was a good one. I did 3 sets of squats combined with shoulder presses and I am feeling it in my hamstrings this morning! I am working on strengthening my lower back as a personal goal, since I've tend had some trouble in that area ever since I had a horseback riding accident when I was a teen. We did a lot work on back, but also did some chest to keep the 'push pull' balanced. I was pleased that I was able to support 120 pound horizontal lat pulls (kind of like a pulled row). Do be done correctly requires using the support of both the lower back and ab muscles.
Weight was back up .4 pound this morning. I am thrilled to be dancing between the high 267s and low 268s. Just last week it seemed I was doing this dance around 269 and 270. My newfound joy in the slow downward trend of my weight is really helping my overall general attitude, i think. Perhaps it is the realization or acceptance that weight loss, like the building of Rome, doesn't happen in a day. Also, not dieting is probably helping in ways that I am not yet able to sort through and set to words on a page. I like this place of baby step work and no hard fast rules about eating. Without rules in place, I'm not breaking any of them and therefore can't beat myself up for not being perfect. I am finding that for the first time in a long time I am enjoying experimenting with food to come up with satisfying, health forward, weight loss supportive recipes and meals.
It is overcast and a bit cooler today. The weather will be perfect for cutting up the Creek Willow limb that came crashing down from 30+ feet onto the deer fence and into the dog yard. Dottie was witness to this event and was certain that the sky was going to fall in. It took her all evening to recover. Of course, she could have been easily killed had she been about 10 feet closer to the fence, so I'm not surprised she was shaken. None of the other dogs were out at the moment, except for the puppies who were pretty clueless about it. They were up top on the patio and just heard the snap of the branch and fence. They didn't see the event. It won't be a huge job to clean up, but will require a chain saw, which I hate using! (I'm sure David and Diane O. are now rolling with laughter at my hesitancy to use the power tool!)
Getting another floor estimate today. Hope it is a little less than the one that came in yesterday, but i still don't think yesterday's estimate was horribly expensive.
