I've had quite a day. I logged into work, and then, one I took care of emails etc, decided to quickly mow the front yard. 3/4 of the way through, ran out of gas. I didn't want to put the wrong gas in, so I put the mower away. I really do have bad mowing karma.

But this time, maybe the karma was good, because almost immediately I got a call from the clinic where I had the mammogram yesterday. There was something they needed to check further. I was glad I was able to answer the call, because they scheduled me for 10:30am. I returned to the clinic, and they started with a 3D image. Still showed the dark spot. They then did an ultrasound. There is a nodule near my chest wall. It's about the size of a small pea, and they cannot say if it is benign or not benign from these tests.

I am scheduled for a biopsy next Tuesday. They said normally they like to do it sooner, but I have to have a COVID test first, and wait for those results. Someone will call to set that up by tomorrow. Am I crazy because I'm actually dreading the COVID swab more than the biopsy? Once I have the biopsy, I should have the results in 2-5 days.

So not how I planned to spend the first days of summer break... I am going to focus on the fact that the nodule can be several things other than cancer, and lots of people get referred for a biopsy and it is benign.

I know this is scary. I did have an ultrasound followed by a biopsy once and it turned out to be something benign.

I am so sorry you are going through this scare! Definitely not the way to start summer break! Boooooooooooo!

If it helps any, my mom had multiple lumps/nodules in her breasts and everyone of them was benign.

Hoping for quick good news for you, but I'm sorry you can't get in sooner. Damn Covid. I don't blame you for dreading the brain swab!

Yikes DD, you have indeed had quite a day. Wishing you the best on the biopsy. You have probably heard this a zillion times but I know many people who had biopsies that were benign including my mother. And sorry you have the covid swab as well. Yuck. Just yuck. Diane S

Good Morning All - another cold start but warmer than yesterday so Im running with that.

Weight 176.44 - owning it after the weekends food excess and indulgence

Had a nice night with DSS and his family last night. The grandbabies loved my chicken, bacon n veg pie - Ashton asked for seconds and Elliot inhaled his serve. DSS has asked me to give him the recipe (which is made up in my head but I will try n type it out today) We went to see his best mates new house and its lovely. Makes me so proud to see them all getting places of their own as I know how hard it is to get your foot into the property market. Had special time with the grandbabies - nothing brings me more joy tha****ching their faces light up when I walk through that door. Happy and content Nanna this morning. Will post some pics in TT group shortly

DH is doing well up in Queensland. More of the team arrived yesterday and their days are full. He is walking along the river each night so that is good.

I am going to see my friends son tonight for a cuppa. He is the special needs one and I havent seen him since before my knee replacement. I held back a little Banana Bread so will take him a treat. Also might try and find some soup in the freezer as he doesnt cook and enjoys my meals. DS comes home for the week today too so that will be nice. He goes to my mums every Wednesday morning and does her lawns, puts her bins out etc. She is sending our dinner home with him so I dont need to cook - She made Apricot Chicken and Rice last week in bulk and froze it in portions. Im very proud of her as shes not a cook.

Thats about all my news. Work is starting to pick up so im hoping the days are not so long and tedious. That being said I am thankful to save a job in the current situation

Liz - You are very talented. The slip covers look wonderful. Well done :)

BB- That Sheetpan Shrimp Boil sounds delicious - What time is dinner :)

Miss - Love the chair :)

Peps - Hope Luckys ear is healing well. You are doing so well with your head space and allowing yourself not to diet. Im very proud of you and the results are speaking loudly. Hope Ron feels better - send him a long distance social distanced Aussie HUG

DD- Sending you love and strength. I too have had a lump that was picked up via ultrasound and a biospy cleared it as anything nasty. The discovery sends you into a jumble of what ifs and though you try to be practical and patient - its hard. So sending another long distance social distanced Aussie HUG to you too. Thinking of you x

Diane O - You are in my thoughts lots x

Ann - I miss you and think of you daily - we are here when you are ready x

Leap - Need an Adalyn update :)

Cec - Give your gorgeous boy a big pet for me

Well I had best go and let the chooks out as its nearly 8am and the puppies. They are still snoozing on their beds - warm as toast

Have a wonderful evening all and here is a fridge magnet my best friend gave me years ago. This is my wish for you all xxx

Greetings Friends

Summer is really here and it is downright hot! Well 70 degrees. No air conditioners here on the coast.

Liz you are Martha Stewart (without the criminal conviction) in the slip cover department. Awesome job. My sewing machine doesn't work and I was barely able to stitch up a hole in DH's pants. He so needs new ones and gets three or more boxes a week from Amazon; none of it clothing.

Galleries are open and doing fairly well considering. People just want to get out of the house and do ANYTHING that is allowed. Me too.

My studio pal and I did a beach meet up yesterday. It was so great. I brought a single serving wine and she brought beer. We sat there for ours and watched boats come in and out of the launch, all kinds of sea birds, numerous dogs frollicing in the surf and such. It was windy but this beach is kind of a sheltered cove. Lots of people out on paddle boards and sea kayaks (DianeO thought of you).

I went to CVS today and scored big on Gevallier coffee on sale plus Skinny Pop. Its getting hard to find and I have a bad habit.

Our big giant rose bush seems to be hanging in there so I guess its not dead. And the sugar snap peas are making enough for a harvest.

DH is going over to a friends soon to take pictures after their house remodel due to roof blowing off in the wind. The guy is challenged and doesn't have a smart phone. His wife appears to have alzheimers disease which has progressed a lot recently. She was recently served a hamburger in paper at a restaurant and did not know what to do with it. The sad thing is the husband is not doing anything about it. She should at least be evaluated. Always a sunny happy person she is now somewhat crabby and needs some meds. Liz I think of how gracefully and courageously you handled your DH. This guy needs help. DH will scope it out.

Hey Peps, "mongrel" dinners are fun! No one hass to know they are from leftovers.

Good thoughts to DD.

Diane S

So sorry for your friend and his wife. She definitely should be evaluated and if it is dementia some guidance may help. However they need to rule out other causes first - I have a Florida friend who people thought was getting Alzheimers and it turned out that she had a benign brain tumor. Unfortunately because of the delay in diagnosis she has permanent brain damage, so cannot live independently. She won't get any worse now that it has been removed but it won't get any better.

Did the chair get painted too? It look painted in the first pic, but natural in the second. Great work on the slipcovers!

No, it is natural in both (just different lighting).
