Weight 124.2, WW Bluepoints 8. I hate bouncing back over 124 though I knew it might. This is what my daily weight looks like over the last 6 months (I started weighing daily in mid-December when I went back to WW):

We took a ride on the road along Fort Myers beach and Bonita beach yesterday. It is so weird to see everything so quiet. I filled my gas tank with gas at $1.65/gallon. Also weird.

No plans for today other than walking and reading.

Interesting news the last couple of days here: The main models now say Florida has peaked in Coronavirus deaths and hospital admissions. Just two days ago the peak was forecasted in early May, but now they think it is past. We shall see, though our county has continued to have very slow growth - just a few per day over a base of 185,000. I am really thinking I would be ready to go home in mid-May when my flight is scheduled. Again, I guess we shall see...

Stay safe, stay home, stay healthy!

Weight: 161.2

Liz-cool weight graph.

I am thankful that at a time when so many households are struggling, they can afford to fill up their gas tanks. When it went below $1 here about a month ago, that was a very scary thing for us to see as so much of the OK economy is dependent on oil and natural gas and the tax revenue from those industries. But I sure hope it isn't long term. Domestic companies cannot sustain those prices for very long :(

I'm feeling a bit more cheerful. I undecorated Easter. Rich and I had game night of cribbage on Friday, and we had my parents over for dinner and a movie last night. We've been kind of isolating with them (we're all staying home pretty much other than groceries and I realize there are risks but honestly they're keeping us sane).

I need to get back on the calorie counting and working out bandwagon. I am hoping to work through some of my comfort food in the cabinets and do smart portions but then hopefully when things really reopen I can go back to healthy meal planning. I'm contemplating buying p90x3. Anyone have experience with it or any beach body? I know I can do beachbody on demand for like $100/year. Or buy this used dvd set for $40. But I have a gym and I don't know how much I'll use either.

I was going to comment on updated models for OK too. Very confusing because initially it showed mid-April, then April 21, then May 1, now all of a sudden it shows we've passed the peak. Woohoo!!! I know these models are taking in the info as it comes and so anything we do or don't do may change that. And I am worried about another spike. But at this point I'm kind of resigned to just hoping to buy into optimism. I need more of that here!!

Today is a very important anniversary in Okc. Today marks the 25th anniversary of the Oklahoma City Murrah Bombing. It's so weird how distant that time now feels. I am probably one of the last groups of people to really have experienced it. I was in first grade and the bombing stands out in my memory, along with 9/11. I was in my first grade classroom and we felt the big thud from miles away. It really changed our city. It really changed America. I guess what is striking, and saddening, to me is how unshocking the Okc Bombing is in today's environment. It feels more normalized. I volunteered at the Memorial in highschool. It's a really beautiful tribute and if you ever visit Oklahoma City, I encourage you to at least see the tree and the chairs in the outside area. 25 years later. I'm kind of sad that we cannot have the remembrance ceremonies that were planned. Every year our city's big marathon is the "run to remember" where banners along the way have the names of the victims. That has been postponed. 25 years. Wow.

Yes, it is important to remember tragedies like this and so sad that bombings and mass shootings are somewhat "normal" ( get reported on for a week or two then go away from the forefront).

I remember the bombing also and the subsequent trials. It was a pretty day here, and I was babysitting my nieces and nephews. We had come from outdoors, and I turned on the tv. Here we were, this pretty domestic scene, and then this evil entered the room.

I was just reading an article about "quaranteams" and social pods. Like you and your parents, small groups of people agree to see only each other, and that everyone strictly follows quarantine aside from the pod. A healthy way to still have some social support. My son and his girlfriend are doing this.

Liz, thank you so very much for daily starting this thred.

As I haven't been posting daily weight, one would correctly assume my Fit*****art would (and I'm sure does not) not look like yours. Perseverance over time- well done, girl. BB- I'm with you all the way in needing a sustainable plan that involves calories and increased activity. Instead of using all this wonderful extra time given us- I fritter it away = become bored = amuse myself with thinking, planning, executing eating experiences for entertainment .....

I think I need hobby. I have so many "toys" around- time to take some down and play with them. In fact, I believe maybe I'll begin a daily log of self entertaining activities and see if there is a correlation between increasing fun and decreasing junk eating.

Off to walk the Swann, take in some sun and think about a plan....

Hugs and smiles all around.

Thought for the day....Think about doing instead of thinking, then do it!!

"Executing eating experiences for entertainment", I really need to roll this over in my head. I look forward to hear about the self entertaining activities you log. In one regard, I'm lucky to be working still, because it does distract me and provides structure during the work week.

Liz your graph shows what consistent effort yields.

Your county seems to be doing a great job, but other parts of Florida seem a bit dicier. Hopefully Jacksonville doesn't become another hot spot after they opened the beaches. The governor did say it as just for exercising, not Sun bathing etc. Being able walk, surf and swim sounds so great, but the pictures looked scary, so many people.

As many states ready to end mandated stay home orders, it seems there are ways we could do it. I don't know how many restaurants could reopen, but with many fewer tables to reduce density, could they make it? Or state parks, camp sites already social distance, but what about the bathrooms and showers? Lots of plans to be made.

I'm still personally scared of getting the virus. I'm turning 59, I've already been very sick with pneumonia 2 times (one was H1N1), and a third bout that wasn't as severe. But another part of me wants to get it over with so I can go into my parents house.

Went to see my "nephew" and his family last night. He works for a tire and auto service business, family owned. They gave him 3 weeks of paid parental leave because they wanted to minimize the chances of him bringing germs home. They are staggering their workers to reduce their exposure to each other. Nobody is actually working 40hours, but everyone is getting paid. Guess who will be driving an extra 20 miles now to get their oil changed? We need to support this business, I'm so impressed.

Sun is shining, the tiger lilies I transplanted are still there, so maybe the squirrels aren't going to eat them. :) More yard work after more tea and the Sunday paper.

I actually just showed the graph to show how up and down it always is even with a downward trend.

Right? It's never a straight line. But it's cool, when over time, the downward trend is so clear. I don't like it when my trend line goes the other way, (and it has), but it provides good information in that case too.
