Weight 122.2, WW Bluepoints 35 or thereabouts. DS made banana bread. I have hidden it. Enough said.

Yesterday was sunny and warm. I did lizard on the deck and took Justice for a one hour walk along the ocean in the afternoon. That was after filling the nail holes in the stair treads and fixing a kitchen cabinet door which has been hung too low since we bought the place. My cabinets are cheap builders stock though solid wood. I had them all painted white and trimmed on the edges with bead board years ago. They look okay, but if I decide to stay here long term I will replace the cabinets or reface them.

Today I plan to sand the stair treads and tape for painting. Maybe I will start painting, but maybe that will be tomorrow. After that project, I owe my SIL some slip cover sewing I promised her a couple of years ago.

The beaches open today!!! That is a big deal for us Cape Codders. I won't go until next week probably because it is going to rain today, but knowing that they are open raises my spirits.

Stay safe and healthy!

Good morning. it is a glorious Saturday morning here on the west coast! i'm outside on the patio in the morning sun and it is warm!!!! it's going to be in the upper 80s today. Maybe I will lizard today, too.

Since posting late yesterday not much has changed, but i want to make a concerted effort to post more regularly. It does help to keep my head in the came staying connected here actively, rather than just as a passive participant.

Hydration, actually the lack thereof, has been a big issue for me lately. Today my lofty goal is 32 oz of water. Anything above that is icing on today's Hydration Cake.

i have to rush off to Napa to help with one of the pups from Dinah's litter. Hoping to check back in later.

Yes, do check in daily, I always look forward to your posts.

Hydration, my new thing is very precise. I have a 24 ounce stainless steel contigo. I fill it with water, ice and then I squeeze half a lime (or if I'm out of limes, I use lime juice, but fresh is yummiest) and a packet or two of sweetener. I drink at least 2 of these most days, and look forward to them. There would be people who disagree with adding things to my water, but since it increases my intake, I think it's a good trade off.

Please lizard for me - it is a cool, indoor day with the rain. Justice did have a bath today though.

Beaches open in Cape Cod must be like ice out on the lakes here. How lovely to be able to go to the beaches during the off times. My husband works every other weekend, so he always has a weekday off. It's so nice in the summer when we can go to museums and beaches etc ahead of the crowd. I can't wait until he retires and can play the whole summer.

Raining here, so whether the bbq we are planning with our friends will actually take place is unknown. Maybe later in the day.

We bought a new backyard fire pit and used it last night. Before our fire, we got take out from Panera, and drove to a park on a lake shore and had a little picnic. Nice, peaceful evening, and not unlike a normal Friday night in the Before.

I am very disappointed, our Archbishop has told our churches to open in defiance of the stay safe order that says we could gather in groups of 10 . Thing are opening up every week in a slow methodical way. Patience. We will not be attending any Mass until the governor's order says we can. We have family members who will now feel they must go if Mass is available. Older people with diabetes, heart disease... I hope they'll be okay.

Hope everyone finds some joy, peace, comfort this weekend, whatever it is their heart is hungry for.

Churches are allowed to reopen in Massachusetts as of Monday. The rules are: "everyone will be required to wear protective masks, places of worship will need to hold services at a maximum of 40% capacity, space families at least six feet apart, block off pews or other fixed seating to encourage distancing, promote ventilation in enclosed spaces, suspend communal gatherings pre- and post-service, and modify communal rituals, like taking communion or passing of the peace."

I'm sure that's where we were heading in the next few weeks. As the bars and restaurants are set to open, but only with patio seating, the number of hospitalized is rising. I think us Catholics can cool it. Other denominations are waiting for directions, as they should.

Today's big outing will be a search for CR2016 batteries for my whole house fan remote. How weird to look forward to such a small reason to leave the house!

One of the non-profits I support is the Pacific Marine Mammal Center not far from me. One of the perks is sponsoring an animal from rescue through rerelease. Mine for this year is Blondie, a 9-10 month old California sea lion pup who was found on San Clemente beach malnourished and with an injured flipper in early April. She's gone from a feeding tube to eating fish on her own and is gaining weight to prepare for her release. Normally you get invited to their release - sadly I'm usually in MI when they are ready to go and this year the pandemic is keeping me away. But here she is, from her rescue day pic to recovery to now...

So cute! They have little toenails!

Anyway, I'm off to get ready for my battery search. Have good days everyone! So glad to see so many latching in to lizarding!

Lovely! I always think that seal faces look like Labrador retrievers of the sea.
