Weight 122.6, WW Bluepoints 10. Today is my WW weekly meeting. I enjoy them and find that they keep me motivated. I will confess that being here with the same routine daily and few temptations has been an ideal environment in which to lose my regain. It will be much harder at home with DS. I think I am going to have to have him hide his snacks. I sure hope the weather improves before we get home. I will have SAD too if the gloom and rain continue there.

It is rainy this morning, but sunny this afternoon. And don't tell my son, but we went to the beach yesterday. We got a parking space right away and were able to sit on the beach about 30 feet from everyone else. Very small groups of 2-3 people, all far apart on the beach and in the water. Boy, it was wonderful!

Stay safe, stay home, stay healthy!

Flood watches and high wind warnings here ! Ugh ! No outside work for a few days ! My weight is up two pounds, but I'm still earning credit for remaining within my range for WW lifetime. DD, the program you are doing sounds so interesting ! Is it through your insurance carrier ? BB, love the FB pictures of the girls' rooms and Becca reading ! Both of my girls were reading early, but my youngest blew me away at 30ish months, when I discovered that she wasn't retelling, but actually READing, when she started at the back of the book and decoded words in reverse order, obviously out of context. David, the work on the shop sounds fabulous ! Good for you using felled wood. Good luck on finding a new yard toy ! Peps, your dog socialization experience looked like such fun ! Diane, your efforts to keep the studio healthy are wonderful. DC's UV light gizmo hasn't arrived yet, has your husband's ? Liz and Ceci, soo envious of your weather !! Shirl and Miss Bonnie...?

Yes, the program is paid for by my insurance. The coach is a real live person, which is nice. I like the accountability of the scale sending my data to my tracking page. It just makes it more real.

Weight up a tad at 162.8

Liz-I was so sorry to hear about Doreen's quick passing.

I'm just having a really hard time dealing with death recently. It was hard losing my grandmother but I can accept it. Younger people dying is another thing entirely. People my parents' age, people my husband's age. Unreal.

Through a lot of the cooking I've been doing, especially in quarantine, I've been channeling grandmommy. I almost feel guilty like she took something from my mom. Because grandmommy was a bit of a second mother to me. I love that I'm that person in my family now. But it also feels overwhelming.

It looks like things are going to turn nasty with my SIL's boyfriend. It looks like courthouses will resume business on May 15. Time to get this probate ball rolling.

We are going to have some bids for painting our kitchen cabinets white. I've held off because 1) trends change and I worry about painting over the wood, 2) it's a mess, 3) it's an expense, and 4) I want to make sure that whoever does it does it correctly!! But already just preliminary discussions indicate that it would be 5-8 business days!!! I just don't see how we can do that with the girls and especially if dining out is not up and running! We do have a vacation in mid-August and maybe we could coordinate with that. Or just not do it!

I had my kitchen cabinets painted white and added some beadboard trim on the sides of some cabinets and front of the peninsula a few years ago (in the Cape Cod house). It didn't cost a lot but really lightened up and freshened the kitchen. But I had inexpensive 15 year old cabinets so I didn't question it much. I would like to replace them or at least reface and get new better quality cabinet doors if I decide to stay in the house for a while.

This is the dilemma I am having. It looks like to have it done right will be over 5k. Of course new cabinets would be quite a bit more, but it does make me pause to think how I want to invest this money. I have always loved white kitchens, but I'm not ready to change all the woodwork in our house. We've repainted trim in the bedrooms, bathrooms, and living room, but I'm keeping the darker trim in foyer, dining, and study. And because of how they bleed into one another, I would keep darker trim in kitchen too, but I've seen pictures where the crown molding is dark, but cabinets are light and I'm still happy with that look.

Finishing cabinets is something I hated to do when I was in the business. I would recommend a couple of painters but didn't trust many to do the job right. I charged $50 a foot to finish 25 yrs ago. One foot includes 1 ft of top and bottom cabinet. Measured to the wall in the corners in one direction only. That was with new wood. No prep to old finish. The last set I built I charged $600 a foot out of cherry with a stain and finish. Self closing hardware but no knobs or pulls. Hopes that helps as a comparison.

Liz I am so glad you got to go to the beach! And I laughed about not wanting your son to know. My daughter is the quarantine police at our house, yelling do you have your mask on the rare occasions I leave the house. And of course I do thanks to Ocean Diane. :) I would absolutely go to the beach under those cir****tances.

I worked in the evening last night, so I gave myself some comp time this morning. Around 8 am I went to a nursery about 5 blocks from my house and bought 4 hanging baskets and 2 flats of bedding plants. I wore my mask, and it was not crowded yet. They were just unloading the truck, so I got some nice things. My rule is, I can't buy more until I plant what I have, so I will be getting busy soon.

My weight loss program is helping, I've let go of 3pounds of water weight since my first weigh in Sunday morning. The first week is always so exhilarating. Then shiz gets real.

Looks like an incredible stretch of weather rolling in. I will reli**** Hard earned here in Minnesota. Minnesota is like the girl with the curl, when she is good, she is very, very good. When she is bad, she is very, very bad. Hooray for the good times.

It's been a month since we went to online education. Like Peps , I am frustrated by how I have to teach. I love the snergy of the group, and those magic moments when some unexpected and amazing learning happens. I read an article that referred to the pre covid times as The Before. Here's hoping The After brings back the things we love.

Greetings After Ones

Little to report. I am doing a lot of napping. Just finished a "crack an egg" and feel like going to sleep. But I really need to get up and do something. Anything.

Probably a trip to the studio in a bit. Only 2 or three people will be there as we are officially closed. There is talk of our two art galleries reopening in a few weeks as a phase 2 business. Should be pretty easy to sanitize and distance but I doubt we will have many customers. I have suggested shorter hours.

Beach is good Liz. On the big ones its totally easy to stay 30 feet apart. We can do that too. I would like to go walk the fishing pier up in the little town. Not sure if its open though I know the fishing boats are out working.

DD I am craving plants too. Maybe will pick some up. But like you, I can't get more than I can plant in one afternoon or it won't get done.

DianeM, my DH is using his ultraviolet sanitizer and your masks do fine in it. He runs it 30 minutes. He also got some kind of ultra violet want to use in the car. Turns out the light it emits can be harmful to eyes so now he has to order special glasses. Why they don't come with it is a mystery. Anyway, he loves your masks. I took a little tuck in the sides so they fit him better and he thinks I am a genius. Mine fit fine without tucks - no doubt due to my chubby cheeks.

BB hand in there with the little ones. They are loving having you even if they fuss.. I keep smelling smoke around here and it makes me think of you and the fabulous smoked meat you make.

Dave good to hear from you. Sounds like you have plenty going on. Be glad you have your shop and a place to tinker. Good luck on tractor search.

Yoo Hoo Ann, hope you are healing.

Still up to my eyeballs in Corona Virus relief programs and such. I am sick of reading about it. I would rather play with my toys.

Thats about it. One last lasagna tonight and then I must forage for other food.

Stay well. Diane S
