Update #2. Her mother has been released to finish convalescing at home. They transported her there by ambulance. Her dad had a little fever and then nothing else. So strange how people even in the same house can have such different experiences. She said she is convinced the remedesvir shortened the length of her illness and the severity. Sounds like it considering how quickly she was deteriorating immediately after she was admitted.
That sounds hopeful! I am glad your friends are better.

Lucky you on the hair!!!

Ocean Diane, I hear you on the weather. Yesterday, I put all my baskets out. 10:15pm, watching the local news, freeze warning!! #@$& I get dressed and walk around the yard, in the dark, in the cold, collecting all my hanging baskets and putting them in the garage. Hopefully more seasonal weather is coming for us both.
It's sunny and 50 degrees here. I went to Costco on my lunch break. It wasn't very crowded, so not too nerve racking.
I'm not getting much done today. I can't focus. When my work day is actually done (vs. the million little breaks I've been taking) I'll probably do yard work. Maybe lifting, tugging, pulling, dragging some stuff will help my head get in a better space.
As much as I'm distracted, poor students! They have to try and stay with us through June 9th!!! They have shown some awesome discipline, but they are drifting away... the slide towards summer has begun, and it's steep!
I may never get my hair done again. My stylist had already moved to only 16 hours a week, and I was one of the lucky clients she kept. She's not sure if she is going to reopen or not. It will probably be a long time before anyone else will take new clients...
Well that's a peek into the current randomness of my thoughts...
Greetings Intrepid Ones
Geez there seems to be no end in sight to this stay home stuff. Be assured that I want our health department to keep us at home until it really is safe. 4 new cases in our county in the past couple of days - seem to be nursing home related. While I am not glad my mom is gone I shudder to think of how she would have fared even in her very luxurious assisted living place. I often wonder about some of the people who still live there. Probably no common dining room and meals delivered to apartments. Oh wait, the place is in Nebraska.
Yay Cecily for getting hair done. And for getting it all done. I am like DD, I may never get my hair done again. My hair looks like Boris Johnson only longer and grey. Fortunately around here being an old hippie means having 3 foot long grey hair so I have at least two feet to grow.
Travel safe Liz and take care of tummy. You have just one flight, right? Like DD is never going to beauty salon again I may never go to an airport again. Take a water container so you can fill it up if needed. In San Francisco they decided to not sell water in plastic bottles so you have to bring your own or buy water in a can! Last time through there was horrific.
Sorry for the Facebook hack folks. No clue what did it. I have a few friends who send me lots of videos but I never open them. I got a similar thing from someone a couple of weeks ago so that may be it.
Its breezy here and we had some rain. The yard is again a foot tall. Dogs look like they have no legs.
Ann you must have had the clip on fitbit to lose it. I am going to get one even though I have lost about 5 including one that went up the vacuum cleaner. I HATE the wrist one. Its uncomfortable like I am wearing an iron bar. But the old one did make me do more steps.
And Ann, so sorry for your sister and her husband. Good that they have some kids with their act together but it sure would be hard to arrange for any kind of elder care right now.
Having been through a few zoom meetings now, I can't imagine what it must be like to try to teach school. I would be sending kids to do a lot of book reports.
Tonight I will attempt some Mexican food. We have not had as much take out as I would have predicted. Keeping tortillas and refried beans on hand is pretty easy.
Not much else here. Time to turn on the tv to the "**** show" and take a nap.

Actually, the lost Fitbit was not a pin-on kind, but the wrist/bracelet kind. I've never had one fall off before. Must've been "it's time to go."
I'm happy not to watch any evening "**** shows" these days. I just read newspapers (WSJ, NYTimes, etc.), which deliver actual NEWS, not smirking and yelling.

So, when my hair reality truly hit, I had DC do my entire head with #8 clippers. I sped up the growing out to get to silver step, and I can live without a stylist. FB TT pictures tomorrow!??????????
