The question is, was the sting worth the taste of honey? In another life, I'd like to be honey connoisseur. I'm pretty sure honey from alfalfa would be my favorite, but I haven't tried a lot of honeys ...

The sting is worth the honey. I used to do apiary sting therapy. It helps with the inflammatory problems with chronic pain. I dropped a swarm From a ladder one time and got about 50 stings. My back almost quit hurting.

I didn't remember you kept bees, that's so cool! Honey is big business in New Zealand. We did a honey tasting there and it's amazing how different they taste based on what plants the bees collect from!

This! I want to do honey tasting. Olive oil tasting, followed by honey tasting, all the while wine tasting. Someone invite me to this party.

It is amazing to get various flavors from flower nectar. We have a lot of black locust trees. They produce lots of nectar for a long period in the summer. Our ground here is very porous. It makes for flowers with low nectar flow. Each growing situation tastes different.

Oh fresh honey is just the best - sorry about the sting. Both my BILS keep bees - my DH wants to but Im allergic so we will stay away from that.

My previous attempts at weigh****chers (first go round, in 1982) always were painful. I was always hungry, and hanging on by my nails. My first attempt was when I was a sophomore in college and it did work. I got down to 133 on their scales and held it for a few years. I was pretty skinny for me, I remember Victoria Principal said she weighed 125 in an interview, and we were the same height, so I was sure if I could lose 8 more pounds I would look fantastic. I worked out like crazy, and walked 4 miles a day at least. And I was always hungry. Then I started gaining, and despite multiple weigh****chers memberships, I just kept getting fatter and fatter.

The next diet that worked was Aitkins in 2001. I lost 55 pounds, but I never got to skinny, just less fat. But I was happy to be "normal" fat, and go from a 2x/3x to an 18/20. That also lasted about 2 years, and then I was fatter than ever.

2012 I had surgery, and lost 130 pounds. In 8 years I've gained back 30. I would consider myself "normal fat" right now, my size 10/ 12 dresses either don't zip, or are uncomfortable. So here I am again, in a MUCH better spot, but still trying to lose. I don't need to be skinny to be satisfied, but I do want to be able to wear the dress I bought for my daughter's graduation in 2015.

All of this to say, I really like this new version of weigh****chers. It is flexible, and I'm beginning to believe that if I'm hungry, (physical hunger) I won't blow it if I eat something from the free food list. And the tracking app almost feels like an electronic game. So, so far so good. I've just started really, but I don't feel any of the rising panic, this isn't going to work, as I have so many times before.

Yeah, I like WW best of all the times I did it (hit lifetime 3 times). I find the zero point foods steer me toward much healthier and satisfying eating without feeling deprived.

Heading out shortly for a walk at the beach with a friend and then we meet another for a coffee at the Shake Shack (literally a shack/restaurant with benches) overlooking the ocean. I hope it's calming.

My vegan food fest from Thistle continues to be tasty and way too much food. I chewed like a goat on my lunch salad for ages and it doesn't look like I touched it! It was pretty good. A beet poke bowl with some unpronounceable stuff, lentils, mizuna greens and an avocado sesame sauce. Could have feed two.

Anyway, love reading all of your posts each day. You really are like family!

I looked up Thistle out of curiosity and it looked like it was just a west coast company. But the options looked delicious.
