Weight 121.2, WW Bluepoints 11.

I had an enjoyable lunch yesterday sitting by the harbor with two friends who I met through Alzheimer's support groups. Their husbands were friends with DH in the group and daycare. One lives where DH was and the other is moving there any day. Outdoor visitation with restrictions is finally allowed in Massachusetts long-term care after almost 3 months which is a big relief for them. One can see her DH and the other can move hers and have the ability to transition him. What a crappy disease! But I have met quite a few friends through it all who I truly value.

I FINISHED the slipcovers for SIL. Happy dance! I don't really enjoy sewing but I like the results. Below are the before (left) and after (right) pictures.

Today I may be going to get my tires replaced. One more thing I hadn't counted on as the car only has 24,000 miles but one of the tires is leaking air.

Oh and at least a couple of the restaurants I like opened for outdoor dining yesterday (only outdoor is allowed in Massachusetts now). Another happy dance!

Have a safe and healthy Tuesday!

I need to stop weighing every day again. That thing about needing more positive to overcome negative? Especially true when it comes to weightloss. It's amazing how I can have a solid loss, but the slightest upward tick and I'm upset.

This talk about cheesecake might make me go back and find the recipe!!

Last night I did a sheetpan shrimp boil. Not totally sure of the calories but I don't think it could be too bad. I modified it a bit, used half the sausage and potatoes (saving that for girls), 2 ears of corn insread of 3. And 3 T. of butter instead of 4. But in total it is:

3 ears of corn cut into 4 pieces

1lb. smoked sausage

1 lb. shrimp (I used shell off)

1lb. baby yellow potatoes

4 T. butter, melted

1 Tbsp old bay seasoning

lemon wedges and parsley for serving

Cook at 400 for 20 min or until potatoes are done

BB, when I was losing after VSG I only weighed once a month because I knew I couldn't handle the fluctuations. I do weigh daily now but the up ones still make me crazy. And I am an up and down maintainer, not like a couple of people on the RNY menu thread. I think those people eat almost the same thing every day. I eat very similar from day to day but my dinner is almost always different. And my bathroom habits have been a bit erratic since VSG.

Love the cushions! Totally need you for reupholster of a shabby (but beloved) comfy chair.... Right side fabric caught my attention and sent my feet a pattering up stairs as I was sure I recognized it as the same I put as a border on a quilt a few years ago... alas, similar, but not the same...cousins? Or maybe brothers from a different mother?

Liz, beautiful slipcovers! It looks as if you made completely new cushions, but perhaps they are just 'fluffed' nicely in the right picture.

The lemon blueberry pie I think got a little over done due to a dog 'emergency'. Either Dottie or Ace bit Lucky's ear during a fence run, so I had to tend to that rather than the pie in the oven. And believe me, ears BLEED! Ron didn't take the pie out right when the timer went off, but only a few minutes later. I'm not sure if being a little over done caused the texture to be less smooth than i was expecting given the batter I tasted. BUT THE FLAVOR IS FANTASTIC! It really tastes like cheesecake to me. I cut the pie up in to eighths. Took a slice and topped with the sugar free whipped cream I make for yogurt parfaits. I can see that this is going to be a staple in the house for me! THANK YOU!

My weight is down another smidgeon today - just over a half a pound. Again, no dieting.

We had Taco Tuesday on Monday. Ron declared it a 'fun' dinner. Cracks me up that when I use left overs to create a new dish they are no longer leftovers, but something 'fun'.

I think what I am finding so nice about where I am right now is that I have entered the guilt free zone and it is truly guilt free. No eating behavior is 'wrong'. Instead, whatever behavior I am engaging in is a choice. The foods I eat are choices, too. Sometimes a choice is geared to be supportive of health and nutrition. Sometimes it's a choice that is centered around an emotion or long standing coping mechanism that is non nutritive, but still serves a purpose on a different level. As long as I know the difference I feel I am making progress.

For the first time in my 'dieting' life, I am beginning to understand the downward trend over time philosophy. I remember someone posting a line graph of weight loss over time somewhat recently. (Liz, was that your WW loss graph?) While there were lots of little peaks and valleys all along the graph, the overall left to right flow of the graph was downward to goal weight. Whatever it is that has flipped the switch in my head also now understands that those daily fluctuations don't really amount to any significance as long as there is that downward trend over time. Who the hell am I?

I must get on with my day. I have a training session at the gym at noon. Ron is not feeling well, so I must play nurse. I have a few things planned for around here. Little projects each day instead of tackling monumental projects like cleaning out the garage. I think my garage would cause Liz, Diane and BB heart palpitations. You are all so neat and orderly and my garage just ISN'T!

I hate when OH eats my posts - must have an eating disorder.

The yogurt pie is rather grainy and somewhat dry. I have gotten so I love it so much that I really like the texture though I was unsure about it at first.

It was probably my graph. Here is one that I posted on OH a couple of months ago:

Good to know about the texture! i think as you mentioned, a sugar free compote would help. The whipped cream did, but the sugar free compote would be fewer calories.

Yes, this is the graph. I love seeing the valleys followed by peaks followed by more valleys, but over time it's going down. That is a hard graph to embrace for someone with an eating disorder and an all or nothing approach to dieting. I remembered the graph yesterday and all of a sudden it clicked with how it fits so well with the approach I'm doing my level best to adopt right now.

Yes compote on it is really good. I just made some this morning from 2 pounds of strawberries, Splenda, microwaved on high 7 minutes. It can be thickened with cornstarch but I like the juice as is. I make it essentially the same way with blueberries.
