We haven't heard from Ann since her weekend adventure last week, and Miss Bonnie is missed too. Peps, like you I will try to post daily. I so deeply appreciate reading each and every post here, I intend to be more consistent about posting.
I've been an AARP member for years, but have never explored benefits beyond discounts at restaurants and hotels. I looked there site over and there is a wealth of information I am eager to explore. I took a memory quiz that showed some areas of deficit and some ways to improve. I weed wacked the entire back yard and mowed half of it before the skies let loose. DC and I have been taking daily walks with the dogs, which are getting longer as his hip continues to strengthen. No special activities for this long weekend. Bison steak, mushrooms and fingerling potatoes tonight.
Age: 64; 5' 5"; High weight: 345; Start weight: 271 (01/05/15); Surgery weight: 218 (05/27/15); Pre-Op (-53); M 1 (-18); M 2 (-1.5); M 3 (-13.5 ); M 4 (-13); M 5 (- 8); M 6 (-12) M 7 (-5, Xmas); M 8 (- 9) Under surgeon's goal and REACHED HEALTHY BMI 12/07/15!! (Six months and one week.) AT GOAL month 8. Maintaining at goal range (139- 144) ~ four (4) years !!
Weight 122.6, WW Bluepoints 7. DS kept trying to tempt me with tacos and banana bread, but luckily I had leftover bolognese and blueberry muffins. I want to stay on plan the next couple of weeks to see if I can get under 122 more often.
So yesterday was a total washout outside. Justice had short walks first thing in the am, then around dinner and before bed. In between it was pouring and he refuses to go out in the rain unless he absolutely has to. But he did get wet yesterday, as he had a bath in the sink. He is such a good boy about it! He doesn't even shake off the water like crazy before I get him wrapped up in a towel.
I did finish my stair project. I had spent several days removing the dirty stair carpet back in October. It was supposed to be my winter project. By the time my hands and back recovered from that we were in crisis mode with DH. So the treads remained unpainted and marked up. After filling the holes Friday, I sanded, taped and painted them yesterday. So these may just look like stairs, but I am thrilled that they are DONE!
We may walk at the "Knob" today, a beautiful path by the ocean. The parking lot there had been one of the ones blocked off because it has a beach. I think if I go early we will be able to park for a walk as it is cloudy and cool today.
Stay safe and healthy!

Good morning and happy Sunday!
My goal of 32 oz of water was met, and then some, yesterday. I drank 56 oz of clear water, plus coffee and one can of Coke Zero. I can certainly live with that.
I was also very pleased with my eating yesterday and was happy to hop on the scale this morning in hopes to see a small drop. Oh, no, I was rewarded for my efforts with a full pound gain. Disheartening. I shall persevere.
Ron wants to go to his sister's house for Memorial Day. I do not. I am feeling uncomfortable attending a social function, even if it is outdoors. The attendees will be only immediate family members, which is a plus, but I'm still feeling a bit uptight. i'm sure it will be fine and i know I will be careful.
I have decided I will not let the scale's information detract me from my hydration goal and my quest for a more nutritious and healthy, non-diet diet!
We all hate spikes up when we have done the right things even though we know it could just be sodium, bathroom trips or how humid it is outside!

We've done 2 social distance bbq meet ups this week, and some things went well, but overall we did not maintain our distance as much as I would have liked. Yesterday we sat on a lower patio, under our friends Sun room. I wondered if the "roof" over us was trapping any of our exhalations. If yours is in the big outdoors, it should be fine.
Diane it's great to hear your husband is getting stronger with your walks. I'm glad to hear you're going to try and post daily. I know all of us are experiencing a bit of the same old same old, because of quarantine, but I too look forward to hearing about whatever is going on in the tribe. And sometimes a comment we think is a bit mundane lights a spark in someone else. Like you made a comment about your clematis, and it reminded me I want to get one started. :)
Liz the stairs look so lovely and fresh. You are very talented in this regard, your fixes always look professional, without a wif of the diy struggle.
Peps good job on the water. An unexpected pound up when not deserved is always water retention, any pounds down are of course actual loss of fat. :)
LOL, maybe the "wif" is absorbed by my sore hands and arms.

Gorgeous day here, sunny and very light breeze. Perfect porch weather. I am having my church on the front porch as I listen to all the birds singing and chatter. It may get overcast with storms this afternoon, but for now, I'll take this gift.
If the grass dries out enough before the next rain, I'll mow at least the front yard. Unlike some of our tribe, it is not a task I relish while doing it, but it does look nice when it's done.
I am missing Ann and Miss 150 too. I see David on Facebook, so I know he's okay, but when someone is gone for a good chunk of time, I worry.
Some days, the sheer amount of sad news, and the suffering weigh heavy on the soul. Today I look around and think, but yet there is still so much beauty. I hope everyone is touched by some beauty today.

Hi all! Not much news here. Enjoying the Splendid Spoon offerings and supplementing to get the calories up. I don't normally get this much fruit and veg, so it has to be good for me in that regard! Feels virtuous.
I think I'll do some lizarding today and maybe go put gas in my car. Malls and restaurants can now open here with social distancing and masks, which is interesting because our deaths, hospitalizations and new cases have all risen sharply this last week, but we squeezed under the requirement by 0.05%. Not something that engenders confidence! The polarization between people that want to open everything and those that want to stay holed up is so ugly around here. It quickly devolves into personal attacks and includes exaggerations and incorrect information on both sides. I think there is no correct answer. Bad things will happen to the economy and mental health if we continue to stay home and people will die if we restart our lives, even carefully. A no win situation.
Liz, your stairs look great! Diane, do bison steaks taste gamey or like beef?
Good Morning Beautiful Tribe
Popping in again after a lovely weekend. Feeling very happy as it involved lots of family time. I didnt make it here yesterday as I slept in till 8.15am - that never happens. Had to pop to the supermarket and quickly get the slow cookers on - as we had Red Wine and Garlic Beef Ribs for Stepdaughter and her partner. Spent a lovely afternoon and evening with them. It will be the last time DH sees any of them for around 6 weeks so its been good for him to see them all. As it has me.
We received news from our premier on the weekend that we are moving to Stage 2 restrictions on 1/6 - As you know Australia has faired very well with our figures. As at now we have had 7109 cases and 102 deaths. They have done a huge amount of testing and feel we are ready to go to the next ease in restrictions. It means (for those interested)
