I am finding all the mental exercises of risk tolerance versus reward so interesting. Human interaction, family connection, exercise, all make my need for professional hair color seem really silly, but it was a grasp toward normalcy for me. Like I just could no longer go through the isolation, fear, and uncertainty AND have bad hair. Ridiculous, I know, but I struggle so much with acceptance of my overall appearance already, getting my hair done makes me feel less ugly. I confessed to my bff and he was really horrified that I had gone and let me have it, so I appreciate the lack of voiced judgement here. Listening to him (he said he'd quit his VERY high paying job if they made him go back to the office before there is a vaccine regardless of infection numbers), I think he?s heading into Howard Hughes, recluse, agoraphobe, germaphobe territory. I asked him if he'd started collecting his toenails yet.

Today I have my therapist. And I really need some exercise and to buckle down on eating better. I've gained an extraordinary amount of weight these months. I am definitely a stress eater and an eater of my feelings.

DD, I've also read the link between low vitamin D levels and coronavirus, so some more lizarding today for me too! Plus it's good for my mood. I've been good about my D supplements as I tend toward the very low end of normal without them. I read once (on OH I think) than the D chalky tablets are better absorbed than liquid gels. I switched to the chalky ones and my blood work definitely showed an improved difference.

We did have some excitement here yesterday. Someone stole a car in Anaheim and had a car chase down the freeway only to ditch the car and hide in my neighborhood. On NextDoor people said they saw 13 police cars from Anaheim, Irvine, and the CHP. A helicopter circled for nearly an hour with the loudspeaker telling people an armed man was on the loose and to get inside and lock your doors. Then the loudspeaker telling him to come out with his hands up. Very wild west. He was apprehended peacefully.

Nothing else to report here. Have a peaceful day!

Auntie Kathryn, a retired PD dispatcher, sent me a link to the the live copter cam of that chase yesterday! I failed to watch it and now am disappointed since I have a personal connection through you!

Good Morning All - Quick fly past this morning.... The house is a hive of activity. We went to collect another 3 cubic metres of wood last night after work - got home and my stepsons partner had brought our grandbabies over for a visit to surprise us. Safe to say there was no unloading but a wonderful time spent. They stayed for tea and we had lots of cuddles and snuggles. Read book after book to our eldest grandson as he snuggled on my knee (the good one). Thankful no one video this Old Nanna then trying to get up off the floor with her new knee - thats a work in progress but there was no elegance - liken it to a beached turtle really ha ha ha

I then stayed up late to put on a beef in red wine slow cooker as we are bringing main to Saturdays family dinner at my SIL's. Her daughter and kids will be there so it will wonderful. I cant wait to see them all and Im feeling more grounded as we see our family. I have oranges boiling atm to make my stepdaughter a dairy free orange cake - we are calling in there for a cuppa on the way to the farm. Havent seen them in nearly 8 weeks so it will be wonderful.

Our cleaner restarts today in line with the ease in restrictions. I am super excited not to have to chase my tail trying to fit in cleaning in amongst everything else. It will be bliss to have a clean house by 11.00am each Friday. Im also happy for her as she is a single mum and will have done it very hard trying to keep her head above water thru all of this.

This weekend will be saying goodbye to Marcus the bull - hes been spending (hopefully quality time) with our 5 girls for the last 3 months. My BIL is coming to collect him at some stage on Saturday. It will mean I can put last years calves back in with their mums as they are well and truely weaned and negate the need for me to try and clamber up the well mound to fill the fire trailer to keep the tank in their current paddock full. That was the only thing I knew I couldnt do safely with my knee whilst DH is in QLD for 6 weeks. Saturday night is the family dinner. I need to go and get some fruit and vegetables from the wholesaler for the coming week. Sunday will be a tidy up and call past to drop some things to a friends house then home via Stepsons place for a cuppa.

Liz - safe trip home - thinking of you

I had best get my butt moving - its 8.30am and I havent even done any work of any value - oops

I likely wont make it back this weekend but will try - if not have a wonderful weekend

Love to you all

S

Greetings Virus Evaders

Well here is a typical day for me:

Sleep late. Get up and make coffee. Drink coffee in pajamas and look at email and internet stuff for a couple of hours.

Get dressed.

Consider going out to get some groceries. Did not do it today.

Inspect and dead head the deck container garden.

Fool around with web sites and documents on the covid reopening plan and try to figure out if the art studio is an office or retail store. We do not fit any categories.

Answer peculiar email questions for gallery members.

Stare at piles of paper on my desk.

Stare at DH junk that needs to be removed.

Eat popcorn.

Lie down for awhile and watch CNN

Make dinner out of a can or box.

Feed dogs.

Watch repetitive TV and drink wine.

Repeat tomorrow.

I did get a call yesterday on my heart monitor test. They found non-sustained ventricle tachycardia. Rapid heart beat for short durations. So I go to some cardiologist to see what, if anything, is to be done. They are not jumping on this so I assume its not serious. Another adventure.

Liz hope you are home safe by now.

Ann, love your suggestions. You are right that much energy will be spent figuring out how to do the right thing.

Cecily, I am on the Corona weight gain diet. Liberal doses of popcorn each day. So it goes.

Take care all.

Diane, I hope your NSVT turns out to be relatively benign (which I read is often the case). Good that they will be checking further to make sure.
